Just remember when they say limo they are not talking in the western sense of the word. A limo would be considered a normal car (generally Volvo) that is not marked as a taxi. I don't blame you about the bus, going anyway, because you will be so excited to get there. I only take the bus to and from the airport when doing a flight to / from The Philippines or inside of Thailand. Otherwise, my flight to / from the USA is out of the bus operating hours anyway. Also, if your flight arrives an hour and a half or more before the bus is due to leave then I would just go ahead and do the taxi because again you will be excited to get there and won't feel like waiting around. Believe it or not though it takes the same amount of time whether by car or bus. I have timed it several times.

Gotcha Mr. Int'l and thanks for the input. They advertise new Honda 4-door sedans. Hope they got the sea water and radiation out of them, ha ha. I'm not one to take shortcuts on transportation. My flight gets in at 9:10 p. M, so I'll have plenty of time to get to the hotel, clean up and be on WS by 11:30 p. M, just as the going gets good. I'll do my negotiations there!

This is really a shocking news? How these things can happen in Thailand? And in Pattaya? Looks there is a sex tourism ring going on in there, such a plain tourist location.

Surprisingly prices for girls have not changed much at all.

Those prices are correct, plus bar fine.

Beer bars are the cheapest fines, but 200 + 1 drink is the best I got so far.

I once got offered no bar fine, and no price with a fair looking 40 year old manager sort, but made excuses as I wanted YST.

But if you figure in the 25% depreciation of the USD, plus hotel, it is fair to say its really up by 35% or so, plus airfares and a bloody good grope and search by TSA goons.

Personally speaking rating is a endless since as it has been mentioned that another person trash is another personal treasure? This debate like pricing is endless and somewhat useless but everyone has their rights to voice that opinion as long as on the otherside one is open to accept the opinion of others instead of trying to force fee it to others?

I'm returning to LOS and will be heading straight to Patts on Saturday night. I'll land late (11pm) at the international airport in BKK what are my options at that time? And from my memory of earlier this year in LOS, taxi to and from Patts to BKK was 1000 Baht each way door to door. Now, I'll be arriving with a friend, is the 1k taxi charge from BKK to Patts per person or for both us?

BTW, if anyone wants to have a few drinks together while hunting from Sunday onward, let me know.

I just finished my first trip to Pattaya after more than 5 years. I regularly get to Bangkok, but not Pattaya. My impression based on a couple of trips in 2004-2005 was I felt gawked at by eco tourists and thought that the bars were more about shows and spectacles catering to regular tourists and not really about hooking up with the ladies (mainly into Walking Street).

I don't know if I changed or Pattaya changed, but I can't articulate how much better Pattaya is now than my old memories of it. The whole thing is just tearing apart at the seams with beautiful ladies, and I couldn't believe how many ladies I found exactly like I like them. Although I remembered from before the bars being mainly about shows, this time when specifically seeking out that type of bar (such as when bar-hopping with a lady) , we couldn't even find such a bar (except Angelwitch). There are no longer hordes of giggling girls from Singapore in the bars just watching the shows. Also much fewer Japanese guys compared to Bangkok. The best bar (best quality ladies) was Baccara although unfortunately I got too drunk and made a fool of myself there and pretty much drove away all of the ladies, in that particular bar. I hope they have a high turnover rate and don't remember me when I come back.

In comparison to Pattaya, my long-time favorite city Bangkok now seems pretty dull. I can hardly even imagine going back there now. The funny thing is with the traffic congestion in Bangkok, it doesn't take that much longer to get from Suvarabhumi to Pattaya compared to Sukhumvit area of Bangkok.

Dude, the ride is only 1 hour and 15 minutes and you need a beverage service? Pick up some water out of Family Mart in the airport for 7 baht and keep going. Usually a taxi from BKK airport to Pattaya is 1000 baht + 60 baht tolls. People will try to get you for 1300. Since I started speaking a little Thai I have been getting them for 900 all in by jokingly telling them I am Thai while showing my Thai drivers license, and saying the numbers in Thai.

I say: Pattaya tao rai khrap?

They say: One thousand three hundred baht.

I say: (raising voice) MAI DAI! (can not) Bad roi, na? (800, right?)

They say: Neung pun (1000).

I say: Gao roi thuk yang, pah! (900 everything, let's go)

They say: Pah. (let's go) and get out of the car to open the trunk.

From Pattaya to the airport it is 800 baht + 60 baht tolls. If you flight arrives between 7am & 5pm you can take the bus (http://www.belltravelservice.com/) that will take you right to your hotel for 200 baht. Likewise if your flight departs between 12pm and after (last bus from Pattaya at 5pm) you can use this option as well.

There's more ugly on Soi 6 now for sure, and more fat too. But if you're willing to keep trolling up and down the soi (though it does get a little embarrassing) sooner or later you can usually find something nice. And if not, well, just walk up Saai 2 to the soapies.

Red Point has declined sharply in the last year or two. And there's an especially nasty mama-san behind the bar who likes to insult farang in Thai, assuming they won't understand. Last time I told her exactly what I thought of that, and haven't been back since.

For consistent down-and-out sleaze, it's hard to beat My Friend You these days. But there's a reason they keep those rooms so dark.

I agree, but they have now nice rooms (with) shower on the first floor. And you can afterwards sit outside and watch the movement, until you are ready for another go with another girl.

I'm planning on visiting Pattaya in October 2011. I last visited 5 years ago and prices were around 1000-1500 for LT. Can anyone advise on what the prices and quality is like these days? I realise prices are up, the same hotel I used is even up by 35.

While I was there I have paid 1000, 1500 & 2000 for long time. Depends on the girl.

But short time has always been around 1000, if the girls are from a beer bar or from a disco.
