I broke up with 20 years old Gik yesterday.

We were having a good time shopping at Central World and planning on going to see a movie when she asked me (or "told" would fit better) to carry her handbag for her. I stopped and looked at her, stunned.

I nicely told her that I would feel weird carrying around a lady's handbag and that it would be better she keep it with her. She went nuts.
She told me that I have to treat her as a princess because she is my girlfriend and I have to do what she like because I love her.

All the while she was trying to explain herself I was thinking "What? is she for real?"
She said that all her ex-boyfriends do whatever she want and they always buy her many gifts and carry her bags and that a man should do this for his girlfriend and that I do not love her if I do not carry the bag and Bla Bla Bla...

What the Fuck? She never asked me for a penny and I know that she is very well off (Rich Family) but I was not going to let her play "little Princess".

I told her that I would never carry a lady's handbag, I would carry Shopping bags, yes, but I was not about to be the Docile Puppy that bows to all her desires. She said that Thai man would do it for their Love because it is how it has to be.

She would not stop telling me about how she should be treated and that I was lucky that she is my girlfriend because she is so pretty and not a bad girl and that she never ask me for money and, and and....

I told her that while I appreciated the fact that she is beautiful and sweet I am not ready to be an obedient Sheep and would do what I please when I please. You could see the confusion on her face! she was so certain that I would obey her, she did not know how to react. I saved her the hassle of losing face.

I told her I really liked her but this is not the kind of relationship I was expecting I told her that maybe I am not the right person for her and that she deserves someone that will treat her like the Princess she is.

How can I now escape? well, I could not. We carried on with our Plans (very quiet dinner) but skipped the movie, I told her I was tired and she said she was tired too. We went on our separate ways.

I later sent her an SMS saying "Maybe it not good to continue, you should get a better boyfriend" (ego stroking for her).
She did not reply.

Game Over.

Now I am left with no GF, no Gik and only a 53 years old lady ready for me to go fuck her whenever I am horny.

Looks like I will do P4P a lot more.

for the first time in 2008, i got stunned yesterday! left speechless by something i saw on soi 4 near annies parking lot.

i was walking towards annies when i saw a cop (yes, a real one with gun and uniform, not your garden variety "rent a cop") strip from his uniform, shoving it in the trunk of his car, then putting on jeans, a tshirt and a moto-taxi orange jacket.

he closed the car, hopped on a honda click and went on his way.

was he on a "special undercover mission"? or just working 2 jobs? well, that taught me not to argue with moto-taxis anymore, you never know who these people really are.

I don't know whether or not it will be strongly enforced, but I think that more and more Internet cafes will require that people show their ID in the near future. Probably not all but most of them sooner or later. As you say, only time will tell...

I've noticed several changes in the past. I don't know if it is required by law or just a recent internal policy, but now, most of (or maybe all) the local banks in my area require my passport when I want to exchange money, but it was not the case a few years ago in the same establishments. I know several places (for instance in Bangkok) where it is not the case though.

I tell you right now, even if it was in affect for over 2 years I have no intention of showing my I.D. for something as stupid as this! I seriously doubt that it would be enforced! There are laws now like driving too fast or wearing a helmet but I don't see strict enforcement of those rules. How can they enforce laws or rules when the people who are paid to enforce them are breaking the rules themselves. I see daily in Pattaya, cops riding around without helmets etc...

Like in the U.S. in cities they have laws that you can't talk on cellphones while driving or that you can't blast your music too loud in the car! When home I see time after time cops talking on cell phone while on patrol in their cars and have seen cars driving with boom boxes so loud that your car is swinging from side to side from the volume. Laws on the books because someone has a hair up their ass but in the end no one is going to enforce them they got more important things on their hands.

Only time will tell but I'll put my money on that it won't!

Anyone heard of problems with kidnapping or roberies on this overnite train?
A frien of mine told me he had been warned it was a risk for Farangs.

Kidnapping? This isn't Afghanistan. There used to be some robberies back in the 1970s but I haven't heard of one in at least 20 years. Each car is kept locked at night and has its own attendant/guard. If you want even more security than that, the train down the east coast also has armed soldiers on the Hatyai-Sungai Kolok stretch.

A friend of mine told me he had been warned it was a risk for Farangs.

I went to HatYai which is the same train last week , no problem ,
get a second class lower sleeper bunk,

I think its safer than the bus

Though I've never had to use an internet cafe in LOS, I found this to be common practice in many countries like India and even Italy. In the latter, the owner said it's the governments way of tracing terrorist-liike messages back to computer and the user.

I confirm about Italy. One has even to sign a waiver to the intermediate provider. Even if this is an hotel where he stays and wishes to connect with his laptop. So called "anti-terrorism" law, for tracking purposes.

I have never been asked to provide a I.D. to anyone! period! and never even after the stupid law was passed! They can't even monitor a driving ticket. Go somewhere else! Just smile and start using!

Sure. But it might happen more frequently alas from now on. This law took effect on July 18th 2007 but a grace period of one year was granted. That's probably why it's not much applied yet.
