While the posts in ISG are very useful, I could use local tour guides who are familiar with the best places for girls, food, entertainment, sight seeing etc...

It's a bit of a hit-and-miss, but in BKK, some of the P4P girls make excellent guides. In fact, I've found some that are better transalots/fixers than the assistants available through local temp service agencies or the business centers of the major hotels. Problem is finding the right girl. It can be an arduous job in itself, but the interview process is kind of fun. If you find the right girl as your guide, she'll take a lot of pride in the assignment and make impeccable arrangements for you. P4P girks are almost always aware of the best restaurants, know the more cultural sights thoroughly and tend to get you the best prices, at least better than you could get on your own without knowing Thai. And "variation" is no problem. You want six girls, all at once or on different nights, she can arrange it.
This suggestion won't work every time and YMMV, but it's definitely worthwhile to consider a TG as your guide outside and inside the pink zone in BKK.

I am going on a tour of SE Asia in about a month. I will spend 10 days in various spots in Thailand, the rest in SGP and Bali.

While the posts in ISG are very useful, I could use local tour guides who are familiar with the best places for girls, food, entertainment, sight seeing etc...
I prefer someone with culture rather than the low-brow tuktuk and taxi drivers.

Also, any comprehensive guide books for major SE Asia cities, including info for local sex scene, would be very useful.

Lonely Planets and Moon Publications are two very comprehensive and heavy guidebooks for sight-seeing, restaurants, culture, etc. If you have specific question re non-monger activities, go to flyertalk.com and post your questions. Keep in mind this sight is for general audience and don't ask any monger questions here!

For the good stuff, RTFF each specific thread, for instance, the Indonesia>Bali forum has lots of good information. Also the Reports of Distinction. As you read through the forums, you'll get an idea who the 'specialists' are for that specific location and you can PM them directly.

For instance, JAD is an expert on Indonesia....never met him but read many of his posts. You might want to consult with him or even retain his services (he is available for a fee).

Last, a couple of days before you actually visit a location, put up a post to see if any fellow senior brothers around....if they're in town, I'm sure they'd be happy to join you for a drink, etc.

Better look under Other Areas, there is some older, but probably still valid, info there.

Buses to Krabi leave from the Talaat busterminal in Surat Thani and also from Surat Thani (Phumphin) railwaystation.
Talaat Khao busterminal in Krabi is way outside the city, leave Surat before noon to arrive in time to catch a bus to Krabi town.

Any advice on the scene in those areas to help me decide which way to go.

Immeadiately my thoughts came across an old friend of mine. A Swiss guy whom I know from Hong Kong about 10 years ago, who lives in Bangkok now and manufactures teddies.

So far so good. On December 30 I wanted to book a hotel in Bangkok for new year's eve, and my regular hotel was fully booked, so I thought to give town lodge a try, and luckily they still had exactly one room left

Arriving on 31st at 9 pm I wanted to check in, and what a surprise, it was the teddy guy who owns a share in the hotel and runs the bar. He already knew that I was coming from my name on the reservation list.

This place is really good value for money. 1200 for a nice room. Also the "Toxic Club" will be going to be something special. When I came in, the first eyes that smiled at me made me immediately believe that It would be a complete waste of time to search for something better. The barfine is 600 and the girls will ask 1500 st or 2500 lt, my friend told me. I found 2500 a bit steep, but didn't want to dicuss money with the girl upfront. I showed my interest in her slowly and built up some relation before paying the barfine. And she turned out to keep even more that she looked promising. Very beautiful, 20 years old, good english and genuine fun. Exactly how I like it.

Unluckily she needed to go to see her family the next day, but would be back in a few days. She asked me if I wanted to come with her, but I told her I don't consider this as avery good idea for her.
When I asked her in the morning how much she expects, she wouldn't answer. So I gave her 2000 and in good thai manners she put it away with a smile and thank you without counting it.

The bar was not busy, since they don't have many girls yet. (They are looking for classy and beautiful girls with good english skills, which is not so easy, especially in a time when all the sponsors are in town).

Another advantage of the Toxic bar is that they are open all night. But that has its price. Beer is 120, (2for1 from 4pm to 9pm) and 170 after 2 am.

I will be back there by the day she returnes. I Escaped the smog to Pattaya for the meantime.

I had a guy attempt to suscribe my services to seek out his girl from Soi 33.
I was in Argentina at that moment so it was geographically impossible.
I thought he was in love.
Later I returned to Bangkok ask inquired if he still needed my help.
He PM'd me that he used an alternate means to contact her and that the reason for his action was that she gave him herpes.
All in all I am glad I didnt do that task and replied that he could of
simply posted his report and avoided the investigative proceedure.

I got the "Comprehensive" health check at the above listed hospital last week. It included almost every conceivable test a middle aged man would want to take, including a full battery of blood tests. Overall the service for about 13,000 BHT was well worth the price, time and effort, and is, according to previous reports on this board, a fraction of the price you would pay in an advanced country. I was very satisfied with the experience and would repeat it.

My only disappointment was with the attending physician who seemed non-caring and trying to withold information, while subtley steering me to specialists. I will be able to find out much information about my test results from the Internet than what he provided in the follow-up consultation. However, in medical care these days, the "gatekeeper" function this young, inexperienced doctor provided is often the norm.
