The easiest way to come is through the Phuket or Samui sandbox programs. You can come into Bangkok or other places, but if you do, you will have to do a 2-week quarantine in a hotel where you cannot leave your room. If you come through one of the sandboxes, you can do your quarantine without staying in your room. You can't leave those islands during the two weeks, but after the two weeks, you can then travel within Thailand (there are travel restrictions, which you'll have to find based on when you are coming and where there are outbreaks).

So I don't know where you want to travel, but let's say you want to come to Pattaya. You could come into Bangkok and take a quarantine car to Pattaya and stay in a hotel there in your room for 2 weeks and then you would be in Pattaya and you could do what you wanted there. Or you could fly into Phuket and and spend 2 weeks hanging out at the beach and being outside your room, then travel to Pattaya freely (assuming there are no restrictions on travel to there) and spend the rest of your time in Pattaya.

Fly into Pattaya: Benefits. You'll be where you are trying to go, flight cost to Bangkok might be a little cheaper.

Fly into Pattaya: Downsides. You have to stay in your room for 2 weeks.

Fly to Phuket / Samui. Benefits - no quarantine in room, sex with ladies for those 2 weeks.

Fly to Phuket / Samui. Downsides - You'll have to find a way to get to Pattaya (I think there are cheap flights still running once or twice a week), cost might be a bit more (but not too much).

I am taking the Phuket sandbox route because I spent 5 weeks in quarantine in Korea and China trying to get back to my job in China and it sucked. The food would probably be better in Thailand, but it was just no fun at all. In Phuket, I can go outside and get exercise and enjoy the beautiful scenery and have sex. No contest in my book. From what it sounds like, I'll be able to find girls on ThaiFriendly who will fill the sex need and, if I can't get to Pattaya or Bangkok, so be it. I'll still have a great time. There's plenty to do and see on Phuket for a month.

Coming from USA which airport would I transit thru to Phuket? USA airlines do not have direct flights to phuket. Flights to Hong Kong, Tokyo and Singapore.

Google "certificate of entry Thailand" and you'll find everything you need. There are additional hoops and it's a bit of a pain, but it's all doable. You need to be vaccinated and do a 2 week quarantine if you coming to anywhere other than Phuket or Samui. In those two places, you have to stay on the island and have COVID tests, but you are free to roam around.
