Given all the talk of worsening prices, looks and attitudes in Pattaya, Phuket etc, are many guys finding luck away from these areas?

I've had great fun in the Provinces of Philippines. However, with the English challenges outside big cities, is this as much of an option in Thailand?

I speak zero Thai.

I wouldn't consider HH a mongering destination. Rub and tug joints and maybe with some effort you could get someone longish term. HH is mainly where Thais go to the beach withing driving distance from Bangkok since Pattaya has become an in your face mongering destination. It's a nice quiet place but nothing like Pattaya if options are important to you. Likewise I haven't been to Pattaya in 25 yrs, just not my kind of scene. Hua Hin isn't either but for mongering Pattaya is hard to beat within driving distance from Bangkok.

I like Hua Hin. More laid back then Pattaya with much better beaches. I went to Phuket once and since I discovered Hua Hin I have never been back. It is a 3 to 4 hour car ride from Bangkok.

Could you elaborate on what is meant by "free money"? Because if it means he considered the African girl to be a freebie, maybe he was asking for trouble. Those girls don't fly in at great cost from another continent to put out for free in Thailand. Or was it he gave her money in exchange for nothing? Uhm ... funny story.

The day he met her he gave her 2400 baht for sex. He went to where she was staying at Red Planet. I explained to him how those chicks are slaves and their passports are confiscated on arrival and they usually all stay at a place in Jomtien. He said that must explain why she only had a picture of her ID on her phone. The next day he randomly saw her outside and he gave her 1000 baht (free money. No sex no nothing) because he is a nice guy. A few days later we were on Walking Street and saw her. He wanted to go over and say something. I said dude when you see chicks after you have hit just wave and keep walking. You do not have to schmooze with them and tell them how much you miss them.
