Gentleman. If I was coning from Toronto Canada. Do I have to fly into another airport. Having issues finding Pattaya airport. Is it cheaper to hop from the uk.

The airport you fly into is Bangkok (BKK), then about a two-hour trip by taxi/bus to Pattaya. There is an airport closer to Pattaya called U-Tapao (UTP), but don't think about it in terms of flights from Canada. U-Tapao is used mainly for domestic flights, but there are some international charter flights that land there during high season.
Unless you can get to London at a hugely discounted rate (or for nothing) it won't be cheaper to fly via London. Check prices for EVA airlines to BKK out of Vancouver. Also, with the Canadian dollar as strong as it is, look at prices for the non-stop Thai Airways flight between JFK and BKK. That is the quickest way to get to Thailand from Toronto (via New York).

Hi, Canadian Cowboy,

the Airport of Pattaya is U-Tapao, about one hour to drive by car into the direction of Rayong.
But this is an Airport for domestic flights. I only know, that some Russian aircrafts are allowed to land there. All other international flights end at Bangkok Airport.
And for you it seems to be more comfortable to take a taxi in Bangkok and go to Pattaya then take a domestic flight from Bangkok to U-Tapao and then drive back one hour to Pattaya.

man i gotta say that the coyote gogo there in pattaya has all hot girls but the bar fine was outrageous especially for pattaya. i was gonna come back at 1 am to get this girl there but then i left and happened upon a really cute greeter for a gogo where all the dancers were pretty much non stunners. she was a lot less expensive than coyote and every bit as cute. so i guess if you want to spend a lot of money and get a really cute girl quickly coyote is okay, but i'd rather not support their outrageous prices.

first of all, unlike most bars and gogos around Pattaya, Soi 6 is more or less a short-time place which also provides rooms upstairs. It's also cheap, the barfine of approx. 300 baht does include the room, actually most girls live in these rooms, asking for 500-700 for a session.

Drinks are cheap and the girls aren't pushy, never met one asking for a drink. The girls who work there seemed to have a certain attitude and are usually a lot of fun, never met a starfish and those girls are often "open" for everything. Also some fresh meat from upcountry, something you won't find in a gogo.

All in all it's the atmosphere, far more relaxed than Soi 7+8 or Walking Street. In the past this venue was mostly visited by expats and not known by tourists. Many moons back even the Town Hall was located there.

A friend of mine used to own a bar there and he told me that some girls - even extremely ugly IMHO - made very good money by having up to 6-8 customers per day.

Sure, even Tahitian Queen 1 on Beach Road used to have a nice room in the back, but all in all it's the attitude of the girls and the fact that you can pop them right away. It's all a bit dark and shabby inside, but still fun.

In Secrets, as well as many other establishments, the girls with the red lanyards (cords around their necks to which their name badges are attached) cannot be barfined. That is correct. The girls with green lanyards can be barfined. It's mostly service and support staff and the mamasans that wear the red lanyards, but sometimes you'll find service staff wearing green.
BTW, Larry is an employee of Secrets, but he isn't the owner. The owner's name is Ben.

We went there last night in a group of four. My buddy who has been doing a lady from BKK, a non-pro, who happened to have a car, so the transpo was solved at this time.

Yes, it not too far to reach the seafood location. Its about 2-3 km from the begining of Jomtien, on the road side where they set wooden tables by the beach, and watching the sun going down was suh an wonderful experiece!

From my experience visiting Pattaya for the last 9 years and now retired in Pattaya. I don't hit the mongering places like many of you for reasons that most of you know. But like most things what comes around goes around! The nightly news and farang newspaper of late sugguest more problems with Germans. My point of view is Pattaya is all about money!

Maybe it's the strenght of the Euro that is attracting the problem drinking tourist or the time of the year but whatever the reason when the elements of money comes into question and the small gangs and the Thai Mafia and the local police get involve things will get back to normal! Whatever that is suppose to be? Even my limited visits to Walking Street, Soi 6,7,8, I have seens fights and drunks running around and acting like idiots and the next time it dead! The local police has recuited many Farangs working out of Soi 9, on beach road to help them with these types of arrest. As for Pattaya going downhill, I think not!

Just got back from Thailand. While in Pattaya I stayed at Dynasty Inn on Soi 13 and Secrets right off walking street. At first I thought Dynasty Inn was really nice but my room had roaches and not just a few. I have stayed at the Dynasty resort before up on the hill and never had any problems. The resort is not very convenient but it is serene and a nice place to relax. Secrets has a great bar, is convenient, and the owner Larry was a good guy and the hotel had the most comfortable bed I slept in while in Thailand. It was a little noisy though as I was warned about on the forums, but it didn't cause me any problems. I didn't take any girls from Secret's bar cause I fell in love (not literally, well almost) with a girl from one of the gogo's but I noticed a few cute ones there at Secrets. I mostly went during the day to the bar so I probably didn't get to see their choicest girls. I am curious about something one of the girls said though. She said the girls with red necklaces cannot be barfined. Anyone know differently? I was gonna ask the owner cause I saw him there all the time but then the last two times I was in the bar he was out.

I dont blame the English in general but just the "lad" types...if you are from England you will know exactly the type I mean...if you are not from England then it may be difficult for me to explain.

I agre with Sid, I really think this is part of a trend...I have been going to Pattaya probably at least once a month for the last 3 years and there seems to be a bigger number of these "lads" now....maybe I am wrong maybe it was just a new years holiday thing, but I can well imagine Thailand becoming more popular back in England as described....
