Ever hear the term 'going native'? I speak Thai and 4 months ago I had a simple room for 35 days for B12000 including power and water. You just need to tolerate other than 5* quality. Usually just the two * - you could also get a cheap apartment for about B4500/ month. Spartan and not close to the beach.

I totally agree with the master. I DO buy myself a cold beverage at most every club I enter (unless I immediately see the club is a dude and I immediately walk out), but I will not buy a lady drink until the girl has set with me and talked for a bit and, only then if I find her interesting. Yeah, many of us are nice guys and we give in, but this is our vacation and we don't want to spend time with selfish girls who impose on us, right? So, just say "not right now". They will soon move on.

I am the same with tips. If the girl provides a basic service, I only pay the fee. The girls are all independent contractors so I pay the fee we agree on, but will only tip if they went above and beyond. So, if on Soi 6, she commits to providing me with BBBJ and CFS for 1000, and if she does that, I give her the 1000. If she is a starfish, I will pay that, as there was no agreement that she do anymore than provides the means for me to get off via said BJ or FS. Now, if she provides a GFE or PSE, then I will tip her accordingly. One girl was so awesome I tipped her 50%, and she thereafter gave incredible service worth every penny.

The point is to pay a girl what you both agree to. Only pay more if she deserves more. And to buy a drink for a girl who has done nothing to earn it is not right. Due to the woeful level of talent on Beach Rd I have started to progress to Soi 6. However I am somewhat confused about the room pricing which seems to vary from place to place even though the price for a chick seems to be constant at 1000 baht.

For the rooms I have been quoted 350 baht twice, 400 baht once, and 300 baht twice. I am very wary about being ripped-off for anything in Thailand, so I am wondering if the quotes above 300 baht are designed to rip-off unsuspecting punters? Or are there in fact different price levels for rooms between the separate bars?

The standard price is 300 to 350. You would not be getting ripped off with either price. The price for the room on Soi 6 is not necessarily related to the quality of the room. A few bars have some really nice ST rooms, thought most have pathetic rooms with a bed covered with a sheet that hasn't been washed since who knows when, and with a communal shower where people across the street can see you naked. If one has a germ phobia, either avoid Soi 6 or BF the girl back to your hotel!

It's already some years that some bars raise their room price to 350 and with the new year all Nightwish Group Bars raise their room price to 400 baht.

Who seeks finds, he can have ST with less than 1000 in beach road. In soi chaiyapoon is normal to pay 1000 all in for ST.

Anyway he will be fine with soi 6, beach road, Thaifriendly, soi honey, soi chaiyapoon, etc. He could also shag 2 girls a day.

No problem at all, feel free to order whatever you like: coke, sprite, orange juice, lemon tea, etc. Up to you.

Good point. But you have to be clear. In every town, in every city in every country I have been to, some people think that bars / clubs / gogo bars / strip clubs (that don't have a cover charge) are happy with customers who come in and sit down for 2 - 6 hours and just order one drink.

A regular customer is in a different category. Random guys (no matter their race, religion or color) who wander into a bar and don't' buy a drink an hour or barfine a girl are a waste of time and resources for the bar. Unfortunately, Indians have the stereo type of being cheap, so Rocky is going to have to deal with that issue. We all know that there are many girls who have tiered pricing structure, and many of us know that the girls will typically quote Indian guys higher prices. Girls also quote older guys, fat guys, ugly guys higher prices. It is what it is.

You are 100% correct that Rocky can easily have a great time on a $2 k budget for girls. But again, you have to be clear. If Rocky wants 20 year old who are 8/10+, that budget is not going to work. If Rocky goes to Gogo clubs and wants to barfine a girl, that budget is not going to work (if he wants to.

Devils Den was still on my to-do list, so I went over to try it out. About 7 girls to choose from on the early evening. As always: pictures on their website www.devilsdenthailand.com look better than the original. I selected Som and let her choose the third person.

The whole procedure started with the ritual showercleaning and then on the bed with mirrors on the walls and ceiling, so you can watch yourself from multiple perspectives. This is the problem. You said you recognize that Indians have a bad reputation and want to find a solution, but then you are going to perpetuate the perception in LOS that Indians are cheap.

How are you going to go to the clubs and not drink? How are you going to get girls if you don't offer to buy them a drink at the bar? (Separate issue being you will be kicked out of the GoGos that actually let you in for not buying drinks) 10 k is honestly unrealistic if you want to monger every day you are there. You could maybe get away with 2-3ST girls and the rest of the days is just walking around. But then what is the point of going?

My recommendation is to not go until you have a more realistic budget, but since it seems like the trip is happening in a few days you probably have to hit up Beach Road or one of the Soi 6 bars (which will make you buy drinks). Soapies are likely to wreck your budget and clubs are simply out of the question.

Well, I guess that you don't have to. Personally I like to buy one lady drink to get some time to sit with the girl and get an idea of what kind of girl she is.

Guess it is a personal preference to pay for that time to "interview" the girl before going up and since it is so small money we're talking about I find it to be well invested money. But sure, if someone is on a very tight budget, like our Indian friend Rocky2300, it is optional to to skip any drinks and go directly upstairs to the room. Still I would recommend to pay for that time to sit with a girl for a while, before taking her upstairs.

Usually you can sit there and dick around with them all day without buying them a drink. They really don't have shit else to do (if it is not a really busy place - and if it is, then she is going to be gone right after the drink is finished anyway).

The times that I do buy a chick a drink, I do it after she has been sitting with me screwing around for a while.
