I would say they are extremely rare. After well over 1000 women on 6 continents here is my breakdown:

What's the point of sending money anonymously? All you need to do is not lose her contact (LINE / phone / FB / whatever) until you come back, and perhaps exchange an occasional message to make sure she doesn't go off the grid or change contact without informing you.
