Took a taxi with a crazy driver who made it in an hour! 1000 bhat.
Checked out the Flipper Hotel but found it dumpy for 1200 so checked out the Pattaya Queen around the corner and got a great romm, very large quiet air con for 800, I thnk it is normally double that.
Yes curfew is in effect but there were a few ladies around and at least near the hotel the beer bars were empty mostly with a few ladies in the shadows.
Some places had the shutters half open and a few cusomers inside. Went to one and had a couple of drinks with a very pretty spinner, a 9 in my books who spode perfect English. Took her out for 1500 overnight and 300 BF.
She was very sexy and really aimed to please but I didn't feel the connection. Two very difficult pops, one at night and then the morning breakfast.
I'm not sure if the Thai lady thing is going to work for me, I love the Latina passion, the Thais seem kind of hollow in comparison.
I'm going to get outa dodge as soon as I can- head to Kho Samui or maybe Sihanoukville in the opposite direction.

This curfew thing might not be so bad after all. Bring an Isaan honey back to your room by 8 pm for ST then... "sorry tirak, you can't go out until sunrise".
Thanks Thaksin!

Posts: 1778Went to the airport today and am back in Hong Kong. The bus ride was no problem at all (The bus from Jomtien, took 90 minutes). Just called a friend in Pattaya and heard that the curfew stared at 9pm again.

Soi 6 is packed with punters. Business as usual down here.

Posts: 1493 more nights of curfew
Latest reports indicate that the curfew will remain in place in Pattaya for another three nights. Thats Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
The logic of enforcing a nightly curfew is sound: restrict assembly and prevent the unrest from spreading. So while its a bore, I'm all in favour.
Let's hope this time next week everything will be back to normal!
At least in Patters you can get a decent takeaway to keep one's spirits up.

Posts: 1762Quite likely that the curfew will continue tonight and perhaps into the weekend and beyond. All quiet on the western front right now, Maybe the calm before the storm?

Posts: 9Thanks to All and Be Careful!
Thanks to all your bloakes for the on the spot reporting... Tiger 888, Primo Bolan, Dominos Dick, Saint Mint, DG69, Doppel One, Run Mann, Breaknkng, Redfield10, Ekspat. It was a grand help to know what's going on for real.
Be careful and get out of there. We will live to be punters another day, it's not worth getting injured!
Breaknkng, I would love to meet up with you, but it doesn't look like i will be going in the midst of this mess. In a few months, we'll grab a chang pitcher and hit walking street, i promise.

Posts: 21Please keep posting up to date information, coverage in NEWS is not good. I am planning to cancel my trip next month, but would decided next month depending upon how things are reported here and other forums.

Posts: 1778The Curfew seems over for now, Minimart is open, street vendors out, at least where I am. There is a thread about the curfew on Thaivisa, where one of the menbers has a police radio and no major incidents were reported as I read. Mainly rumours it seems.
I will get the hell out of here today. Things are too unpredictible.

Hey guys,
I just received sms from one of my girls in Pattaya stating about the spread of the the BKK problem to Pattaya and that I shouldn't come to Thailand now. Checked the forum and am shocked to learn the gravity of the situation. This is really getting worse and resembling a banana republic type case except if it prolongs for long what will happen to the hundreds of starving bananas that we are?
God help Thailand.
