I haven't stayed there in years but when I did me and my mates each got charged a 1000 baht joiner fee. Fucking ridiculous for a hotel adjacent to walking street.

I found a TRipadvisor review from 2014 where a "single man" complained about a joiner fee at the Siam Bayshore Resort and concluded he would never say there again. Amazingly enough, the manager of the hotel responded that he was sorry but these were the rules.

In the meantime, I read another dozen reviews. Some parts of the hotel have a bad smell from a river that flows through the grounds. Some parts are renovated, and other parts have non working bathrooms.

If the Hilton is really GF, I will go there. It seems perfect for my needs except it is a little far from the action.

Quick report on Pattaya. Things are sure picking up, more and more bars starting to open on soi 6. Top of the street is still a bit barren but there are a few bars there. Then a few bars with barely a handful of girls each trying to draw your attention. Finally around Ruby club do things seem to pick up, a good dozen bars right there with plenty of talent. A short walk past a few closed bars and your in another hot zone with ToyBox, Playpen and more. Lots of girls around these bars. Bit further down you have the clubs that might cater to Asian guys more, girls sitting outside but hardly ever anything going on inside. Girls make the clubs look busy but when you walk in to a bar with 20 girls and only spot 4 guys you know that's where things are lacking. It's April now, soon May and June will be here and with it comes the heat.

Then there's LK metro. Place is a buzzin. Once again tons of bars opening, lots and lots of ladies screaming at you to come in but so many are just lacking customers. The triangle bar was rocking with the band playing but when you looked around the other bars were either closed or with very few customers. Buddy and I hit the new High Rollers, man what a joke. Thirty something girls sitting around staring at you hoping a glance will tell them its ok to come over for a drink. The best lookers seem to be outside trying to pull customers in, maybe they are paid more than the other girls. You know that fancy 12 inch wide duvet 'ribbon' that all of the hotels used to place on their beds, 12 inches wide and 5 feet long. A hotty was wearing something like that, a dress that didn't cover anything on either side from her shoes to the top of her head. A girl like that will bring you into a club, 20 very average looking girls sitting around inside the club will make you never come back. I stopped in a bar today. Thought I was skydiving though..

By "things picking up", you mean that more bars are open. Because your post certainly doesn't indicate that the number of customers is picking up.

It's April now, when High Season ends and the dreaded Low Season begins. Good for us, bad for the ladies.

I maintain contact with most of my harem from last Summer (the ladies who regularly came to my condo to drink). As you would imagine, the hottest ladies are still busy every night, those less hot are lonely and poor. In a month or so, even the hotter ladies will have nights with no customers.

I don't get it. Iheart responded to a person specifically asking about Siam Bayshore confirming he previously stayed there. However, you're telling iHeart he didn't actually stay at Siam Bayshore but stayed at Baywalk Residence? Maybe I'm wrong but I think iHeart knows where he stayed.

Also not understanding how you would ever get charged 1000 baht for a joiner at Baywalk. You don't walk through a reception area to get to your room. There are small passageways you cut through other than from Beach Road. The security guard couldn't care less if you had a girl with you. Unless this is really new Baywalk has no joiner fee. Were you actually charged a joiner at Baywalk?

In Pattaya there are only about 2 Russian hookers. The rest are just normal people. I have dated a few of them. One chick (Ukrainian actually) that I was dating wanted me to be exclusive. That was the end of that relationship. We are still friends and sometimes talk on facebook though (at least before the war we did.)

I was fucking one Russian chick and a buddy pulled my coat and said you know that chick is a hooker right? I said maybe that explains the time she had me pick her up near Beach Road saying she had just finished work. But she had never asked me for any money. Maybe she was like how they say in the Philippines thread that you are just supposed to slip money into their purse or say it is for their kid or something? My guilt is not strong enough for me to pay chicks I do not know to be actually fucking for money though.

Soi 6 just seems to be the easiest way to go about my day to day life. No more buying girls drinks, just a short interview and then point upstairs. If they are broke they'll take me up there for 1000 baht and the room fee. No wasting 170 baht asking where they come from.

A bit off the topic for those who live in Pattaya, if you had two Pfizer shots here in Thailand comp by the USA Been six months looking for a booster you can obtain a Pfizer booster at the large temple after the Banglamung police station north down Sukhumvit free. I got one two weeks ago not sure if you need to be 65 or over I walked up show my passport and papers for my first two shots got VIP treatment filled out some paperwork front of the line 20 minutes I was done out the door to rest area, mostly all Thais if you want certification paperwork in English need to ask clerk as soon as you walk out from building to waiting area.

It's funny, just as we're talking about this, I run into a police checkpoint right in front of my condo (The BASE) off 2nd road. Police was letting everyone through, but saw I'm an obvious tourist so pulled me over. He doesn't say anything, I just whip out my IDP. He asks where I'm from, doesn't even take a close look at my IDP, and lets me go.

Be careful out there. A few nights ago, I ran into 2 police checkpoints. 1 was for DUI checkpoint where I was asked to blow into a breathalyzer. That same night, I ran into another checkpoint which I believe was to enforce the curfew (it was around 1:30 AM).

On another note, I visited Kinnaree again. It was super busy last week (Saturday) so I thought that was the normal weekend activity. But it was abysmal today. More men than ladies. The waitress told me that the previous week was their 12th anniversary, which was why the owner had so many girls brought in and had all the topless dancing on the stages. There were still probably 2 or 3 decent ladies there.

FYI, they have buffets on Sat and Sun which are free if you rack up a bill of 1100 B. Otherwise, it's 395 B. I met a guy today at Kinnaree who purchased over 1100 B worth of drinks (including lady drinks). But they wouldn't credit him for the food because he already paid for the drinks each time it was brought out. Evidently, the food plus drink orders have to be on the same receipt for them to credit the food.

Forgot to note on my earlier report on bikes, end of month is pay day week so they are out. School payment is also coming up May and November.

As for Kinnarree even without their Anniversary Sat is the worse day because it is Babyback ribs, unless you get there early thereafter if you like a girl might get cock block by guys who like to buy drinks and eat before the deed then you have to wait for rooms which means more drinks although they aren't as expensive as some other places then the later it gets it could me sloppy 3 rds etc. Food days are Sat-Sun-Wed like one freelancer get their line etc.

Yes, at least from the US, you need a valid motorcycle license plus international driver's permit. Not sure how driver's licenses work in other countries. I'd assume it's the same (needing a motorcycle license to drive one). I have both.

I also charged the motorbike rental on my Chase credit card. I thought the Chase rental insurance would cover damage claims. But I just found out it doesn't.

Does anyone have experience with the Siam Bayshore Resort & Spa Pattaya? It is a four star hotel with good reviews. But, is it girl friendly?
