I will stop postponing my flights and request a final refund. And take care of other business.

Does anyone here have a Thailand Elite visa which costs 500,000 to 2 million baht? Anyone know if people with Elite visas are getting in to Thailand or if they're at least extending the 5 year period for the cheap Elite visa?

The Thai Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand, or CAAT announced this evening that they have extended a ban on international inbound travel to Thailand until at least the end of June.

This has very limited exceptions, such as repatriation of Thai nationals or supply and cargo. Foreigners, even those with work permits, family or elite visas, even willing to do state quarantines, will remain banned from entry.

Mostly, the few people allowed into Thailand are Thai's returning home, diplomats and a few others.

I came very close to getting one last year because I can't apply for a Retirement Visa as I'm under 50. I'd be p1ssed if I got one and my time was ticking while being denied entry.

Would anyone pay 500k if it allowed you in to Thailand while the borders were still closed? I could visit all my gogo girls and their families in Rayong!

Thailand has announced they will concentrate on Generation Y aged 23-40 for foreign tourism. Looks like MP and Uncle V will have Thailand to themselves as they are the only ISG members I have met who fall in this age category.

Do please furnish details of the announcement and by whom it was announced. Ministry of Tourism and Sport (MOTS)? Tourist Authority of Thailand (TAT)?

I am surprised that I overlooked this in the Bangkok Post, The Nation, Pattaya News, Pattaya Mail, The Thaiger, Khaosod English et al. Or maybe they all missed this blockbuster exclusive?

I don't get it. I think 30-50 would be a better demographic for people with disposable income that aren't too skinflint.

Well it may be time for me to return to Thailand. I was there in the 60's and recently only go to China 4 times per year (I have been to Cambodia once last year). Oh, and I will be 80 this year but I look about 60 or so according to all my friends.

I thought the Thais wanted to attract the group that stays in nice hotels and spend money. Not the young backpack crowd renting 4000 baht apartments and eating 30 baht noodles in Chiang Mai. They want the middle class segment versus the crowd that brags they can survive of 18 k baht a month.
