Just got back from Bangkok and can report that the Rainbow Family of Bars are crap.

The girls on stage and on the floor look genuinely disinterested in their job. Many of the girls on stage are literally messaging on their phones when they are supposed to be dancing.

If I didn't know better I would say that either there is a morale problem among the girls, or the girls get too high of a base salary and aren't motivated to get customers.

Recently discovered (on the internet) a BKK district called Samut Prakan. Looked interesting. That is, quite a number of street level open air cafes with a lot of really good looking and well-dressed freelancers waiting for company. Mostly Asian men of unknown nationality were observed in a video. (Can't find the video at the moment, so can't provide a link. Sorry.) There are a number of "clubs" in the area. (Query Rich Club Bangkok).

I'm curious if anybody here has been to that area and can provide an opinion of options, specific venues, and prices.

Samut Prakan is the province where Suvarnabhumi airport is located. The closet city to the airport is Lat Krabang, where there are some bars.

What do people consider a minimum to spend to have a good night in Bangkok?

I've been to Samui many times, but the last 2 weeks feels like more tourists than ever before. Multiple times every table full at my favored restaurants. Get a hotel that's comfortable for you and the crowds won't be a problem. The problem is there are very few attractive girls available now.

In Bangkok I spend about 5000 baht per night total. I'm not a drinker, I make my selection and get out.

Also just got back from Thai trip. In Bangkok geez prices have changed. Ok you can get FL for 1500/2000 off Sukhumvit but usually its a quick f and go. But geez go to the bars and its probably a minimum of 6000 to guarantee a good time with a great girl. Maybe 8000 to get the ultimate. I can't compete with the cashed up millionaires.

TF, Wechat etc. Really hit and miss. Is Thai pussy getting out of financial reach for the average man?

Adjust and overcome. In a free market when something becomes too expensive you substitute it with something more reasonable priced. If you can't afford a BMW you don't go without a car you just drive a Toyota or a Chevy. If you think 8"s, 9"s and 10"s are out of your price range then find you a woman with a 6 face and a 9 body. Just flip her over face down and pretend she is all 9. There are other places in Asia where pussy is cheaper but they have there own problems.

Ko Samui: I've been twice. Visited a few beaches. Lamai Beach is my favorite because "swim-able". I recommend the southern end near the Aura Samui Hotel where I stayed.

Ko Larn: I stayed at Tawaen Beach. Highly recommend. Swim-able. I visited other beaches. No hobby scene. You need to BYO.

You are correct, especially for newbies. If they show any signs of becoming a customer boyfriend, the ladies will give them 100%.

I generally don't want to see a lady for more than 3 days in Pattaya, and most ladies know it.
