I was thinking of comming to BKK in time for the Chinese New Year (Jan. 26, 2009).
1. Is it in fact worth while to come for the festivities and how long do they last?
2. Will the hotels be very busy and if so, from when to when?
3. In case I cannot get a suitable hotel for that period in BKK, would it be easier (hotelwise) to 'do' Pattaya in the mean time?

Hi fellow BKK mongers!

I will be making my 6th trip to LOS in 2 years. Have flown solo in the past but would like to meet up with some of you in BKK the week of November 6. If anyone would like to meet up for a beer and some hunting, respond here. I have always stayed at the Dream BKK but thought this trip to go "down and dirty" and stay at the Nana Hotel. (this trip NOT on expense report). Btw, I have found that I AM partial to Issan girls, friendlier, generally like it front, back and any ol' way! What do you guys think?

What would be the best way to get from Bangkok to Pattaya at it seems about 2 hours away can i get by skytrain . I will be in Bangkok for more than a week and want to spend a few days in Bangkok, then pattaya and then back to bangkok. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

There are lots of flights from London to BKK for between £500 - £600. You should be able to get a cheap flight from Glasgow to London, then if necessary a connection to LHR or LGW.

Check out Emirates or Qatar Air.

I am flying with Qatar airways in October for £450 rtn,but I booked that in June,and direct with the airline,then going on as far as Bali,with Air Asia/Lion air,six flights in total,Bangkok-Singapore-Bali-Jakata-kuala Lampur-Phuket-Bangkok,then to Pattaya for 5 nights,for an extra £150.00,accomodation works out at £20.00 pr night on average,for 14 nights,with a mix of hostels/guest houses and 4/ 5 star hotels.so all thats less than £1000.00.so as I have learnt,book early! its the only way.try the cheap flight sites such as Airline network/ebookers/last minute.com,and use Hostelworld.com and hostelbookers.com also Asiarooms.com for hotel/hostels etc.

I am in KL, have been for a couple weeks (I have a room there paid for, for the next month).

I am heading to Phuket tomorrow on Air Asia, then, whenever I feel like it, I am heading to BKK/Pataya. I will return to KL around 12 Sept, actually my dive instructor (and a couple GFs) wants to hangout in Lankowi island for that weekend, so I may not get to KL until the 14th.

Been a member under 3 names now, damn wife, since 2001 and headed to Pataya with my Business partner, lookingto organize a large sexually oriented gathering, will be booking a room at the Penthouse fo rrthe event.

Looking for a couple of other to join in, this is my 10th trip or so to Thailaind but only my second to Pataya so would not mind some assistance in ensuring the proper motivated, flexible bi ladies are invited.
