Been RTFF for the last few weeks and I've got a pretty decent game plan for my month in Thailand.

My question is is there good places for meeting other vacationers and other such "nonpros"? I've heard maybe Tinder is an option?

I was contemplating Patong with the hopes of meeting other vacationers (in addition to its decent mongering opportunities). Any other places I should look at? I can't imagine meeting nonpros in Pattaya, for example.

You guys missed the point of my post completely.

There was a poster here recently saying no Indian men go back to India with Blue Balls. So if that means 20,000+ Indian men get BBBJ and DFK in Pattaya on a weekly basis and none get the coronavirus, then hobbying in Thailand is safe and there should not be all of this mongering paranoia.

I'd be more afraid of standing in crowded long lines at Immigration at BKK or DMK and flying on a plane with circulated air than getting the virus from a girl in Pattaya or Bangkok.

I'm currently in a country with very very few cases of coronavirus. A regular girl I know has had a runny nose with no other symptoms for 2 days so she is getting tested at a hospital now because she thinks she has coronavirus. I told her she usually gets runny noses this time of year but she is convinced she has the coronavirus.

So by the CNBC stats the death toll is about 2%. Now who is dying? The old, the immunocompromised? That makes a huge difference. I would not put too much stock in what the Express says. A little better than click bait, but not much. I applaud the Chinese gov for implementing curfews. They seem to be making an effort to stop the spread as best they can. Personally, I think it is a great time to travel. Without the Chinese, there will be far fewer crowds throughout Asia and in Europe. Airfares have already tumbled. Saw BKK to Cairo for 15K Baht return on Emirates. BKK to Osaka for less than 6k return. Want to see Angkor Wat? Now is the time.

For sure discounted hotels, air fares complementary upgrades makes this a great time to travel. I see very little risk of contracting anything problematic coronavirus or otherwise although I would certainly avoid visiting China. The understanding of this disease continues to grow and the effects if contracted range from mild to serious. Most people with severe reactions have been older or had significant existing medical conditions similar to what is seen in people who have other respiratory illnesses, such as influenza from which hundreds of thousands die each year. It is not to be underestimated but the media have had a field day in creating a Hollywood pandemic plague like news cycle. The biggest concern is how long before a vaccine is developed and here the forecast ranges from 1 to 2 years. The efforts worldwide to contain it should eventually reduce new infections and fewer which hopefully will ease the minds of those overly concerned. I'm off for my favorite spring break to Japan and with some luck some of that renowned Japanese service.

Has anyone else noticed a strange lull in the number and frequency of Line messages from the girls with reports of sickness, hospital stays and deaths of moms, dads, grandmoms, grandads, babies, brothers, sisters, etc. and asking for money to help pay for it since this coronavirus thing began?

Regarding the cremations, at the CDC press conference the other day, one news organization there stated that they had spoken with the funeral companies in Wuhan who stated that they were working 24/7. They also said that the cremations from the hospitals were about 30% of the current work and 70% were bodies picked up from private residences. Also, backing up the "smog" created by the cremations, a UK news organization raised this issue recently. It may be because more people choose to use cremation instead of burial even if they not sure if the deceased die of the new virus or not.

DMK is a place to avoid at all costs even in the best of times. Unless of course if you're PRC.

Maybe the Indian men can use their low risk of coronavirus to convince previously unwilling Thai girls to go with them. Just tell the Thai girls India has far far fewer CV cases per capita than Japan, Korea, USA, Germany, Australia, Britain, etc.

Is that because there are much fewer persons returning to India from Hubei? Does India have a high well off Chinese population that can afford trips to China?

Even a small percentage would be a lot in amongst the billion.

Any quarantine would not be self imposed. The rest of the world would cut off Thailand. The Thai government is playing a very risky game in hoping that there will be no outbreak, or that like China, it would be able to hide it from the rest of the world. Considering the fact that most nations do not trust the PRC to tell the truth about the current situation, Thailand would not be prepared nor is it capable to take the drastic actions that China is now implementing on its citizens.

As an example of the PRC not telling the truth, Hubei area has a significant smog problem over Wuhan city. The CO2 emissions normally are from car exhaust in typical times. However, there are no vehicles running in the Hubei region. The CO2 "smog" appears to be coming from the crematoriums which are supposedly running 24/7 and the workers complaining of not being able to go home. The deaths of 1,000 people would not be creating such a situation. Only if the deaths were in the 10,000's would such a drastic situation be occurring. That is why no one really trusts the China government. For Thailand to emulate that government model would be a big mistake.
