Absolutely. But let me tell you from experience; it's about the only good thing about turning 50.

The sure fire way is to get a Thai Elite Visa. http://www.thai-elite.com/programs.html Only criteria are money in bank (I think it's 800 k baht now), criminal record check, health check. 500 k baht for 5 years, 1 million baht for 20 years.
I believe he is on the younger side and would not qualify for a retirement visa. Thai Elite would be the way to go. 500 K for 5 years and I don't believe there is a deposit requirement.

If he's over 50, he could apply for a one-year (renewable) retirement visa, since he has the requisite financial resources.

Funny, I gave them bank statements from the USA banks showing I was withdrawing $930 or 30,000 baht every 3 days for the last year alone. How can I be working in Thailand, when I'm withdrawing money from the USA to spend in your country? She inquired about my rejection and says the consular is wary because I'm retired and do not work at such a young age. We only have to show that we have $600 for a 60 days visa. I showed much more than that plus last year I donated 2,000,000 baht to Thai charity and organizations with receipts. Upon further questioning, the consular got mad at her and told her that it's not normal for someone not to have to work and have been on vacation for the last 3 years. I'm still kind of confused to what's the problem? I've contributed over $200,000 to the Thai economy in 2017, so why can't I take a holiday there?

Anyways. I decided to take a detour to Phu Quoc Island to relax a bit. Koh Thmei, Thailand is just a fisherman's boat ride away. The things I'm able to do is shocking! Watch me get to Pattaya soon. No visa, no 30 day stamp. No problem!
You might want to check you geography whilst koh thmei might be named in the same fashion as other islands in Thai with the prefix koh, koh thmei is Cambodian as is koh kong, you would need to get to koh kut, trat province before you are back on Thai soil.

The way the hotels record everything how would one go about getting a room without the right tourist visa to show the hotel?

The consular is concerned because you are young, unemployed, and are throwing a lot of money around. It is unusual and his caution is understandable. He may think you are trafficking, dealing drugs, or doing something else that is highly profitable and illegal.

Too bad you can't show him your posts on ISG to prove you are just having fun and not up to anything bad.

Be happy you got in. Coming back in a couple of months you may not be so lucky.

As for allowances, I heard a much smaller number for year long arrangements with regular girls. The one thing I always thought important is to make sure the girl is happy and that it is sufficient. If it is not sufficient, it will increase her chances of going elsewhere if you are not on site to guard your merchandise. I would stay away from bar girls unless it is a short term arrangement. So Crazy4 Thai, your number sounds fair and reasonable. The question is can she get her job back when she tries to return.
Well to clarify, it is not MY number it is the number that SHE quoted. And as for returning to work in that beer bar I cannot imagine why not. She is a top earner there and generally speaking workers who leave on good terms are welcome to return whether it is a beer bar or restaurant or whatever. I have see this many times.

I'm heading to Bangkok for a couple of days next week and I was there about 6 or 7 times last year on visa exempt, so I'll let everyone know if I have a problem. Several of my trips were visa runs from other countries whilst waiting for work permits to come through.

I always choose a line with a female inspector, because I think women work faster. Unless maybe when it's "that time of the month" LOL.

I had a question about visa exempt entries lately and I got this reply in post #9354:

If you or the anyone else is worried about that you still have 2 other options. Check the bag or buy shaving razors after arrival. All 7-11 and Family Marts sell razons cheap as f@ck.

Besides the girls don't care if you shave or not. They only care about "how much".

As for the shop lady, she probably actually needs that daily amount. And what a bargain for you.

What if the girl only made 400-500 baht per day (ie. A girl who works in a retail store)?

Otherwise the girl has her hand out every day asking for money.

But your talking about taking a hooker for a month on your travel, that's a different story. Is she going out of Thailand with you? If not she's just going to another city where she can make money. Don't be surprised if she ends of making money her own way if you don't give her enough spending money for herself and to send home. My guess would be 2000 baht per day, 30 days would be 60,000 baht..

There is an Okamoto 002. As for QC, blow it up to fist size and stick it under a sink of water and check for leaks. Keep blowing and see if it bursts before it gets to be several times the size of your equipment. IMHO, I like the US brands because I can get prelubed with spermicide; but they are thick. Also, best to lube just before as some prelube weakens the latex. Also, with some girls, the latex just tends to fail more.

The chick on immigration was not impressed with my five 30 day visa exempt entries for all of 2017. She asked me why I didn't have a tourist visa to enter Thailand, as I was coming and going quite often to Thailand. I explained that I don't need a tourist visa as I am not staying 2 months only 30 days.

Then she asked me what I did for a living, and then asked for a return ticket. Luckily I had prepared a fake Air Asia ticket from Don Mueang to Kuala Lumpur for 3 weeks later so I showed her that. I had originally made this up in case I was asked by Air Asia check-in staff in Indonesia but they never asked.

After scrutinizing the ticket and going through all the pages of my passport for several minutes and looking terribly unimpressed, she then indicated to me to look into the webcam. So I got in. I suppose without my "onward ticket" I may not have been allowed to enter.

So be aware that even though they say that you can enter as many times as you want on the 30 day visa exempt entry, Thai Immigration don't appear to like it, and a tourist visa is probably a safer bet. It's just a hassle to pick up so I try and avoid it.
