Can anyone recommend a farang owned bar in this area that isn't a rip off.

Pay for your drinks as you order them, you just have to watch what the charge is. That is my experience, we have all been ripped off mate, learnt from being burnt.

I finished my drink and on the way out out told the manager I wouldn't be back.

All the bars have the same business plan in this competitive market. Be your own judge and avoid stuff that you feel is a rip off. I have not seen a single bar, be it in Pat or BKK that is different. They are all guest friendly but has an eye for your wallet.

NB, great report and enjoyable read! As always, I enjoy reading your adventures, especially from another perspective that does not mind spending a little more for those once in a lifetime experiences! Your latest tale reminds me of my first and only time in Angeles. Wonderful girl I met that made the whole trip (and Angeles) a better memory. I might be the miniority and have lived here for many years. As far as I'm concern What's Up! Is just another new amusement park and soon will die from its own concept or just a high price place to visit but its not going to take over Pattaya, Bangkok or Thailand. My reason are simple. First as you guys noted its is a Agency that is providing the girls and getting a big cut? That Agency that is providing the product hopefully be the Thai Mafia if not sooner or later they will come in one way or another and demand a cut? The cut means less profit for everyone and no one is going to like that? or if not mafia the owners will try to cut the Agency out and bring in their own talent and what happens if the owners have a bad eye then what? LOL

As for the girls, every comment I have read so far is that the place is loaded with stunners! As commented by many poster Pattaya seem to be in a decline LOL so where is this Agency going to continue to provide everyone so call stunners continuously? It is new now, but sooner or later it will run it course and either maintain the status quo or close. I have seen it before over and over again!

There will always be a place like Beach Road, Soi 6, Soi Buakhao, Walking St. Go go's and a place like What's Up, just like there are stunners. Fat / Skinny, cheap and expensive. It is What Up now but sooner or later it will be What's up with that place?

Enjoy it fellas more power to those that enjoy it and those that don't enjoy it. Pattaya is a big place with lots of variety of choices. Not everyone is a stunner and can work at a place like What Up, being me I'll check it out but in the end I will continue to do what makes LBM happy and I'm not going to loose any sleep about some Agency taking over!

I spent 2x as much as I planned to spend in Pattaya. But I was not going to deny myself what I wanted once I got there. Given that I paid the list price in What's Up then '[I] Got [my] money's worth and its all good. I think you got excellent service for the price you paid. Some people are looking for a GFE experience, not a warm hole to pound for 15 mins. ' Taking her out of the bar was expensive. Hooking up with her in the afternoons and in BKK was more reasonable. I have no regrets and would not change a thing. If I had passed on her I would have regretted it. I know because I have made that mistake in the past.

What I have reported so far is just the tip of the iceberg. I toured South East Asia for 46 days this year. I travelled to HKG, Macau, AC, Cebu City, Port Barton – Palawan, Malate, Pattaya and BKK in that order. By my calculation it added up to 39 sessions with 27 girls and 12 repeats. Among the many highlights, I paid 500hk for an Indonesian DH in Wanchai. 1300p for a LIA girl next door type in AC. 6000p for a spotlight dancer in Arena Club in Cebu City. 2000p for a MBC FL in Ermita. 1500bk to 2000bk for my ST Bangkok Go Go girls. 3700bk and 4900bk for my La Belle soapy massage girls, and around 1900hk for my Chinese super models in Macau. I also spent 5 days solo on a beach in Palawan with mother nature where I spent 1200p / night for a rustic cabin on the beach. My Pattaya girl was hot and the best looking girl I found in Pat, but she was not the best looking or best performing girl I shagged on this trip. Xiao Han, a gorgeous Chinese super model I had in East Spa was the best looking girl and Sa Sa, a Singaporean super model I met at Familia Nobre was the best performer. Wendy aka Jessica in Cebu City was not too shabby either. Most of my girls were 'B' cup naturals and under 25. That is the way I like them. Mrs. Natty was 27. I have been to AC and Phnom Penh a few times. Prices are going up everywhere. I like AC, but I think Thai girls are on average better looking. I have had good times in PP, but finding a pretty girl nowadays requires a search. The days of $5 to $10 girls is long gone and the $20 days are ending. Manila is expensive if you go for the quality. Same same for Cebu City. And Macau is the most expensive place I have been to in Asia, but they have the finest selection of women, IMO anywhere. So where is this Shangri-La where beautiful pussy are cheap and plentiful?

But whereas a tourist may throw money at the tree until the fruit decides to fall down, I shake the shit out of the tree to get the fruit from it. We both are going home with the same fruit in the end.

But I hear you. I hate tourists too. I live in South Florida. Every winter these “snowbirds” fly down like hordes of locust. They drive like shit, bring the flu, and thanks to them I can’t go out to my favorite restaurants on a Friday or Saturday night without a 2 week reservation. That is why I get out of town in February/March every year and fly to Asia. But, without them the local economy would suffer - property values down, taxes up, and a not nearly as many good restaurants to enjoy. Damn!

Yes totally agree I can't believe the prices now, I used to find quality on the streets off soi buakow before they went to work get there numbers and hook up later for as you say 1, 000 st it's finished here, totally finished, but like I say it doesn't help with the money some of the guys on this board are throwing around.

Thailand is now pushing the minimum wage to 300 odd baht per day, say $10 and the businesses are screaming blue murder. That is for a very long, hard days work, maybe 10 hours of back breaking rice planting. Now think how this translates into bar fines and LT ie 1500 = 5 days work on full pay. Or at whats up a 140 bt drink translates to about $80. And it was nice of someone to blow the lid on Agency girls, a nice way of saying everyone is getting a cut! So remember when you negotiate, and on that multiple. There are many other fish in the pond.

I always ask to feel the hand, and pick the ricecropper sorts, as the city ones are spoiled brats. I also don't understand this thing where girls try to sleep in bed, in their street clothes. Can't afford pajamas or sleeping attire that fits their 'rate card'.
