I can say this about one K1 I know of personally...

She was desperate to -

1) Find Love

2) Get Out of Germany

Now granted, you don't need to use a K1 to get out of Germany generally but she was in debt in Germany and they won't let you out without some sort of agreement, interesting.

I was going to mention she loves Black Men, but found a connection with some White Guy in Maryland. He sponsored her to come here, got the K1 and K3 (her son is 16) and both flew here with basically just the clothes on their backs and a few belongings.

Turns out he's a complete looser and has threaten to ship her back. Last I heard she was trying to stay but if she went back she would be a statistic.

Its not related to lack of speaking English. Its more related to false promises made and disappointment.

I would say this is more of the root cause of K1's returning to their home countries, than the reasons ThatGuy sighted as those are the ones that are stereotyped.

I don't think many men go around marrying women that don't speak even workable English. That might have been the case shortly after the fall of the Wall in the 90's but that's just not the case anymore, I don't see very many post on the Russian Women Discussion Forum and others like it talking about sending their ladies to English classes, its fairly rare these days.

I think its more a case of men not getting to the woman's true intentions because they were too blinded by getting the pussy or women who have dreams that outstrip reality and are just aren't plain honest.

If you keep your mind clear and your intentions pure, I think its hard to end up in a situation where you're being taken for a ride...

A good stable income proceeded by a solid pension, reasonable proximity to an undeveloped country, and a vasectomy, and you're on your way to paradise.

You raise a good question, H. One that is frequently asked by all married men. For me, I guess I don't want to be alone and still mongering in my senior years. I want a sexy, young, intelligent wife that is a good helpmate, lover, friend and domestic partner. If she doesn't have the size tits I want I will bolt them on. If she is not degreed I will put her through school to become a RN. Both in affordable countries, naturally. Geez, the way things are going here in the U.S. I don't see how anyone can afford to retire comfortably here.

Its not that america isn't attractive, but that most women brought here don't speak the language very well. If they have been here less than 6 months they don't have a green card. Finding work without a green card, no real skills, and not speaking fluent english will be very hard. Then too, not knowing anyone, you have to remember they came with the man, not to their family so they have no support system. No transportation.

Even an american moving to another city would have a hard time under those conditions, let alone someone from another country who doesn't have a clue of how the country functions.

From these statistics it seems its better to marry an AW if you want to live in America.

At least the divorce rate is much lower so it seems you have a better chances of the marriage lasting longer.

Actually the divorce rate among most Eastern Europeans is higher than America, but that's mainly because its much less complicated to get one.

I think the high rate of return (pun intended) is caused by many reasons, the least of which is likely an American Male "Jumped The Shark". As I have said in the AW, I think the main mistake is not doing your do diligence. I would understand working a regular job and her being 5,000 miles away mean you can't do the job properly, but then again the divorce rate is high here for marriages less than 5 years old (80%).

I've also said some men spend more time shopping for a car than putting a woman through the same scrutiny, it goes without saying its likely the cause for foreign bride K1 Visa to fail.

What I have seen from what data is available is that EE/AM marriages tend to be more successful.

Maybe he enjoyed the wedding ceremony and the reception. If you're poor with nothing to lose serial matrimony can be loads of fun. Marriage was invented by the rich but now only the poor can afford it.

Or an optimist. But seriously that number of attempts is not uncommon in the U.S. I know a lot of guys past the 40 yr mark who have attempted matrimonial bliss on at least three occasions. All would be considered successful in other aspects of their lives save that one.

1) You have NEVER stated that kids are a reason to get married, but if that's your ONLY reason, you should find some better ones!

2) You have to be the FIRST person to recommend marriage with a foreigner based on more favorable divorce statistics!!

3) Marrying a rich woman who has more money and assets (and no prenup) can be a BIG positive!!!

2) I don't recommended based strictly on statistics, where did you get that from?

3) I don't know any "Rich" women, I don't know any business owners and frankly they all think they are better than me based strictly on what they put on their personal ads. I in their eyes am I loser, why even bother.

4) Foolish? As GT said, some men take more time considering a home or automobile purchase than the woman they are marrying. In that case, it could be very foolish. If you take it seriously I doubt you would get burned.
