for all those, not so experienced with Thai(?) affairs, can you please elaborate on what you mean by:
"Given what we read in the news reports from the hospital, and the rumors which fly, just how long do you think the entertainment venues will have to close when that dreaded day comes?"
I am planning to be in Thailand in 3 months and finding all the entertainment venues all closed would spoil the fun.

Posts: 1641I have a question for all experienced punters: Given what we read in the news reports from the hospital, and the rumors which fly, just how long do you think the entertainment venues will have to close when that dreaded day comes?
I hazarded the guess of three months in a rl conversation recently, with the observation that it might be long enough to kill them (not many bars and nightspots can survive three months revenue free). Of course on the other hand there might be a civil war so mere closure might not really be the worst of it.

Posts: 163Is there a pedestrian flyover from the northeast side of Lumpini Park to somewhere around the Tobacco Monopoly at the end of Suk. Soi 2?
What's the deal with this area? I read once it was being developed into a park, but I can't really find much about it.

The forum on Thai women has moved so am posting this here.
A few months back, I invited a Thai lady (shes 25, has kid and a husband who doesn't live in Thailand) to come stay with me for a weekend. I was happy to pay for her ticket from her town to BKK then to my city, but she insisted to go half. I didn't argue. We had a fun weekend but she was too slim (model slim and 5ft 6 tall, ) for my tastes, and was a bit clingy.
Anyways weve chatted since then and shees asked if she could come back to my city again. Shes stated she would pay hotel and airfare, she just wants to see me. Well I've been travelling so haven't been able to do it.
Today I get email saying she would love to see me, but she knows I'm busy. So she would pay my airfare if I would go to Phuket on a one day round trip to see her. Wow. Here I am, a mid 50's guy getting such an invite. Money isn't an issue for me, but nice to be treated as such. Sweet girl!

Might be wrong but isn't this place near Sukhothai, and isn't there a landing strip there?

Look for a car that use gaz and not only gazoline, they need to feel theier car for about 800 return to kamphaeng phet. So they have a good profit even by 2500 baht. Go early morning 5am so taxi can come back same day. No traffic.

For the past month Goverment Bank (Pink Machines) have been reconfiguring their computers and ATM, to make the charge official 150 Baht for Foreign ATM cards. This last month you put in your Foreign ATM card and after a few seconds especially after you push " English " seconds later the response is that there is a problem. I went to over 6 ATM's throughout Pattaya and they came up with all the same response. Now as stated they are all working if you agree on the 150 baht.
The only Bank now that I know is AEON, that isn't charging is the Japanese owned. And most have been removed or not working throughout Pattaya except the main branch in Lotus, North Pattaya!
Now one has to consider this when they use the ATM'S, is along with the 150 Baht charge is what is the rate they are giving you. Here is what I found!
Using this general example in USD currency! Lets say the official rate is 33.50 Today!
Bank of Bangkok: ATM rate given is 32.45
Siam Commericail: ATM rate given is 32.42
Bank of Ayuthya: ATM rate given is 32.33
Govenment Bank: ATM rate given is 33.35
I have found although all the above banks are charging now the 150 Baht the Government Bank is giving the best rate!
Took out money from AEON two weeks ago at Lotus, no charge! The day exchange rate was something like 33.65, and they gave me 33.42!
Some are reporting that some of the above might not be charging ( Except AEON ) but that depends on where the card comes from.....
Good luck, LBM

GSM 1800 is probably the most common frequency in Thailand (at least 3 carriers), but GSM 900 and GSM 1900 are available too (at least 1 carrier each).
