Posts: 35421st - APOLOGIES! NOT a mongering topic
As above I apologize for having to ask this - a non-mongering question - on here.
A few years back, a lot of people from Hong Kong (at the lead/behest of a few HKG show business celebrities) used to come down to Pattaya to consult with the "White Dragon King" monk. This monk supposedly has magical powers to cure terminally ill - especially cancer - patients.
I was one of the people who had reluctantly accompanied my S.O. and her cancer stricken Mother to try to find a cure for her. Whilst my mother in law DID survive for quite a bit longer period of time than even the most optimistic estimates by her doctor, she of course finally did succumb to the scourge.
Now I've got a pretty close friend of mine asking me about this White Dragon King and my opinion on him - for he's down with cancer too. I've asked around some of my celebrity friends - but they've basically all have been quite evasive in their replies or have actually been quite dismissive, calling him a con man instead.
The question to all you long time Pattaya residents:
- Have you heard about this guy?
- What is your opinion about him/his curative powers?
Realize that all this is pretty stupid/ridiculous for me to ask - especially here - but I don't really know anybody who's a resident in Pattaya and I do need to answer my friend one way or the other.
And even though IMHO, any and all "faith healers" are charlatan/con-men, yet I do know that if I was really ill, I'd probably also try out any and or all hopes for a cure. And in fact, I DID go down with my wife and her mom to consult this white Dragon King Monk.
Thank you all beforehand - and apologies - again - if anybody here thinks this post is out of line.
Peace
SEAJ
Ps. just did some searching and came to this full web site about the white Dragon King. Apparently, lot of believers and visitors from SE Asia http://www.whitedragonking.com/aboutus.htm

Actually, Pattaya is one of the best places for finding WL as to the shear overwhelming number of them there, just have to relax and be patient and a few will show up. Chiang Mai for me was mixed but ok, not as many WL and not as many cute ones there but sometimes will find the more avg looker or slightly above avg. and she will cling to you more than static clothes--happen to me twice there, may have to look at my very old reports to find the details. Siem Reap also was ok but the number of WL was not great but cheap enough though. And Svay P ?--didn't they close this place already or places to avoid.

Having done almost quarterly visits to Pats over the last 3 years I am a bit jaded and find the place a bit too well discovered.
However to the newbies I would like to say that do pay a visit to Tony's disco on walking street definitely found the place better stocked than lucifers though if one doesn't want to be with arab and south east asian crowd you should avoid the place though being an Indian I was quite ok with the place
Picked up a cuti east time of Chinese origin though shes brought up in Thailand and claimed worked in Singapore karoeke bars and happended to be here for a holiday. Had one of my best GFE experiences with her for two nights forgot her name as ususal
People who care about cis do visit Mixx disco but most of the girls over priced and carry an attitute that they are paying you rather than the other way round but some hotties definitely to be found but Russian evans ick them up fast and language is a barrier
For some more exotic uzbeks you need to build contacts around the VC hotel area athad some lovely friendly girls over the years) but its hit and miss and the quality of street walkers are down from yester years
Wish you luck and happy hunting.

I believe that Thai working girls would share this kind of apartment even if the rental rate is higher: 6000 baht/month for instance. Three girls would stay and pay 2000 baht per person monthly there.
By the way, even if I'm a frequent visitor and have many friends in this area, I'm not living in Pattaya, but in Northeastern Thailand, so, other ISG members may answer your question more accurately than me.

I had been in Pattaya, I would say, too many times. There is a hotel on 2nd st,. Inn, there was a cleck, young girl with a very nice ass. Last time I was there she agreed to come to my room, she never made it. I learned later that she had left, I was never able to meet her again.
I had never had a decent encounter with working girls in Pattaya, they were out to make money the faster the better. I had better luck at massage joints. I definitely had a better time in Chiang Mai, Siem Reap and of course Svay Pack!

My normal mongering destinations are Pattaya, Bangkok & Jakarta. Since I have never been to AC on an adult holiday, I decided to give it a try...lol
So Pattaya is doing great....Good for them!!!!!
I will most probably make a trip to Pattaya towards the end of the year as there is a sweetie from the hotel that I normally stayed in emailing me regularly to update me on the situation in Pattaya and inquire when I am going again. Maybe this time I will stay at a different hotel and get her to stay with me.....hehehehe
So Mate enjoy your stay in Pattaya. Hope our path will cross one day.
Cheers,

Hey fellas first post for me here on isg. I am in the process of gathering as much information as possible for my maiden trip to Thialand. I have been to the Dominican Replublic for 12 trips and wanted a change of scencery. Has anyone here been to both countries and give me their opinion on the differences.
For what i have read so far, the puta's in Thialand seem more pleasing toward their customers as well as much cheaper.
Thank You in advance for your opinions.

I don't post much but have to applaud your effort here. I see nothing to complain about. Maybe it belongs in Living in Thailand thread or something like that, but it could be a great cautionary tale for all the tourists who pass through here. You say what you write might not be for the Thai expat but I've lived here full time for 4 years and what I like about your report is that it puts the whole experience into one of the more realistic perspectives. It's not everyone's experience but it certainly is common. I have not had the rough time that you have but my alcohol use is fairly moderate. I've certainly had some bumpy times though.
The other thing it brings to mind is the long standing advice "do not fall in love".
My sincere best wishes for sorting this out and avoiding further heartburn.
