I hope you can make it to Tijuana, at least. I made a quick run to Tijuana in April, I hit Hong Kong and Adelitas, stayed at Cascadas for 3 nights. Unlike my Thai, which is worthless, my Spanish is excellent, so Mexico is super for me.

I'm a scaredy cat when it comes to covid. Mexico does not look enticing at all. The Dominican Republic looks best of all, I'm seriously considering a trip there.

That is what we call an anecdote, a sample of one. He chose to go to Phuket on the day the whole thing started and he ran into trouble because they were still figuring things out and didn't have everything in place. Thailand probably deserves some criticism for that, but those issues don't seem to be a problem anymore. They provide links for you to get insurance and book hotels and pay / schedule for testing. I had some troubles because their payment system didn't work from China, but that wasn't Thailand's fault. I have had similar problems with those types of payments from here. Otherwise, it's been a breeze. I got confirmation in 3 days and my hotel was really helpful. Maybe something will derail everything, but if that happens, it will most likely be because the virus conditions have changed, which wouldn't really be their fault. I have a super long layover in HK and then I'm sure I'll be at the Phuket airport for hours, but I am going in with a good attitude and that will get me through it without the need to make a whiny youtube video. I survived 2 weeks of lockdown hotel quarantine in Korea followed by 3 weeks lockdown quarantine in China, with similarly long horrible days and horrible food, so I surely can survive one bad day to enter Phuket sandbox. The next day I'll be in the pool and on the beach and in my bed with some beauty wrapped around me. I can deal with one really long crappy day.

I've been to BKK (5-day trip) and to Phuket multiple times.

Though I dream about owning a condo in a big city, e. G, Paris, Lisbon, Tokyo, etc. , I found BKK to be noisy, crowded but frankly, the city with the most beautiful girls I've ever see!

So my question is, if you live in BKK 9 months a year, do you get bored or do you use BKK as a base to explore Thailand and the rest of Asia?

Or maybe share why you chose to buy a condo in BKK? Very interesting to hear your story. And thanks in advance for sharing!

A follow up in relation to getting bored.

Pre covid. Work during the day, GF comes over 2 to 3 days per week. Hit a club 1 or 2 nights per week with a few fellow minded deviates. Maybe slip into a massage 1 or 2 days per week. Grab street food every day, cheap but excellent restaurants every night. Friends / acquaintances / family visiting from other countries. Bangkok is a great city. Never get bored.

During Covid. Most of everything is shut or limping along. Yes it is boring, but so are most places in the world at the moment.

I have been a small business / digital nomad for the last 25 years. My current situation made sense to be based in Asia. So through the process of elimination I decided on Bangkok.

4 Other cities that I have spent time in and considered: Singapore (a little boring, poor value for money, great hub and infrastructure), Hong Kong (Same as Singapore but much more lively, but the China Factor is a deal breaker), Kuala Lumpur (a little boring but does provide great value for money, good infrastructure, ok as a hub), Saigon (great value for money, infrastructure for my line of work not quite there, amazing women, Really Amazing Women!

Decided on Bangkok due to good infrastructure where I live (Ploenchit - 2 BTS stops from Siam), Great Food, Territorial Tax regime (which is nice! Easy living, good hub for visiting the rest of Thailand as well as Air links to Europe / Middle East / Asia. I think much more beautiful and fun women can be found in Vietnam, Hong Kong and or even Philippines. However in a city of 10 m souls you can easily find 1 or 10 hotties that will rock your world.

I think I will use BKK as a base for next 3 to 5 years, then I will be 50 and probably head to Europe. There are some very tasty women in the south of Europe.

I received an email about my COE and it's been approved. It's a happy day.

Weirdly, I joined a few facebook groups yesterday about jobs in my field in Thailand and I had two places email me for my CV. I then met with one this afternoon and she offered me a job on the spot. It's on Phuket in one of the non-Patong towns sometimes mentioned on this forum and the pay is 90 K baht per month. I only plan to do this for one year, so I'm thinking I should just at the chance. 90 K a month seems like plenty to find an apartment, pay for stuff, have some fun, and still save some money. I was looking at AirBNB places and it looks like I can get a nice smallish one bedroom with a kitchen for like 10 k baht per month.

I have to let her know by the end of the week if I'm taking it. I won't be able to monger as much as originally intended because I'll need to be respectable, but there will certainly be time for it. And I can stay for a year instead of 45 days.

Can we trust these fb pages. Because they don't have much guarantee. Once I was invited to a event. But there weren't anything which were mentioned in the event page.

I have a condo in Pratumnak. Once Covid is over, I will return to my practice of taking frequent trips, to places like Macau, KL, Singapore, etc.

I made a reservation.

The cost is complicated because I had a VIP card. Also, I went during the week, when rooms are much cheaper. I believe they retail about $100 for a jacuzzi suite.

So you keep telling us all. Not to be rude but reports like yours are of marginal interest to me or most others. There are similar folk to you living in the Philippines and the same applies with them. They are either fantasists who lie they have sex with hookers or they are obsessed with pictures of vaginas. They are like those nutters who send dick pics to hookers.

The Phuket sandbox picture was informative as it gave a take on getting into Thailand under current conditions. Based on that video, it is far too much hassle for too little return.

The other videos I drew attention to were walkabout videos showing how dead Pattaya, Bkk etc are now. The best of those videos serve two purposes. They show how very hard Thais have it at the moment. They show if one goes to Pattaya, one goes to a ghost town.

I don't really see Pattaya, since the ladies come to me, and I basically make the run to Foodmart for supplies every day or two. So, I don't get out much.

I plan to take the baht bus to Soi Honey tomorrow to try to get a haircut, and then I will see the long blocks of closed shops.

As far as photos of vaginas, I get plenty of real ones every day. Too many to really remember what they like. I personally think it is a lot worse at the moment compared to pre covid. Most of the super stars have gone to ground and there is not much of any new talent coming through. Yes, there are the usual suspects still here, lots of 5's and 6's but no fresh hotties coming to town. My number of doable girls in my phone has steadily dropped since 2020.

Adding to this there is not much to do at the moment, everywhere is locked down. Bars have more or less been shut since Songkran (April). Even before this the bars were struggling as there have been no foreign tourists here since Feb 2020 so little in the way of new hotties, customers or atmosphere.

I am hoping for things to get moving again in 2022 so there will be some fresh talent coming through and hopefully more things to do at night.

Yep, if you want gogo superstars or fresh girls, Pattaya would be worthless.

But if you like gentlemens club ladies who are eager to please, there is no lack.

Pre-Covid, I rarely went to gogos, I hit the GCs, they were my staple. Or other bars on Soi Chaiyapoon. And rarely went to Soi 6 looking for fresh talent.

The rumor is that restaurants will open in September, so my lady friends may be working again, and I can stop with the 5 ladies a day routine.

I'm not going to comment on the accuracy of anyone's post but I will say that it's not uncommon to see two people with wildly different views of the same place at the same time. It's just horses for courses:. Different people enjoy different things.

We had the same thing in the Angeles City thread pre pandemic: some guys lamented the change for the worse in the bar culture while other were posting about the great times they were having.

The solution is pretty simple:. If you don't like what you are seeing or reading, move on to what you find more enjoyable. No-one is holding a gun to your head keeping you there.
