This is my experience and others will certainly differ, so take it for whatever it's worth. I have been here in thailand for 3 months. Twice I have had women I met in bars seem to fall in love with me. I know it sounds silly or fake, but they will want to come over on their day off free. They will stay overnight and up til work time the next day. I say I am watching my budget and they have said I can just pay barfine and they come for free. That all might sound nice, but I am a nice guy and don't want to take advantage of anyone or hurt someone's feelings. I am honest for the most part, I tell them I am leaving in a month for somewhere else or whatever the case may be. I have told one I loved her after she told me she loved me.

Some of the problems from this situation is that it is hard to see others if you are worried about one. And it is hard not to worry about the one if you think she truly has feelings and emotions involved. The girl friend experience is great. I am an old guy and these women are mid 30's. I think kind of new to the bar scene. They say they are. I could be being scammed, but I don't know how, because it is them giving their time not me giving extra money.

I think new comers to here should be aware that the women here can be very loving and girl friendly and if you don't want to hurt them you might have a problem if you let things proceed unknowingly.

I am curious what others will say to this as I don't quite know what to think and imagine I am misunderstanding some things.

Yes definitely for newbies. The perspectives of foreign journalists are full of assumptions that may not be applicable in all cases. I did not watch the whole thing not finding it so interesting for a long timer.

In anticipation to my 1 week holiday in Thailand I am wondering if it is worth my while getting premium memberships with both or either Thai Friendly and Thai Cupid. I'm planning 5 day Pattaya and 2 in Bangkok and I'm not worried about spending some Baht for sex from the bars etc but scoring a freebie is a boost to every middle aged mans ego. I'm not a regular traveller to Thailand and may not be back for 12 months. I agree. I don't spend much time in Thailand, but I spend a lot of time in Indonesia. I find that the girls in Indonesia who list the max age for their guy at 30 or 35 who are Muslim will likely accept any age. However, the Christian girls (normally more educated than the Muslims and from more upper class families) are much more likely to tell me "you are older than my father! That's disgusting!

LOL. Yes! This might be a good time to mention I had seen her photos on ThaiCupid when her stated and accurate age was 19 (she turned 20 a couple of days before we met). She looked stunning. But because her desired age range for the man as stated on her thumbnail pic in the gallery topped out at almost 30 years younger than me I concluded it would be ridiculous for me to click Interested in her first and try to connect with her. I chose to "honor" her age requirement and not risk annoying her. If she had said 50 or higher I would have clicked Interested first. And her profile did not contain any real suggestions that she was looking for P4P customers.

On ThaiCupid we can see who merely viewed our profile so I have to assume she saw that I had viewed hers before she clicked Interested in me. Maybe that was what triggered her curiosity to click Interested in me first. Don't know if she would have done that if she had only seen my pic and profile in the gallery. Actually, she might never have seen my pic and profile at all if TC had been diligent about filtering out potential matches according to her stated age limits. Sometimes they are good about that, sometimes not.

Of course, on my end I say I am open to meet ladies 18-35.

Guys, never forget the element of "Face" in virtually everything these people do. It is entirely possible the only reason some of these girls don't post that they could indeed be up for a "date" with a much older man us because they don't want other people on the site reading that they are open to dating one. But if a much older man shows some interest in them privately, who knows?

There is no logic to it, but it the same as being married to a lady that gets older. I do have backup girls, to ensure to get a regular fuck. However if I should ever split from GF, I don't see a good reason to get another one. Easier to outsource the sex.

Does anyone know what is the VOA fee as of now? Up till now it was 1000 THB. Last year it was increased to 2000 but shortly it was again reduced to 1000. The Thai website had a circular saying that the reduction in fee was upto 31st. August 2017. Wonder if it is still 1000 or increased.
