sure you can get those types of street hookers all over pattaya any time you like day or night for 500 baht st or even less, but if you want anything approaching quality in the looks department, i. e. a really pretty girl, you just might have to pay a lot more than 500 and perhaps a bar fine from time to time, at least once to get to know the girl and get her phone number for future dates sans bar fine. or you might find a really pretty girl on the street to play your game with, (i think your little game is a good idea, btw) but believe me, she's going to want more than 500-800 baht.

am reluctant to use term 'street hookers' to describe many of these gals. many of them head to pattaya from all over thailand just to experience a good time with a farang. i've had gals who spend few days in pattaya, from bkk, chang mai, change rai, or wherever, and they just want some fun cause they're managed to get away from home and just horny. i've had gals who work ft at mcdonald's, banks, work front desk at hotels, sell condos, clothes, airline tickets, whatever, and they too just want some extra cash, and perhaps some fun. also found gals living in pattaya taking a day off from their go-go, bar-beer, in between jobs, whatever. it's a wide spectrum, which personally i like.

highly doubtful they're from br. each day i'd walked up and down br and not once found a gal who i had. not that there is anything wrong with br, but my methodology pretty much filters them out. this since i only grab 'moving busses' and avoid 'standing busses' (anyone who doesn't understand those terms, i defined them previously so rtff). also none of my gals go for 500 baht, unlike only a few years ago. if a gal looks desperate or approaches me, the answer is an absolute no. those type girls can be real trouble.

here you have erred. as stated clearly, have not paid a bar fine to any go-go or bar beer this two month trip. have not paid a pattaya bar fine since figure 2004 or 2005. three times paid the gal 1000 baht, once 900 baht. outside of those, no more than 800 be when using my method. if i allowed them to stay all night, gave them 400 to 500 baht more. figuring over 60 percent of gals gave me their cell number after the deed, but i usually tossed it. guessing a dozen on my cell, including those three 3-holers who are now in my permanent rotation.

this trip estimate that i had about 85 to 95 times with gals. about once a week went to [CodeWord900], golden girls, bliss, etc. bit less than that did a soi 6. more than a few massages too. the rest i found on my own, and not once used a bar beers or go-gos for gals, but found more than a few of my gals in 7/11s, baht busses, the chicken stands, and just around town.

overall, it was not a bad two month break.

I'm no expert by any means, but the phone might not have the band compatibility? I took a phone I got here in Thailand, Samsung Galaxy why, I have T-mobile pay as you go in the USA and when I was home recently I stuck my T-mobile sim into the Samsung and had no problem calling back to Thailand.

Its been a few years, but I used an unlocked T-mobile phone (an old Windows Mobile smartphone) my first trip to Thailand with no problems, then on 2nd trip used an HTC Touch Diamond smartphone that I bought in Australia. I continued to use that Aussie HTC on T-mobile when I returned to the US, too. What smartphone is yours, LuvPuss? Maybe its something about that model? I have an HTC HD2 (bought in NZ) that I hope to use next month.

I can confirm the 7-11 at BKK sells SIMS and at better prices than that large booth with the 3 main cell vendors at arrrivals. The 7-11 is a level or two below the main arrivals floor. I also use 1-2-call. I'm hoping to bring an unlocked Galaxy S4 with me next fall. When I insert the Thai SIM will I need to change phone settings to get the internet. This will be my first smartphone in Thailand.

Thanks to all who responded to my questions on getting a sim card in Pattaya.

Its been 4 years since I last visited Pattaya, but looking forward to being there in early May.

I am arriving about 830pm at BKK airport (if on time) with no checked bags and I plan to take the 389 Airport-Pattaya bus.

I see it goes to North Pattaya bus station at that hour and likely arrives around midnight.

Anyone have experience with this bus and station that late?

Is it safe and are tuktuks available to get to Walking St, Soi BJ area?

(I realize its walking only on Walking St at that hour.)
