Sounds to me more that you're struggling with your own puritanical guilt, and projecting onto others the misgivings you yourself seem to feel about engaging in pay-for-play activities.

Back in 1997, the first time I came in Thailand, we could see old white dudes (older than 70) walking hand in hand with young Thai teenagers (Thai boys) in the malls like Royal Garden. You think Thai nationals didn't know what was going on then? You would have a heart attack if you saw them.

Pattaya is not for you, why would you want to go there and change it the way you would like it to be?

There are plenty of other places you could go in Thailand and feel like you're not disrespecting the locals. For example: Phuket City is a nice place with few tourists and little prostitution. You could respect the locals as much as you want and then visit the whole island without seeing "disrespectful" foreigners.

And just to let you know, Pattaya is really full of trash Thai nationals too, not just foreigners.

Hey Pattaya is still a great destination however it has nothing to do with a "syndrome" to see the city is changing over time. If its better or worse well that depends per person and their ability to adopt to these changes?

Fact: since covid there is a major shift in demographics of the tourist in Thailand that have a HUGE impact on the city.

* Less Westerns and more couples / families of western countries.

* The rise of Asian tourist (arab / indian).

* More koreans who go there for a long weekend (just a few hour flight) who just have a different spend behaviour than most westerns.

* Increase in salaries after covid (due to lack of girls in 2022 - higher salaries - higher barfines - higher prices for LD).

* We now even see an increase in kickback for drinks (from 50 THB precovid to 100 THB now in Pinup as an example).

The effect on someones holiday is of course depending on what he does?

If you are into freelancers / Thaifriendly / beachroad or whatever you won't find a big impact. You can still find enough girls for the precovid prices and there are plenty of girls.

If you are into agogos the impact is probably the biggest because of the increase in barfines and prices for ladydrinks.

And yeah with the increase in salaries and all. Some girls don't go ST / LT that easy as before.

So did Pattaya change? Hell yeah!

Trust me, if you spent 6 months straight in Thailand, you will not go out everyday. There is no need to. If you are well known and good rep, you will have a black book as long as 1-200 girls. To be honest I think people keep saying this for a reason and it's true. There is a steady increase in stigma here (similar to the west) and less are willing to do so. I'd last been in Thailand in 2018. Was there in 2017 and 2016 as well. But this time around the scene appears to have completely died. I spent 4 days in Pattaya walking up and down looking for a girl in bars, gogo clubs, freelancers, etc. It appears that the quality of the options available has seriously degraded. And I mean in terms of appearance. This was always somewhat of a struggle in 2016-2018 as most girls aren't worth it but you would find one, didn't take too long either. Now it appears they are completely unavailable. Not just Pattaya, I was in ko samui and chiang mai but I can't seem to find any girls I'm attracted to. I did see a few in chiang mai but they were already had some 50+ creeper (sorry guys, I'm 38) all over them.

Does anyone have any insight to what happened? The scene is alive but why are attractive girls no longer doing this? Are there new stigmas here or are people just going to tell me its onlyfans again? My entire life I've been an avid girl watcher. Girls in the States in the 60's, 70's and 80's were amazing. To those who say they are no different today I retort that I did photography in the 80's and 90's and have numerous photos to prove my point.
