I did a day trip to Isla Rosario. I snorkeled a little, drank at the pool, walked around the beach.

Any of guys ventured out to this island for a day or two. Looks like a short boat ride. There also seems to be a hotel on the island called "Isla arena beach club". I am trying to find a good (white soft sand and not dirty) beach within an hour of Cartagena. If this island is not the one, any other ideas? Beaches of Santa Marta are too far. Alternatively, Tolu and Covenas seem to have decent beaches. Please share your thoughts and help me out here. Thank you.

Was looking for a list of taxi drivers to show me around to clubs, girls, beaches, houses etc.
Found a list in this section from 2011. Anything more recent?

Posts: 500Agreed, Club Pesca D Manga is a much better setting with a bit better food. Juan del Mar is fine if someone is dying to go or you're in town a while and want some variety, but it didn't bowl me over. La Vitrola also has great food, but overpriced in many cases (e. G. Various carpaccios there). Cevecheria is a half block from Hotel Santa Clara. It has been around for many years. The setting is simple but outside you have a nice feel from the old city. Prices are reasonable, they prepared me some massive lobster dishes for $17-$30 depending on the exact dish.

Thinking of taking la novia to Cartagena for a sexy weekend. Is there a hotel that you guys would recommend? Nice pool, view, clean, safe, quiet, and near stuff. Also Activities? What should we do?
Thanks and please feel free to PM me with any tips.

Oh La La is a great place to take a date.. the ambiance is nice... the food is good (a sort of french cuisine) and the price is a little more...
I have also eaten at El Bistro in the old city and it was decent, I got the best piece of beef there for a reasonable price..
and for desserts (If you are into desserts and coffee), do not even think about passing on the opportunity to try
Panderia y Pasteleria Mila..... ( It says Mila outside in gold letters) Calle de la Iglesia 35-76 It is one block over from plaza santo domingo and I will attache a photo for you from Google street maps.

Posts: 500As a foreigner I think the best / simplest are virgin mobile and uff. Virgin mobile is straight forward. No weird bonuses and varied rates and bullshit. You pay one price for calls, one price for texts and they charge you by the second, not the minute. That way you don't have to worry about who has what operator, it's 150 pesos (about 8 cents US) to any colombian mobile phone and I think 300 pesos to a landline. 100 pesos for a text (140 characters). The by the second thing is great, too, you don't have to sweat that three minute and one second call costing you more. They don't have their network, they piggyback onto movistar's. It sucks, but so do all of them.

Best cellular carrier in Cartagena depends on who provides the best coverage in you house / apartment. All wireless carriers here are inferior to what you'd find in first world countries. Most of the girls have Tigo, because that is the cheapest. Best place to buy Claro sim cards is in their office on San Martin or their office on the second floor of Caribe Plaza. Depending on how many minutes you buy, you will generally get promotional minutes gratis.
