Thailand is difficult to get into. And Pattaya is in lockdown with all entertainment places closed till end January at least. But dating sites are doing great business. I'm in my third week out of quarantine and am working my way through the 40 or so girls on one dating website who nave contacted me offering 'short time'. My observation is that those over 27 or 28 tend to lie about their age and use photos from several years ago. But those between 18 and say 25 have no need to lie and mostly use recent photos.

My other observation for what it's worth is that Covid-19 is going to wreck the gogo bar business. After all, if you can get a cutie from a dating website for 1,000 to 1,500 baht, who will want to pay for lady drinks and barfines? Moreover, one lovely 24-year-old I just had told me she could get 5 customers a day from dating websites. So there's no need for girls like her to hang around Beach Road for hours or work in gogos or Soi 6 till 2 or 3 in the morning.

But maybe after Covid-19 has passed a mass invasion of Chinese and Indian gentlemen will save the gogo bar business? Who knows?

Take a walkdown soi honey in the afternoon multiple massage shops have girls hanging out in front. Technically the shop is closed but its actually open. If you are worried they will go to your room also. Got to walk / drive around a bit and you will see other "closed" shops with girls out front.

Talk to girls, there are plenty around the soi bukhao area around dinner time, they are all working girls or once were. Don't be shy, worst case girl has a BF and says no thanks when you ask for her Line ID. Once you do meet these girls ask if you know of anywhere open. I heard rumor of a bar with freelancers and shisha that's open somewhere but I have no interest in sitting in a smoky room so didn't follow up.

But I doubt if a vaccination certificate and health passport (whatever that might be) will avoid travel quarantine requirement for Thailand anytime soon.

How about walk down the street and actually talk to some of the passing girls or those running the mentioned cholera carts? Maybe a girl will talk back and strike up a conversation.

Maybe you will eye a chick at the grocery store or 7 Eleven that you can offer money to. Keep up with technology or get left behind. I gathered all the papers (Visa O-A, COE, etc.) and I was even ready to endure the quarantine. But at least to live in Pattaya before this 2nd confinement. There were no tourists but a few bars, massage parlors and gogos open. Again everything is closed. As you say.

But if it's to use only Thaifriendly no thanks. It's not even Pattaya's shadow to me. For me there is absolutely no interest in making such a trip under such conditions. Of course, if I was a stuck expat I would do it like everyone else.

I canceled everything last week: flight, hotel and COE. I prefer to wait. Maybe 1, 2 or 3 months. I've been waiting for 1 year, I can still wait a few months. By then there may be a vaccine for me and a health passport to avoid quarantine. We can always dream. I hope the people there will let us know when life starts again.

I agree with you, for the most part. I too will be vaccinated this year, eventually. But I doubt if a vaccination certificate and health passport (whatever that might be) will avoid travel quarantine requirement for Thailand anytime soon. Certainly, I would not see the authorities accepting vaccination as an alternative to quarantine for a long time unless the evidence is clear from first responder countries like Israel, UK and others who are enthusiastically grasping the vaccine rollout. There are just too many clinical unknowns, even among the so-called experts. Other countries with low vaccination uptake rates (for whatever reason) will only muddy the waters further.

I too have been waiting a year to get back to Thailand and have already cancelled 2 trips in that time. All along I've been watching and hoping for some positives. I even said to myself I would endure the Quarantine and Visa / COE dances and hoops, to spend some time there. But then the problem accelerated again and the inevitable happened on the ground in Thailand. I see no point in spending time in a locked down Thailand. Start / stop lockdowns make it impossible to plan.

I will give a report after I get out. But I won't be using ThaiFriendly or any of the dating sites. And, no, I won't be pursuing any freebies like the nonsense being posted here.

I wish there were special threads for freebie reports. I would not read them. Anytime I read a report and the poster starts to write about meeting a freebie I stop reading; they're all fantasies and totally worthless. Serial freebie reporters are crap and I totally ignore them. Now p4p reports interest me because I have a chance of actually meeting those girls.
