I'm going to be in Bangkok for four days and then heading to Hua Hin and staying at the Hyatt. Given the limited P4P in Hua Hin, I'm thinking of bringing a girl with me.

Any tips and advice from those of you who have done this on how to select a compatible companion for one of these trips? Any questions I can ask the girl that would help predict whether she would be a good one to take with me? I will at least go LT with the girl before considering asking her to go with me, but with only four days before I leave, I probably need to get started looking as soon as I get there.

The Pent is on Wireless road, Hollywood on Rachada soi 11.

When I went to the Pent roughly a year ago, the deal was either buy a bottle ( Baht 3500 + mixers) or buy a membership ( 20,000 Baht for which you get 10 bottles and free mixers). Mamasan will approach you and introduce 4-6 girls, should you not like any of them she will bring some more until you find what you are looking for.

Quality of the girls is very good, but expect to pay a high price. I paid 4000 Baht LT, opening bid from the girl was 8000.

Hollywood is an entirely different setup, more like a regular club and has been around for at least 10 years (maybe more). Loads of girls, but not all professionals although the majority are. Went there 3 times and scored 1x for free, 1x 2500 LT (turned out to be a Massage Parlour girl) and 1x no luck.

Both places are worth a visit.

I have biz visit once a while to BKK and am looking around for a suitable karaoke place. Please don't flame me for not RTFF but I'm looking for a reasonable priced karaoke lounge ( more english based ) in BKK where the standard activities are available , with ladies for take out. Can't afford those fancy karaokes where the Japs usually hang out so , can the local expats here help out !

If you prefer to shop at Walmart where the choices are endless and the pricing is great go to Pattaya. Do not get me wrong. The Nana area has its good points. There is nothing like a visit to Annie's, Eden Club or Lolitta's for their unique specials. But what do you do the rest of the time?

I have never lacked for things to do in BKK. Sorry, but I must disagree. Besides, BKK is more than just the Nana area. I also find that there are far more options, variety, etc. in BKK for both the woman and the eats.

They can have fake ID's made on Kao San Road. The way they walk and their lack of modesty are dead give aways. LBz are flashy with their privates and when heading up the skytrain stairs they cannot fake the walk as women have different pelvises for having children. Asian girls generally have modesty hard coded into they haidz, while the LB'z are proud of their recent surgically acquired devices and will flash you. You will find that many expats stay in Thailand for the LBz. Dudes get work papers and get jobs over there just to frolic with the catooees. You can see big, bad ass ex military, musclemen wimpering as their cattoee scolds them. A Thai private eye told me of an American that has farhang bicycle "tours" with ladyboys in tow and they even ran ads in a newspaper up here in NYC. Often the catooee mongers will slander other mongers to create a smoke screen. It is sad how the extremely poor people in S.America and Asia will feed birth control pills to their wee lads that are born with pretty faces to help them develop feminine characteristics so they can sell their bodies to support their families. In India there is a whole caste born like that. Hijras (aka Hijaras) have no choice and used to be castrated but now are forced to be gender bent into LBz.

How to spot a katoey: Avoid any of the following:

1) Adams Apple, but nowadays, there is surgery to shave this down, so it's absence is not a sure thing

2) Be wary of voices that sound unusually raspy/breathy

3) Beware of large hands

4) Be especially wary of any "lady" over 5'2" tall, although this is of course not a sure thing - Especially if the tall one has fake boobies.

5) I find that the MOST reliable indicator is the musculature of the upper thighs - it's simply different in women and men. Ladies tend to have at least a slight bit of cellulite - men don't. Katoeys don't - their upper thighs look like male upper thighs, except shaved.

With the new airport you are only about 2 1/2 hours away from Pattaya. Cost about 1200B-1600B taxicab ride away. The Nana area takes 45 minutes and costs 250B. Once you arrive you basically have the hordes of women around the Nana area all screaming to catch your attention or you can hassle with the taxicab drivers and go to Soi Cowboy. That is basically your 2 choices. Now if you are short on time Bangkok is not bad. If you have 3 or more days why not go for the full package. In Bangkok the hotel rooms will cost you more, the bar fines are higher, the girls will ask for more, the service at hotels is lousy, the food choices poor, there are hordes of people, etc. You are basically captive in a very confined area. When it comes to Bangkok versus Pattaya, we all have a preference.

I had my first trip to LOS in 1994, I'm now a veteran of 20+ trips, most trips are for around 3 weeks, I visited Pattaya in 1994 and out of the next 20 or so trips to LOS I've only been back to Pattaya on 3 occasions, I just hate the place, yet I've heard numerous others rave about it.

What is it I dislike so much about Pattaya? I think the overall standard of girls is lower in Pattaya, also on the few occasions I've been there I've thought that the standard of the average punter left a lot to be desired, don't get me wrong, I've seen the loud/overweight/over 40//balding yobos in Bangkok as well, just don't seem as prevelant in Bangkok.

The other thing is on my first 5 or 6 trips to Bkok I was very fortunate to be shown around by a friend of mine that was domiciled in Bkok, he was a private investigator, and new the city like the back of his hand.

In your post you mentioned nana and cowboy as basically your 2 choices, hell on most trips to bkok I stay in either suk 11 or 19 and I don't even venture into nana, I may poke my nose into cowboy once or twice during a 3 week stay, there are so many other places in bkok that leave nana and cowboy for dead.

I guess I'll always be a fan of bkok.

Yes, katoys are somewhat quite integrated in Thai society. I would not mind hiring, after all what counts are results. I found that Gays and Katois are very competitive and get the job done (work related I mean:-).

Point is that some of them are just close to 100% perfect in looks. At times I could not see (or hear) the difference.

Only thing which gave it away was the ID card. Seems though that the Thai staff spots them a mile away.

Had a friend almost do the same thing, I even had one try to snug up on me. LOL HOWEVER I happen to see the adams apple, and then asked "you katoy?" It's reply "yes but I nit-noy". If it has Fake-Ns think twice, If its taller then 5' and has Fake-Ns, think twice and ask. If you keep finding that you have to ask, you may need to re-Eval your idea of what a asian women should look like.

I have good experience in Bangkok area Soi Nana, almost always nice women and good prices too. But in this last trip I found a nice female (at least I thought this!!!) and was a Katoy !!!!

I really don’t know how this can happen with my experience and the previous chat with him!!! Only in the room I saw the bad surprise.

Therefore my request or advice to the experts here how can I recognize this? All the signals were from a cute woman and I wonder if with the ID can I realize this in advance and avoid this situation in the future. How is recorded in the IDs? Maybe in Thai language could help us
