i was told by a long term professional pimp, who made a living out of catering for japanese, that in public they are sweet, in private room sadistic, and they paid more than others so they could get away with their sadism. when in position of power they are not nice at all. example of that is the war, where they went out of their way to be as nasty as all hell. ask the chinese, filipinos and any other unfortunates who were occupied by the japanese. they sure do impress in public, smiley, generous. whilst kept in line they are sweet, but when they get the opportunity, nasty. that is my understanding of them.

They get the girls they find attractive at the times they consider convenient. From the Japanese perspective, it's the Western punters who spend big money out of their pockets on air fare to Thailand, then want to nickel-and-dime the girls, that are the fools."

One of the guys I work with is over there now, and he was bitching about a girl that he wanted to take out wanting 3000 bht and not 2500 bht for LT, saying there is no reason he should pay high season prices in low season. I tried to explain to him that he just flew 25 hours to get to Thailand and he is arguing with a girl over $16 WTF?

I read approx 20% of the postings in each thread I am interested in. I didn`t have time but I made time as mongering is important to me and have my full attention. Everything is cheap in Thailand so don't worry about prices. But take taxi between Pattis and Bangkok only 1500BHT one way (max).

There are hotels located in both Bangkok and Pattaya in every price range from low to high to outrageously expensive; some are nice; some not so nice; some are dumps. Maybe if you read the forum you might find exactly what you are looking for. Maybe not; it's an awful lot to read if you aren't motivated.

Oh yeah, and there are busses running daily to and from both locations.

I am headed back to Pattaya soon and since it's been a few years I wanted to know if some of my fellow punters would update me on of few things?

First, though I always sample plenty of the local fair, I wonder if someone could tell me where the Eastern Bloc girls hang out?

Agree with that. Evil's posting should be mandatory reading for anyone who complains about "stupid Japanese overpaying".
