Well, as long as I'm on a roll, I will add a general note about those occasional sweeps of street girls by the cops. LOL.

My previous post about this that you quoted from was regarding P4 P girls working in bars. I think that would also apply to escort agencies, massage shops, soapies, so-called Happy Ending shops and the like. It seems that is why Smooci is trying put a distance between itself and escort agencies of late.

And I should also stipulate that This Is Thailand, I could have it wrong on some meaningful detail or the law has been changed as of last month or some edict has been issued that supercedes traditional penal code and enforcement procedures. My notes are based on what I have read in the Thai Penal Code on the issue and the way it has virtually always turned out in terms of arrests and charges regarding "prostitution crimes" here.

So, about those occasions where the cops round up dozens of street girls in a single night in a surprise sweep on, say, Beach Road in Pattaya or Soi 4 or Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok. Don't the cops say they did it to "Crack down on prostitution" or some such thing and doesn't the media report it as such too?

Yes. Because they are being lazy and / or intentionally imprecise about it.

What they are really arresting the girls for is being prostitutes who are creating a public nuisance of their line of work..

See, the illegal part is the italicized part of that statement. It is not illegal to be a prostitute in Thailand. But it is illegal to create a public nuisance about it.

Of course, all it takes for street girls to become a public nuisance is for a nearby hotel, restaurant, residence or I suppose competing bar to lodge a complaint that it is getting so crowded with hookers out there their business' patrons feel intimidated or literally must run the gauntlet of hookers just to reach the entrance to their business.

Or the girls are getting so loud and vocal that the wives and girlfriends of male tourists are annoyed by all this shouting about "boom boom" and "blowjobs".

Anyone remember when the BJ Bars off Soi 8 in Bangkok had to close because the girls sitting outside had gotten too vocal with passersby about what was on offer inside? Then when they were allowed to reopen their style changed from shouting, waving and flagging over potential customers to whispering, "psst. Come inside. Blowjob. " For a while anyway. I think most Bangkok BJ Bar girls sitting outside their bar are still fairly low key and subdued about how they tout their offering compared to the way it was before some of those shops got busted and closed down a long while. And that was pre Covid.

They had been creating a public nuisance out of their business model and got busted for it.

Yes, sometimes those sweeps are also about suspected visa violations or age-related issues, same as some of the raids in the bars, massage shops, etc.

But, again, the busts are not exactly of legal age and properly visa'd girls and their customers for the exchange of money for sex. They are for something else only tangentially related to it.

Have a short window (3-4 days) for a solo mongering trip. I have done BKK several times, was looking at Pattaya but wanted to see how a couple of points compare.

Obviously I'm talking about barfine with taking the girl out of the bar for a big part or the day or the whole day or night, not the ST session upstairs.

I know the price of barfines in Nightwish, a tier price consisting in 2 K (from Monday to Thursday) and 2,5 K from Friday to Sunday (both of these are prices before 10 pm).

From 10 pm it drops to 1250 bahts or 1500 bahts depending on the day.

From midnight it drops to 800 or 1 K depending on the day.

Take in consideration that some bars close at midnight, some others at 1 am and some others at 2 am so the hours might differ depending on the closing time of the said bar.

These quotes were comfirmed by girls that I know well in Playpen, Utopia or 3 Angels near 2nd road.

You find these prices different to WS? Last trip in May I was in Iron and asked for barfine for ST past midnight, it was 1250 to the bar plus 2 K for the girl (I didn't pull the trigger).

Price for the girl is the most astonishing to me, I've heard 4 K in 3 Angels, 4 K in Poison (not even a good looking girl, BTW barfine is 2 K there and she asked 2 K for ST upstairs), 5 K from one of my repeat girl from this trip near Beach road side (she is not a bullshit girl so I believe her, and she told me she's been barfined a few times already).

When the girl told me 5 K + 2 K I asked her "and guys are paying these prices? She said of course, and looked at me like saying "you think I'm not worth it or what?

On WS the bigger GoGo the going rate for models is 2-2. 5 K Barfine + 7 K for LT. People are absolutely paying these prices, me included. If that's the price of getting what I want then that's the price. I am not going to bother hunting for value when I am on vacation. It's over $300 for an hour with an average provider where I live.

BTW, just a general note to all, offering and paying money for sex to anyone under the age of 18 is illegal in Thailand. However, sex for love, sport or mere curiosity with someone (with their free consent) over the age of 15 is legal in Thailand. But not if the deal is for money, unless they are over age 18.

The issue regarding barfines would be it is legal for the bar to charge a fee to take a girl out of the bar during her regular work hours.

However, it is illegal for the mamasan, bar management or bar owners to profit in any way from the exchange of money for sex with the girl. That exchange is legal in Thailand only between the girl and her customer. It is illegal for anyone else, a third party, pimp, mamasan, agency, parent, boyfriend, whoever, to profit from the exchange.

So that is where the mamasan and the bar are taking a risk in demanding ALL of the money for the girl to have sex with a customer be paid to them upfront in the bar rather than just the barfine.

Aside from the demand probably having something to do with the mamasan wanting to rake off her 500 - 1000 baht commission right now before the girl disappears into the night perhaps never to return again, it strongly suggests the bar has a financial stake in their girls having sex for money, which would be illegal for the bar, not for the girl or the customer.

When cops raid the bars or agencies, they don't arrest the customers or the girls for "prostitution crimes. " For them, they really haven't committed a "prostitution crime" regarding the simple exchange of money for sex unless there is a criminal co-factor regarding age or coercion. They arrest the mamasans or bar owners for suspicion of them profiting from the exchange, which is a "prostitution crime. ".

Very seldom do I make social media contact with beer bar girls, agogo girls, or freelancers. Normally they are easily found at their post the next day and they are long gone before I make my next trip. There are so many choices throughout Thailand that I don't often miss a repeat with any one particular girl.

Now for ST I've rejected a lot of girls who are trying to start their pricing at 1500 and are not considering anything lower than that, if I feel like the girl is worth it I'll pay it but these girls were not worth it in my mind (either in looks or attitude, or I could feel the session would not be great upstairs). Other girls can easily ask for 2 K, these are the ones that take you for a sucker or girls that are eighteen year old.

Now both of you (or others on the ground), do your own researches, ask these girls price of BF plus what she expects to get for a night out (even if you're not intending to BF them), come back and report here and we'll see if what I've been quoted is different to what you're hearing, and in which bar precisely.

Last thing is that a lot of girls are getting barfined in the soi, which means a lot of guys are really paying these prices. We just don't realise it on this board because discussions are always polluted by cheap charlies boasting about their 1000 bahts TF trophies like they found a real gem in a sea full of shit, but a lot of guys are spending big bucks in the soi and girls and bar owners are catching up with that reality.

I personnaly don't think the trend will stop anytime soon, given the number of young K-dudes or Chinese dudes roaming the soi every day.

I understand it's a chess game between customers, girls and bar owners, but I personnaly think these two categories of customers are a big part in this up-pricing trend.

Just have a look at how many of these girls are completely uninterrested to anything that doesn't look like a guy from one of these two categories, it's not a personnal preference from the girl, it's just that these guys are the easiest targets these days.
