Back then you could RTFF and actually find quite a bit of useful information and actionable intel.

Now a days the forums are increasingly cluttered with jive talk, smack talk, combative alter egos, politics, untruths, falsehoods, third hand information consolidators, and people who have never been to Thailand yet talk authoritatively.

It is entertaining for the short time trolls who come and go, but bad for the punters and hobbyists looking to gain some practical knowledge.

FL still goes to Thailand more often than most of us. So dedicated he even did the full 14 day quarantine when it first came available. I believe he stopped posting because there was just too much negativity on this board. Anyone who has met FL knows he's a glass half full kind of guy.

I think I was with Haven his final nights in Thailand. He just seemed to have dropped off the scene after that. No longer in touch with him so don't know how he is. Can't believe that was 4 years ago.

Mick is probably still here under another Alias 😊.

He was MP LURKER, SYZYGIES and probably another handle by now.

I have only a few more nights in Pattaya before I leave for Brazil. So, I am going with my favorite ladies from 2021.

Tonight, I booked a room at the Cape Dara Resort, and will drink drink some wine with a Mamasan who works in LK Metro. The hot tub generally motivates Thai ladies, probably because it's rare for them.

    What ever happened to?

I sometimes wonder about the good posters like Giotto, OTH, Mick Licker, Duniawala, 1 Ball, Pita123, Haven123 and (more recently) FL Hawk who seem to have disappeared. I know Giotto made a surprise reappearance here last year. Hope these guys are OK. Some of us are getting up there in age.

So true. So many guys have told me they're coming to Thailand for the past 7 years. I've told them they missed the boat, even in 2020 pre-COVID. Same for Germany for the past 12 years. Show me you're serious and I will help you.

I spent from February to October reading and following the Thai forum daily. I asked some questions. I had the help of some experienced guys who I knew from the Germany forums like Breadman, Finnish Fucker, and Syzygies. I got called out by a prominent member on ISG to RTFF and ironically he has since become a good friend of mine in real life.

However, to be fair to new guys when we first started there was plenty of useful information on the board. Now guys post about their nights out without even naming the bars they visited or girls. Someone like ET and I haven't gotten along over the years but I will be the first to thank him for his posts now as they are detailed and provide information.

Bottom line, do what you feel, ask what you want and ignore the passive aggressive or negative replies, no one owns this forum and last time I checked, it's not against the rules to ask questions.
I came to this forum 17 years ago and asked a question. I was told by OTH to RTFF. I did not understand it then, but I do now.

When I travel with chicks or go visit chicks I always ask them what we are going to do. Most have no clue. I tell them to look on the internet then. They will try the we will figure it out when you get here card. No. I need to know what to pack, how much money I will need, and other sorts of things depending on the activities that are planned. Most chicks are just too lazy to do the simple google searches and want someone else to figure it out. It is the same for people that come up and ask questions before they have read tff.

In primary school we would go to class and the teacher would teach us something, then she would send us home to practice what we had learned that day. When I got to graduate school we had to do what people mean when they say RTFF. We were expected to have already have read over and studied the new material, then we came to class and asked specific questions about things we may not have understood.

Some guys come on here with a primary school mentality expecting someone else to take the time to plan out their vacation and hand them the itinerary. People saying RTFF are grad school professors saying to put your big boy pants on and plan out your own vacation and then ask for clarification on any specifics.

It really is sad for someone to come on here and ask where are the best girls or how much do I need to pay chicks. To me that gives off a vibe that they don't have intentions of even traveling in the first place. I have encountered this multiple times with my own friends. Asking the same damn questions over and over. I got to the point where I do not give any information until they show me they have a ticket.

    RTFF. Read The Fucking Forum

I remember a time 15 years ago when a Noob to Thailand would come and ask questions only to be told to RTFF (Read The Fucking Forum) and, I never really understood that hostility.

I was once a Noob, and even though back in early 2000 I would devour hundreds of pages of these forums like ISG (BTF, Stickman, BA. All defunct now) but they never seemed to really answer all the questions I had. I always was left with 1 or 2 grey areas that I would have loved cleared.

At the time, it was also pretty hostile to newbs and their "stupid" or "Repetitive" questions, but thankfully, there was always a few guys willing to help out and I will always be grateful to them. GIOTTO, OTH, MICK LICKER, DUNIAWALA, 1 BALL, PITA123 to name a few (names from another set of decades, I know).

My HUGE advantage was that I was coming to Bangkok to work, I had time to discover everything, trial and error type of thing and so I did.

I tried places and reported on them, shared with everyone so that a few people would benefit (the same way other guy's reviews helped me).

However, P4 P is not simple and I quickly learned it was NOT OK to write descriptive reviews anymore. Several reasons:

    1. Pricing is not always fixed and the price a girl charges for Customer A isn't the same as the one she charges Customer be:

    A) She discriminates by skin color.

    B) You're cute, she likes you and wants you to take her, even for a little less than the other guy sitting across the bar she's not very fond of.

    B) You're the only customer willing to take her that day.

    C) She's tired from 3 customers that day so to be her 4th you have to be generous.

    D) She needs a place to stay the night, she's willing to go LT for ST price (that day).

    2. She's doing something with you she's not usually doing with others.

    3. As soon as you write a glowing review about a girl, be prepared to say goodbye to her, for her to disappear, Busy with all the forum readers now hunting for her.

    4. Not everyone reading this forum is trustworthy.

Girls have been upset with me because some customers PRINTED my review and showed it to her, demanding exactly the same! (I'm serious).

Bottom line, do what you feel, ask what you want and ignore the passive aggressive or negative replies, no one owns this forum and last time I checked, it's not against the rules to ask questions.

If people want to help you great, if not, just can move to the next post.

I understand tourists here for a short time, you don't want to make mistakes, you want to get it as right as you possibly can. Also guys visiting with their families and with only a window of a few hours to play.

Aren't we here because we want to build a loyal, harmonious brotherhood? Ready to help each other have the best time possible?

Or maybe I misunderstood the purpose of the forum.

I agree with you, poor form at its best.

Mr. Sideways should go back at least 100 pages in the forums for Bangkok and Pattaya and read all the traffic up to the present day. He should take notes as he does so. He should also use his favorite search engine to locate points of interest on a map, which will give him a basic understanding of the areas of interest to naughty boys visiting both cities. Finally, he should look at the web sites collecting hotel and restaurant reviews.

Once he has done his homework, Mr. Sideways can ask specific questions about topics that have not yet been addressed, or about topics where the guidance may have changed recently. Otherwise he's just wasting everybody's time.

During normal times, yes. However, these are desperate times, and LBs who are desperate for customers might be more willing to conceal their status.

    Thanks

To everyone that has replied offering advice. I have also spent a day reading through the forum. All very insightful and I feel more informed as to where to go in Bangkok, the rules of engagement (LOL) and approximate prices. I appreciate the guidance gents.

These girls can easily spot that I'm a tourist, but for my short time girls I've come up with a phrase that reduces the rush: "I'll be here for another 3 weeks. " They then see me as a potential repeat customer and tend to stick around longer than I want them.
