Oh alas I visited Pattaya without knowing. The Beach Road is largely shut down by a horrible market for worthless junk: shoes, ladies blouses and handbags, and other worthless items. Most of the dear ladies have failed to show up as they are uncomfortable amongst the crowds and under the disapproving eyes of the typical socially-conservative Thai citizens who sell this tourist garbage.

This sounds like the lower sois along sukhumvit in Bangkok. But the crowds and vendors there have never chased the SWs away, where there is room for them to stand, such as along the wall or by the road where the bus stop is, near soi 5. For a while this year the police were cracking down harder than ever since 2007, but that was before the election of YingLuck's party.

Of course this is the intention of the market. Drive away the hated streetwalkers and farang.

Are you sure of that? Or is it only a matter of business? Maybe your girls just moved to another spot, or are awaiting your phone call at home? Or you dropped by at a low time? In my country when the BIB hassle SWs at a certain location in the crackhood they just move to another street.

So now my visit is almost totally a waste of time. Boys, get used to it, as with the return of democracy our options will be ever-narrowing from now on.

I'm sure BKK would have had plenty to suit your SW tastes. Chinatown 300 Baht, Grace hotel 500, soi 4 & 5@sukh 700, NPL 1000. IMO it's a buyer's market here now and the bang for my baht is better than it ever has been since 07. To put it another way, the girls are hotter and offering up more for less with a smile. Though perhaps by the high season and an influx of many farang that will not be the case.

OK, two more questions:

1. Does anyone know how long this "sidewalk marketplace" will last?

2. Does anyone remember who posted that excellent report with the interesting photos of the bargain girls in the shacks at the end of Walking Street and / or when it was posted?

If I recall that was Mr. Enternational in the BKK forum maybe 1 or 2 months ago.

I don't like the other options.

During the Great Crackdown, many of them gave up the business entirely and went to work at Big C or in factories and what-not (the things poor people must do in countries where the easy jobs like prostitution are disallowed). As for what they do during shorter periods of enforced holiday, I find from my telephoning that many take the opportunity to go home for a visit, and quite a lot just sit in their apartments doing jigsaw puzzles and watching movies. Seriously, I asked a girl 'did I wake you when I called you to meet me at 1:00 AM?" and she said 'no I was just doing a jigsaw puzzle and watching a movie'.

Not trying to start something with you. Just curious. I have been to Pats 3 times. You are talking about the Beach Road. FL's you are interested in?

It seems there are many more as you go back to second Road. I have met them just walking around the Soi 10 area and surrounding streets.

I grew up in San Francisco, California (USA) in the 1960s. One of my fondest memories as a boy was driving down Broadway Boulevard and seeing the go-go dancers in elevated plexi-glass boxes outside the clubs. Even better was the larger than life photos of Carol Doda with her 44DDs outside the Condor Club.

This was post-beatnik San Francisco. There was drugs and debauchery everywhere you looked. The friendly ladies outside the Walking Street clubs are fairly tame in comparison. Funny thing, the Condor Club is still there today, but the Carol Doda placards are long gone!

I can't help but wonder what Carol Doda looks like now; must be an epic struggle with gravity.

Visited the newly opened MOON on Walking Street. That's the one with the bulbous "Moonscape" facade. Total waste of time and a B65 draft!

Interior is all white with colored lighting. Girls are dressed "coyote" style, with all white halter tops and short shorts; nothing whatsoever showing. There are some very good looking dancers but they all have the 1000 yard stare and make no eye contact. This could be Pattaya's first bar with robots.

Don't bother.

While I was in Pattaya Boby returned to the Den after being absent for a while.

Based on some very good prior reviews I had originally booked her for my last trip only to see her leave before I arrived, so I decided to use her return to make a booking. If I remember correctly I had her on her first day back at the Den. And she was horny as hell.

Well, since you asked. .

The Go-Go girls are taking another bashing and being rejected in favor of those 'Non Mechanical' fuck goddesses that pander to all customers' whims / fantasies and never give a bad performance.

When I first got to Pattaya I had a little trouble with the agogo scene specifically with starfish, runners, and most inexplicably, rejection. I was used to the termas in Rio where rejection is almost unheard of. DD was similar to the termas in many ways. No rejection, anal, excellent performance, in-house ST. DD is billed as an expensive option but it really is not that much more expensive than a gogo girl especially when you consider that sometimes you can buy quite a few drinks and LDs before finding that special someone in the agogos. What DD did for me was got me a great session with 2 lovely ladies and it seemed to get me on track for the rest of the trip to have some fine sessions with gogo and beer bar girls.

Are the guys joining the queue making a good choice? Should they believe the hype? Well when they do eventually have their turn they will find out. They will learn if they have made an expensive mistake or found something available in no other place in Pattaya. I met a guy the other night. He had DD in his boxes to be ticked. He tried it and the process didn't work for him. Instead of a tick he ended up putting a cross in his box.

Since the guy put the cross in the box it was almost as valuable a lesson because now he knows it is not for him. To me the $100 or so he spent was worth trying it and finding out (and I am sure it was not horrible or a complete waste, just a non-repeater). From what I have read a lot of guys leave with them same perspective, it is too contrived, artificial, no thrill of the hunt, etc. Some guys love it and think it is the best. For me it was a PSE on par with any I have had anywhere in the world. That being said if I was on a trip to Pattaya I probably would not go there more than once a week because I prefer the GFE which is easier to get but working the bars and taking a girl out LT. Pattaya is big enough for both kinds of venues and lots of other types too.
