Bangkok (Reuters) - With performers wearing facemasks as well as bikinis, Bangkok's red-light districts reopened on Wednesday after more than three months of shutdown to stop the spread of coronavirus.

Bars, karaoke venues and massage parlours were in the latest category of businesses allowed to reopen. With conditions. Now that Thailand has gone 37 days since recording any local transmission of the virus.

It meant a return to work for some of the hundreds of thousands of people in the nightlife industry who have been struggling to survive.

"I lost all my income," said Bee, a 27-year-old dancer who goes by her stage name at the XXX Lounge in the Patpong district.

"I'm glad that I can come back to work in a job that I'm good at. I'm OK with the mask because it's one of the precautions. ".

All customers have their temperature taken. They must give a name and telephone number. Inside, everybody must sit at least one metre (yard) apart and two metres from the stage.

British expatriate Michael Theo was among those who questioned the need.

"You can take a BTS (train) in the morning with 200 people on a packed train but then you can come into a bar and still have to sit 2 metres apart," he said.

Thailand has staggered the reopening of public places over several weeks. Schools also resumed on Wednesday.

Cockfighting and fishfighting venues remain closed.

The coronavirus has killed 58 people out of 3,173 infections, a relatively low number even within the region.

But Thailand's economy is forecast to sink further than any other in Southeast Asia with the number of foreign tourists expected to drop 80% this year.

At the Dream Boy club on Patpong's Soi 1, bare-chested men with faceshields tried to encourage the few passers-by off the street. But many businesses remained shut and there were few customers.

"There are bars all over Bangkok that have been open for 10 to 15 years and now they are closed and they are not coming back," said Christian Henrich, who manages the XXX Lounge.

It is a list negotiated amongst the EU rather than a list of countries where formal agreements have been reached.

My reading is that it is only China where the EU is requiring reciprocated access before inclusion on the list. The others probably don't have the political and economic significance. And of course if EU tourists cannot come to Thailand then they'll likely go to Spain or Greece, to the benefit of EU countries' economies.

If I understand the announcement correctly I found that requirement on reciprocity from China a little odd.

Why not a similar arrangement with Thailand which has no plans to allow access to E. U. Nationals anytime soon even those with Elite cards or retirement visa's.

They are just naive because of their background. I think that asset should not have been divided 50/50 because the money came from the man before marriage.

I have to disagree with some particularly the 50/50 in this particular case I think the judge got it right or was being fair. I think you should go back and read the details again. They weren't married and the judge decided this was still a common-law marriage. Here is the difference I see it in cases where you are married and you decided to buy property when you are at the land office to register the deed in my particular case and many that I've been involved with the clerk ask you as a foreigner knowing full well or just in general that the money to purchase the home comes fully from the foreigner. In my particular case, I was asked this and a number of other questions I told the clerk yes the money is totally mine and sign a release giving and registering the title in her name and her son doing so I couldn't come back on it later. To some this is unusual but I did it fully knowing if something happened I was going to be crying about the money.

In this particular case with the Danish fellow, the land the house was built belong to the Thai lady or her family. The judge provided the solution that if the Thai lady wanted to contest or continue with her position it was a gift then the judge would request the house be torn down and all the material be resold which would have net them something like 900,000 baht divided 450 each Thai lady gets the money but now no house this I think the same with the Honda.

Regardless the Thai made the right choice to keep the house a roof over her head and family my favorite saying to Thais " you can't live in your car " and let the Danish have the car it all comes out in the wash at least for the judge because she owned the Land regardless if all the money came from overseas. Sure the numbers don't come out right for the Danish guy but that is the price or due you pay. In my opinion, he came out ahead knowing it now before he moves more money over to her she did him a favor.

I wasn't born yesterday I knew when I pull the trigger especially from all the books and stories I read that if things went south I wasn't going to lose a whole lot of sleep over it I wasn't spending anything that I couldn't afford to lose. Even today I have nothing in my name including the two condos that are rented out which I have a life estate on the deeds that gives me the right to live in one of them until I die. Update here. And you might want to back track to the original post exchanges on this if you weren't following them before and are interested in my experiences with my first testosterone treatment:

The doctor said I would probably not feel any effects from the injection for "a couple of weeks." However, it is only 1 week after my first 3-month injection and I am already experiencing more of a feeling of fullness in my balls and need to release via ejaculation on my "skip a day in between" day. LOL. And that is the start of what I was hoping to get out of this.

Before this injection, I had that feeling just fine along with all the usual feelings of hornyness, erection during sexual talk/thoughts/fantasy, foreplay, etc when I was on more of an "every other day" schedule; meaning, I would have a session, skip a day, have a session, skip a day and so on. I've been using testosterone gel. It worked nicely for a time, but then my testosterone levels went down. I met with my urologist about 5 times over the last year. We talked about what he prescribes most often.

Gels have the advantage of easy application once a day. Disadvantages are the absorption is difficult to predict and can change over your lifetime. In USA, it can be very expensive. Think $1500-$3000 per month for heavy dose of name brand Androgel without insurance or discount. Maybe $60 per month for smaller dose of generic with good discount but no insurance. The generic is relatively recent in USA.

I forget the term he used, maybe implant. Rice size thing put under the butt skin in the doctor's office. Process is repeated every 3 months. Based on his description, it seems this is something that dissolves over 3 months.

Self injections done every 2 weeks at home. Much less expensive, in my case it is about 10%-15% the cost of generic gel.

There are other methods, but I never really considered them.
