I have stayed at the Wave Hotel several times with the last time in March 2020 right before COVID shut everything down. Never had any issues taking someone back and in fact once I had two. They did ask for ID and think they called to check after the girl (s) left.

It is a great hotel, albeit pricey, with a nice pool, cool lobby, and good restaurant. Classy place all the way around. All rooms face the sea too and Beach Road with a small balcony.

Supposedly they are getting rid of the pre-flight 72 hour PCR-RT test requirement on April 1st. However there's still two coronavirus tests required on day 1 and 5. They are also looking to get rid of the test and go program altogether by June 1st, yet they are also thinking of continuing to have arrivals get tested upon arrival although it may be the faster antigen style test.

I like many people cannot afford to risk testing positive in Thailand since we typically get around two weeks for annual leave / vacation from our jobs. Testing positive on day 1 or day 5 would be an absolute disaster due to the mandatory quarantine; your holiday is effectively ruined. And since I am from America I am required to take a PCR-RT test no more than one day before boarding the return flight.

If I didn't have to worry about a job and could afford to spend a few months or longer in Thailand sure the risk is worth it. But as it stands now, absolutely not.

I understand the risk of testing positive is very small, something like less than 1%, but nevertheless the risk is still there. Not to mention that you can test positive yet still have to quarantine because someone in close proximity to you tested positive.
