Posts: 492If you were vetting, when would you guess Americans can return?
Anyone have an educated guess on what the rules will be on returning? Is it reasonable to plan on returning early 2021? Will there be different rules?
I just asking for best guess.
Thanks.

Is it possible that even ISG reporters may not be telling the truth?

As for a Pattaya or Sukhumvit hotel isn't it much easier to just walk around and find a place when you are in town. If you're a visiting expat it's not like you'll have heavy luggage with you.

Also don't worry, the hotels in the high season are not fully booked. That's just the default setting they always use if they're not accepting bookings for ANY reason. If you're seeing this they're likely closed at the moment. TBH I'd make plans to monger at home, or Germany, or anywhere not Asia for the next year's I can't see it opening up with the army in charge. There is much more going on In Thailand than just Covid. It's going to get hectic here soon!
Read as many overseas based English news Thai websites as you can, because a lot of the discontentment is not allowed to be aired here at all.

Posts: 97Have any up-country expats been in BKK since the 22 rule opening, GFE Hotels?
Asking about the usual hotels. I know Nana Hotel is closed. Anyone currently staying at a hotel in Sukhumvit and what's the lady guest policy with the Covid paranoia? Thanks.

I'm not sure where you are quoting from but I am guessing that it's about the re-opening of the Nonthaburi Immigration office at Muang Thong Thani https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand...ng-thong-thani.
As to the reason and your speculation about timing of a definite decision I can only concur (although different Immigration Offices will have their own interpretation of any decisions).
As you sagely said TiT.

Posts: 6319The news comes as foreigners in Thailand are eagerly awaiting news regarding the current visa amnesty which at the time of publishing is due to end on 31 July.
Some have speculated that the re-opening of the temporary immigration office may be an indication that the visa amnesty will not be extended beyond its current expiry date.
However, no official announcement regarding the visa amnesty post 31 July has yet been made
