Hey all,

Planning a trip for the first time to Thailand exclusively for mongering. Plan on being there for a week, and operating on a slightly tight budget. What cities\towns would you recommend a first timer go to where there's a decent chance of getting laid? Is Thailand even worth it now with the political crisis in the country?

exactly and that (despite what "rick rock" was claiming last year) is precisely what makes bangkok way more interesting than for example new york city. and when you're a bit out of the city, lets say in a shopping mall, sometimes you got so many eyeballs on you, its like they haven't seen a farang in years. then lets say you're on the subway and you look like you need directions or whatever,. all sort of girls trying to help you w / o even you asking. nothing to do with hitting you per se, but instead just just trying to help you out, however many seem like they want to practice their english skills. but regardless its a quite a change from big cities in the usa. in nyc unless you're something like (madmen's) don draper, a guy over 40 is practically invisible to cute girls in their 20's let alone 18 or 19 years old.

I think the ladies are looking to be compensated in some form for their time; be it experiences (dinner / night life) gifts or cash. How much cash you give her depends on how much you have spent on her already, how long she stays with you, and how satisfactory the experience was.

Discretely slip her some cash as she is leaving and call it "taxi money. " I donno on the amount maybe 1500 to 2000 baht sounds about right.

I believe that the Thai ladies would not date a farang if they didn't have to do it (they need money). Frankly do you think that we are attractive for them, especially if the age difference is big? I'm going to give them some money if the sex will be good.

Oddly, in this group, if a girl really likes you, it's likely she might put off the sex for the second date (just so she doesn't feel slutty).

My experience is much closer to this. If I want an Isaan lass with a 6th grade education I don't need a web site to do it. I always used the sites to find a demographic closer to what you've described.

I'm too lazy to use dating sites, but I know men who do. They tell me the same thing. They have sex with almost all of the women they meet on the first date. Remember these are Thai women who agree to a date with a farang. These women may believe there is an expectation they will have sex with the man on the first date and accept this when they agree to go out.

I think this is a misconception. Men love to brag of their exploits, and 50% is close enough to "almost all". If you narrow the search for single moms from Issan working as a waitress or maid with those bargirl looks, yeah, they'll likely sleep with you on the first date. If they don't speak English, you don't speak Thai, and you don't immediately turn them off, what else is there to do?

I have given 0% of them money. It all depends on your game and chemistry. If you are not doing it home then don't expect to do it elsewhere. If I want a hooker then I prefer to choose them live and on the spot rather than wasting time doing it through a website.

I agree on this, but as for everyone YMMV. As I said, if you are a visitor tehre is only reason to sue a dating site and it is to find someone to take to bed.

It does not mean it is the best strategy and the most successfull. That is another story.

They are good to dream at the opportunities available but it is a waste of time: if you are abroad, the girls wishes to see you "soon", if you are there it takes too long to be sure soemthing will happen.

When I was a young man in the 1970's, there were popular pickup bars where everyone in the bar assumed everyone was their looking for someone of the opposite sex to fuck. If a lady spent more than a few minutes with you, you knew how the evening was going to end. Over time that scene has changed. I suspect over time the expectations of Thai women who use dating sites may also change.

Yes, but let's face it, 95% of the guys being here and using dating sites are doing so just as web pick up bar, hunting for a night stand.

This is also confirmed by many guys inviting the girl straight to their room at 4 pm (certainly not for a romantic candle light dinner) and the girls ready to do so, even if not mentioning money before hand. But surely expecting some sort of taxi money. Especially if one is a non resident foreigner.

So I would not neither blame the guy for the question, nor I think he might not be in a position or never has been dating normal women.

To add my song sateng, if she's a hooker looking for customers, say on DIA, then she will mention money. Or, perhaps nice gifts or similar. But there will be discussion of some sort of compensation. If she's not a hooker she won't. Of course, the non-hookers won't jump into bed with you after a couple of chats on DIA and a bowl of som tam.

I've met several civvies on DIA over the years. Some I got to sleep with, some not. NONE of them mentioned money and, had I offered, there would have been a scene. I've also met plenty of hookers (defined as any woman who will exchange sex for money or other compensation) on DIA and, brother, if you can't tell the difference after a 30 minute chat, you have some serious interpersonal issues.

I will say, however, that in a traditional dating scenario you will probably be expected to pay for the bulk of the evening. Normal girls will usually offer to chip in for things, or drive, or things like that. But you make far more money than she does, even if she has a good job, so it's only fair. I've read about some dickweeds that insist the girl split the cost of everything.
