Passport needed to exchange money as well

Also be aware that you will need to present your passport, or a copy thereof, in order to exchange money. I simply carried around a photocopy of mine in my pants, with my original locked up in the safe. I did find one place that did not ask for it, but most required it.

    Advice wanted for Insomnia

I will be back in Pattaya in 4 weeks and am beginning to think about what I might try to do on this, my second trip.

First time, I got to know Soi 6 and WS pretty well, and even picked up a daytime FL or BR. But my experience with a MP was limited (a rub and tug in one place with no desire for more there), and my experience with discos was a brief stay at Insomnia (upstairs) which went bad, bringing back memories of my youth when I was a complete failure with discos.

But this time I would like to try Insomnia again (for the FLs), and also go to a better MP known for reasonably pretty girls, specifically a body slide.

As for discos, last time I was at Insomnia I failed to realize that the bar goes all the way back. I had simply parked my butt at the front where the host first seated me, near the speakers that could cause ears to bleed from the intensity. I supposed I should have gone to the back. Note that I am circa 60 why / o. I am still in good shape with most of my hair, though it is graying, but I don't know if my age might be significant factor against me from scoring there. It did not seem to be a deterrent with the girls on my first trip, but with Insomnia's FL, where I will be surrounded with the younger guys who will be there, should I even bother to go in? I am a nice guy, but I really don't like to drink alcohol, and while I will buy girls drinks and be generous, I won't imbibe beyond one or two drinks for myself.

And how late do I need to be there to maximize my chances? I understand that some of the girls who go there are office girls looking to make a little extra money, and I presume they would be there earlier but that they might be less inclined to go off with an older dude. And I understand that many of the girls there are bar girls who got off work, who show up after 2 am or so. So might I first go there around 10 PM, then if nothing go back after 2 am?

It does seem that the MO for Insomnia is to go to the back and look for potentially available girls and go to her. If she is not appalled by me, to then buy her a drink or two then inquire as to take out? Alternately, I can try to find a place to sit and make eye contact with appealing girls who happen to walk by, hoping they will stop to chat. Reasonable?

You guys know I write detailed reports, and scoring in a disco would erase years of trauma from my inability to score there from my youth. Well, ok, I did lose my virginity to a girl I went home with from a disco, but we knew each other and she basically went after me and took me to her place. Anyway, any helpful hints?

One more questions while I am at it. Last year there was really cute girl at one club I really liked and was considering BFing, but the club suddenly closed and everyone was kicked out. A short while later, the girl I was lusting after came out with some of the other girls. I was thinking of going to ask if she wanted to do something with me, but she kept talking and I was tired and gave up. Is is not uncool to approach these girls who just got off work? Might they already be planning to go to a disco and look for FL work?

    Passport at hotels.

As far as I am aware the hotel is required by Thai law to take a photocopy of your passport, as all foreigners are required to have their details passed onto the local police within 24 hours of your checking in.

Even when I am travelling in Thailand I keep a photocopy of my passport in the car and if requested produce this at police / army checkpoints and it is readily accepted.

I hate to surrender my passport, but never had a choice, not even in my hotel.

They sealed it in an envelope and put it in a safe, but they still were in possession of my passport.
A hotel would never keep your passport, you are actually required to carry it with you and show it if stopped by police but usually just a photo copy will suffice.

Numerous people have said they only need a copy of your passport. I have rented bikes many times and only used a copy of my passport. Same for hotel rooms. If you insist on doing things your way and giving total strangers the most important thing you have while overseas, then continue. Hope you never need it in a hurry.

My motto is money, credit cards and passport. Everything else is expendable.

It is not about identity theft. The hotels have to copy your passport and visa information and record it. It is a law. But they don't keep the physical passport.

What kind of places are you guys staying in and renting bikes? Everywhere I have ever been they only wanted to copy the passport. NEVER let anyone keep your passport. Why not just give them your wallet to keep as well.

I've started to look at other options, namely 30+ days in Colombia on the one hand, or 30+ days in Africa (most likely split between Tanzania and Kenya) on the other. That said, on your advice, I'll take look at Sao Paulo. I speak English and French, and have been working hard to build up my rudimentary Spanish, but I have no Portuguese. Could I have you opinion as to how much of a problem it will if I lack any command of Portuguese?
Hit the Sao Paulo board. Do the normal research.

No Porto. Its not impossible, about. ID say. 1 in 5 girls in the clinics speak English, and they're usually very nice girls too.

I mean. Renting a huge fuck condo with huge heated pool, jacuzzis, and a nice bed, shower, TV. That you could stay in for a full day and schedule in the lineup of FLs is fun too.

ABG in Sao Paulo forum is the spirit guide of fucking in SP, he's there to make it work for you. .

The $ is _so_ depressed there, and the clinics are so much fun.

Good short time Brazilian pussy is $35-55 US depending on the house, or the special.

That did not come across right.

I don't intend to throw $ at the problem. Just use it wisely, the right way as I've been reading, and see what comes of it.
