I have been to the breakfast buffet at the LK Empress this morning, and it was good. 300 Baht is a steep price though. It's open between 7 and 11 AM.

That's double the 150 baht price for the breakfast buffets at the Lek Hotel and the Apex Hotel. But as Mr. Mogwai noted in his very helpful tour d' Pattaya, both of those hotels are currently closed.

At 300 baht, the breakfast buffet at the LK Empress is definitely "steep." That's 15 baht more than Casa Pascal charges. In my view, the buffet at Casa Pascal is the gold standard for breakfast buffets. But the extra 15 baht isn't going to bankrupt any of us, and it's nice to see a new entrant in the field.

I would eagerly read any reports providing more detail about the breakfast buffet at the LK Empress.

Let me try and summarize the info posted here for Central Pattaya:

1. Agogo, karaoke and beer bars are opened (Buakhao, soi 6, walking street). But they are not opened daily. Perhaps during weekends only? As they don't want to pay more or take risks during weekdays due to lack of customers.

2. On the days they are opened: soi 6 are all open, buakhao are half open, maybe just 10-20% of walking street is open. Check the alleys (or alley within alley), as usual.

3. Treetown is opened daily.

4. Everything still start to close after 9 pm. Maybe with allowance given for an hour or so?

5. Beach road stretch is still has freelancers every night.

Feel free to correct this summary.

Walking around Pattaya is very depressing at the moment. Even though I have seen several video's on Youtube in the last couple of months, seeing in reality how devastating the virus has been to this town has hit me hard.

My favorite hotel, the Dynasty Inn in Soi 13, is closed now. In fact the whole Dynasty Group went down, because their hotels in Bangkok are also closed, and their website is gone.
The nearby Lek hotel and Apex hotel didn't survive either. So no more breakfast buffets there, to my regret.
And La Maison, further down in Soi 13, is also history. The other hotels, and some restaurants and massage parlors are still open, but look barely alive.
The McDonald's and Starbucks (thank god) in the Avenue mall, opposite this soi, are still open. And so is Kiss Food, a little bit further down Second Road.

Central Festival still looks the same. I didn't see any closed shops there, although I didn't check every floor. The supermarket in the basement is still there. And so is the food court, but it's renovated and looks totally different now. Same high prices though.
The supermarket and restaurant in the basement of the Royal Garden Mall are closed. Just like the nearby McDonald's, Starbucks and Hooters.
Hops Brew House is still open. But the Beergarden at the end of Beach Road didn't survive.
The Wave Hotel and LK The Empress are also still open. The latter has a sign outside saying they have a breakfast buffet every morning, so maybe I'll check it out tomorrow.
Tipp Plaza is almost completely deserted. And the Subway in front of it is closed.
So far I have only seen two laundry shops that were open. One in Soi 10 and another one in Soi 13/3. So that can be a practical problem, although most hotels can take care of it as well. Albeit for a higher price usually.
These were just some random observations. I could make a very long list if I wanted, but there's no point in that.
