In Bangkok I had no problem communicating with girls in English, in Pattaya it can be a different story. Maybe not necessarily just due to age as I have met girls (21) with decent English, but some have almost none outside of the standard questions I mention above.

This may not be worth the bother for many, but I find that even a little back and forth can lead to a more fun session with the girl. Certainly not a guarantee of great service, but at least something to do while we are finishing drinks.
It takes some time, but learning basic Thai is quite helpful. Reading is, of course, another story entirely. But at least it is better than the pictograph based languages (like Chinese or Japanese).

One reason EVA costs less is that for the bargain basement fares, THEY DON'T GIVE MILES.

We had a talk about fetish play, nasty talk, and women being aggressive in bed. She was not into any of it and said, "I am not a dirty girl. " This coming from a gal who had been poked by scads of dudes. Thai women are still considered "bad girls" if they are overt about their sexuality, and most of the times that extends to the bedroom. Yes, there are exceptions; but this is the rule. They are not in the least sexually liberated.

Also, have you noticed the way Thai gals are dressing these days? As frumpy as it gets. Even among the freelancers you won't see tight sexy clothes. If you see short shorts on the streets of BKK, you can rest assured it's a tourist. This was not the case 4 years ago, but it is now. Uni gals used to basically compete to see who could wear the shortest tightest uniform. That's over. Longer skirts are the rule.
I'm not sure exactly what you mean by being aggressive in bed, nasty talk & fetish play. Were you talking about BDSM? There are hundreds of fetishes such as those related to clothing & perhaps nowhere else on earth are there more sex workers dressed in uniforms, such as school girl outfits, than Thailand.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexual_fetishism

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexual_roleplay

I'd suggest that by the example of being "sexually liberated" you described in paragraph one, a girl not being into "fetish play, nasty talk, and women being aggressive in bed", every country in the world is generally full of women who are not "sexually liberated". The vast majority of women worldwide are conservative when it comes to sex.

My sexual experiences are with sex workers, not non working women. Having been with dozens of ladies of the street in each of Thailand, Canada and Singapore, I didn't see much difference between the first two countries re things you mentioned. Neither nationality were aggressive or took the initiative in sex. Although in Singapore quite a few of the dozens of Vietnamese gals showed more acting or enthusiasm in the sack. They were also as a group whiter & to my taste more stunning than those who entertained me in Bangkok. BTW word has it that Indonesian females are great in the sack, but I have only been with one of them. They also, along with many PRC, can be found on the streets of SG.

Perhaps the fact she of G-Spot, a long term sex provider to Westerners I guess, wasn't into such things as you mention, speaks more to the type of customers she had, or your lack of willingness to press the issue. I've had quite a few TGs unwilling at first to do something, but they usually easily relented with a little bit of educating, persuasion or incentive. I doubt Western women would be as likely to give in and be submissive to your will, since TGs are not spoiled by feminism or trying to become like men or masculine. In LOS it's the opposite; many men are trying to become like women.

Thai working girls seem to me to be quite willing to be adventurous, in spite of the conservative mask they show in public or to a lesser degree initially in private alone with a client. I've never had a Canadian SP even mention animal porn, in person or on forums, over many years, let alone enjoy watching it, as one TG claimed. I imagine Western women finding it gross & appalling whereas TGs would be more likely to be curious to see more & find it a good source of amusement. Thai females are more easy going & follow the lead of men.

When it comes to kissing, Siam working lassies don't seem to have as many into it or willing as Western sex providers. I suppose this may be a cultural thing. Does this mean they are not as "sexually liberated" in the kissing department? Or do they wish to avoid losing income from getting sick via a cold etc? Or loss of face should they develop sores on or around the lips? When it comes to other activities, though, for examples DATO, BBBJ, body slides, BBFS, and massages, they seem to be more liberated than Canadians SPs.

Canada is a largely conservative Catholic & Christian country. I doubt that the idea of being a "bad girl", [Deleted by Admin] and the like is much different than it is in Buddhist Thailand. If anything Buddhists are less hung up about sex. Perhaps communists & atheists like in Vietnam are more free from the shackles of religion in regards to sexual attitudes.

Is there any doubt that Thai men are more sexually liberated than Western men in some significant ways? Young men in LOS often experience their first sex with a prostitute & this is considered perfectly normal. Married Thai men are more free than Westerners to have a mistress or visit a brothel.

Regarding Thai people's dress code, how is it any different from elsewhere in the world? In Canada business men don't dress in shorts and tank tops, even when it hits 30 degrees. If I dressed like that in LOS I'd freeze to death from the universal air conditioning.

If Thais are dressing more conservatively now, my guess is it has nothing to do with sex & everything to do with the King dying a few months ago. Or with the ever changing styles of fashion which have historically occurred all over the world. It makes more money for businesses to push regular style changes, just as the latest new cell phone of the year is the rage. All your friends have it, so you have to also.

The translation Apps between English and Thai do a pretty bad job, IMHO. As I can read Thai as well, I do know this....

Maybe my experienced is biased by being in Bangkok, but even my freelancer girl on the street can message me in English. Is it possible that all very poorly educated girls end up in Pattaya? Not sure that age of 20 is relevant.

Choose girls who can communicate very basic stuff.

Line doesn't seem to have an English-Thai translation service. All I could find was a dictionary, but it only does word by word translation (you have to look each one up) so is kinda useless for me. Girl I met sent me some weird stickers and I don't know what they mean.

Haven't used WeChat yet, but seems to be mostly used for finding FL girls by using the find people nearby function? I've filtered for girls only, but still seem to see dudes in the results. Some girls seem to openly advertise, for others not so clear. In any case, I'm a bit afraid to try as don't feel like the pictures available are enough to go by.

Just installed the English Thai translation app by GK apps so will give that a try tonight. I guess I'll have to get the girl to install it if she already doesn't have it.

Am currently looking for younger girls (about 20) and those seem to all have pretty much zero English aside from the standard questions (where from, how old, what name etc). It's taking a lot of time to break the ice, so I'd like to speed things up if possible.

Am curious as to what others are using, or doing to get around the issue I'm having. Advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

The translation Apps between English and Thai do a pretty bad job, IMHO. As I can read Thai as well, I do know this. Translate between English and German as an example, is much better. So if you translate your message from English to Thai script before you send it, you could be saying either nonsense, or something different to what you intended. If she sends you Thai script, you can try translating it, but again, risk of wrong translation and misunderstanding is high. Thai language leaves out a lot of assumed words, so resulting English is not likely to make a good sentence at all.

I recommend to ask the girl to send English messages to you, still a risk of misunderstanding, but if she does not, then maybe best to forget it. Even though I can read Thai, most of my LINE girls, still send me English messages unless they are in a "Thai" mood. I do have one or two exceptions who really do not speak English at all (or don't wish too. LOL including my GF). However maybe you should be avoiding this type of girls.

Maybe my experienced is biased by being in Bangkok, but even my freelancer girl on the street can message me in English. Is it possible that all very poorly educated girls end up in Pattaya? Not sure that age of 20 is relevant.

Do chat Apps really work for two people without any common language?

Yes. Nice ROC airline with pretty flight attendants. Better than the PRC ones. Not the latest equipment but it is nice and lower priced and clean. Most flights require a TPE hub transit.

I flew from IAH to BKK via TPE last fall. It was a decent, airline or at least better than most. I found it a bit uncomfortable because the flight was full. But, the price was right. TPE is their hub and they seem to be the dominant airline. BTW, the TPE Taoyuan airport is really nice and the duty free liquor is a bargain! I bought a fifth of Chivas for $14 US but for people who like the single malt Scotch you have a good selection.

I recently priced a flight from IAH to MNL and found it was very reasonable. But, when I priced the same flight just to TPE is was substantially higher! One of the odd airfare paradoxes where a longer connecting flight is much cheaper. I've seen that happen in the US, too.

Thai / English translation technology is garbage. It's not like german to english or whatever. Don't worry about it. They speak English if they are looking to provide a good time for money. Easily enough English to facilitate the meeting.

Its the first time I tried that flight, and coming from a 50 minute delayed departure at London (not uncommon these days), the transfer time of 45 minutes was obviously a problem. Anyway Qatar airways looked after the 13 of us pretty well, and offered choice of the same flight following day, or Manila and bus transfer 7 hours later same day. So we took that, and finally arrived at Clark 12 hours late. I had cancelled my airport pick up to Queens Hotel, but was able to get a drop off, as the "bus transfer" from Manila turned into a fleet of 7 seater taxis with 3 - 4 in each.!

Knock on wood, CX has always taken care of me. Had been diverted a several times because of weather and everyone got put up. They just loaded the same plane and crew the next day. The higher up the food chain you are with them, the better the service. Had good resolutions with BA and LH in and outbound. I don't know your specific situation, but I would much rather have flight delay problems in Asia. I usually get put up for free. 3 months ago, I was getting put up by UA because of a mechanical problem and I heard the supervisor tell the staff to stop issuing vouchers. Not sure what happened to the sods behind me traveling on their own dime.
    Shemp,

FYI report from AC thread. Just an example of how the major non-US airlines take care of their customers. Service is better and staff are prettier.

Internationally, it is a different ballgame due to the distant most people travel, they also still hold the old school rule, take care of the passenger. Two years back I used Cathay Pacific through Hong Kong to Bangkok. Due to HK being their headquarters I was unable to get on a flight for near two days as Standby, the supervisor was kind enough to let me into their lounge to use and shower but there were agents who also treated like shit so typical in general of a Airline own and run by the government.
