I agree. I love my Visa runs. I get to fly to nearby mongering destinations like Phnom Penh, Jakarta, Angeles City, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Ho chi Minh, etc. if you fly AirAsia you can fly round trip to some of these destinations for 2000 baht.

Been trying to find a direct flight from BKK to Angeles City but they all seem to be at least 1 stop. Direct Flights from BKK to Manila are possible, but can't find direct to Angeles City. Anyone know of a direct to Angeles out of Bangkok?

Not sure about BKK, but Pattaya gogo bars open at midnight on nights like this.

Last night we were out on Soi 6 and the bars closed at 12. Earlier today I saw ice being delivered to the places on Walking Street so I think midnight it is.

All of my trips this year have been short, ust a few days each, and that may make a difference.

I think this is the key. What they don't want are people just repeatedly staying in Thailand on a free visa. Anyways, the 6 month multi entry tourist Visa is so cheap anyways. Better to just get one. It can be extended to 8 months really since you get a 60 day extension as long as you re-enter Thailand before your Visa expires.

I think flying out to Phnom Penh for one night plus, is a lot easier than travel to Penang by land.

I used to have 7 to 8 free entries to Thailand each year, but new rules (hard to find written down definitely) state I will get only two freebie entries (30 day Visa waiver) per year. I now have found it is easier to pay the money (approx. 8000 Baht I'm my home country) and get a 6 month multi entry Visa (still has a max of 60 days at a time. Normally enough for me).

The 2 free entries per year is not enforced, I've been 4 times already since March. On my last trip I was only there for 10 hours and the immigration officer asked where I was going. I just told him that I was heading into town to kill time. All of my trips this year have been short, ust a few days each, and that may make a difference.

I needed to get my visa extended. My gym offers help with this. I paid around 4000 thb for trip to penang malaysia. I paid 1500 thb to visa people and another 500 baht because I did not have a exit ticket out of thailand and they provided me one. It was a long trip to penang from thailand, around 12 hours. We had to stop at border on thai and on malaysia side.

The things I needed were, my passport, 2 passport photos, exit ticket out of thailand, copy of passport, some kind of exit thing that I think I got when I entered thailand, (had to buy for 200 baht), note from hotel saying I was staying there for 3 months, and I think that was it. When we got to penang, we went to the thai embassy, and did the paper work. I left my passport with them. The next day we were taken back there and given our passport back. We then left to come back home.

I exchanged 500 baht for ringgit at a currency exchange. Meals and hotel were provided by visa company.

It was a long trip in an uncomfortable van. Some really friendly nice people were also going there, and meeting them was nice.

All in all I got my visa extended by just doing what I was told by the visa guy and asking some of the people I was with questions.

I wanted to post this as I looked here for info and didn't find any, so thought I would add this. I realize it probably is t going to be a lot of help other then as encouragement that if one just follows the visa runner company guidelines one will get a visa.

Exchanged 100's at the D.A. T. Exchange booth on Soi 24 near BTS Phrom Phong. This is right across the street from the Addict massage alley. My exchange rate on 100 dollar bills was 33.2 which I thought was very good compared to what I have been seeing lately. Just a PSA. See photo. They open at 11:00am

Yes; the USD has moved a bit this week, from about the 33.00 range to about the 33.40 range. I normally check the XE.com website rate (currently 33.37) and subtract 1/10 baht to get the achievable exchange rate on the ground.

I am of Indian origin born and bred in North America. I dunno if anyone can share their experience in regards to thermae in this situation.

What are my chances of picking up a SYT? Should I just use Smooci or other escort services instead?

This is contrary to my experience. Barring a couple of of GoGo bars which could be termed racist, which should any way not be bothering, as there are plenty of them around the town, I have never experienced any dislike for Indians either from FL or in GoGo bars or other places. So, it does not matter whether you were born and bred in America. All that matters is money and you should keep going. I have no doubt you will be able to pick up any number of SYT, by being courteous and nice to girls.

I second the suggestion to not behave like a stereotypical Indian and spread the cash around and be generous. Money talks.
