Thailand has announced they will concentrate on Generation Y aged 23-40 for foreign tourism. Looks like MP and Uncle V will have Thailand to themselves as they are the only ISG members I have met who fall in this age category.

I thought the Thais wanted to attract the group that stays in nice hotels and spend money. Not the young backpack crowd renting 4000 baht apartments and eating 30 baht noodles in Chiang Mai. They want the middle class segment versus the crowd that brags they can survive of 18 k baht a month.

I'm guessing the average age of people on these Thai forums is 50-53 but I doubt anybody knows for sure. I haven't heard from our favorite Uncle in a while. Hope he's doing well. I miss reading about his adventures.

If you look around the tourist area in Pattaya imo the average age is well over 60 for Farang, or at least these guys look well over 60 to me. Guys in beer bars looking for cheap beer and cheap girls are the oldest group. The youngest group would easily be the Walking Street gogo bars with most guys being under 30 at gogo bars like Palace. Mainly younger Asian men and older Farang guys. This is the general makeup that I see. Same for the FKK clubs in Germany. Younger Asian guys and older Caucasian guys. The Indian gangs hanging out at the Soapies and along Beach Road in Pattaya are also young.

Uncle V is stuck in Phnom Penh during COVID. Lucky him because the bars have reopened and the girls are starting to return.

What part of the Generation why aged 23-40 market? Beach bums, back packers? Families and women are where the money is as they shop. Men just buy beer and broads. I can't see mothers going there if their kids are to risk Covid19. Younger each bums maybe but they are not renowned big spenders.

Where did you see this? Curious. I'm looking for it and cannot find it. I fall into that category and am heading there in Jan but would be nice to have a place to see these updates.

That being said at 41 I am on the tail end if they want to cater to me and send some girls to pick me up at the airport I won't complain.

Going back to USA hoping it is a equal or better monger destination?

I'm a rare monger in the USA, I have a off and on GF. Usually I'll go to Vegas. But, ya can't live overseas without checking in at home once in a while for a real Doctor, talk to the accountant, pretend the biz needs you, smoke some real weed, buy some decent clothes, etc.
