In April 2017 the authorities announced that they would allow the construction of the casino and that work would begin in August 2017. From what I know no construction has been started.
When the former Mayor was elected it was speculated he would push for the approval of the casino which his father connection wanted of course rumors. The approval authorization is just locally but has to be approved by the larger government the reason nothing has or can be done. Fifteen years ago I heard about the casino supposedly a piece of land is already in place along the bench in Jomtien located somewhere between Soi 9-11?
Personally, when I heard it I was against and hope it never happens!
Hey you guys with boots on the ground in Pattaya, is it true that the authorities are going to allow casinos in Pattaya? That would certainly enhance my retirement experience as I would like to have at least one night per week in a casino.

Americans, unless obviously well off are usually met with a poor welcome compared to other races as Americans are usually poor and cheap Charlie's. The girls learn fast and they know to go to guys from countries that have had wage growth.
Amazing that you say that! When I was in Pattaya in June the majority of girls couldn't tell an Australian accent from an American accent and constantly asked me and my American friend what part of the world we are from.
As I often state these are uneducated farm girls and they would not have a clue what wage growth is little know what country's are experiencing it.
Me thinks 1/ sour grapes and 2/ this comment belongs in Stupid Shit in Thailand thread.

There's been talk about it for some time but nothing likely to happen for a while. It may come at the expense of part of walking street and Bali Hai pier as it is likely the best location for it.
It definitely will change pattaya. You think there's an issue with Chinese tourists now? Wait until a casino gets here.

Quick fly by Soi 6 today at 2 pm. The top half of Soi 6 had many girls while the Beach Road part starting from The Clansman was a bit sparse. Not much talent today. I did get a lady drink for one girl in one of the air conditioned bars because it was a bit hot today. No DFK or HJ when buying the drink so I ended my time with her fairly quickly. Tits felt ok though. Cmon guys be more demanding with these girls!
I had one buddy that was being polite and asking them on dates. I said that is not what Soi 6 is for and showed him how you are supposed to be raunchy with the girls.

Please tell me where I can buy a house in the US for 5 k. Inquiring minds would like to know.
On a whim, I did a quick google search and amusingly / amazingly enough, there are several. Who knew! You'll have to put a lot of extra work into them to make them habitable though.
Nah sorry, there are no stereotypes like this that apply to countries with tens of millions of people. Anyway, taxes are higher in Japan and Korea than America on top of their lower wages. Japan's entire country is in debt to the tune of twice their annual GDP, they're actually in NEGATIVE INTEREST. It actually costs money to lend them anything. And Tokyo has one of the highest costs of living in the world. Top 10 most expensive cities lists always include Tokyo, sometimes at #1. Tokyo is where half the population lives. In South Korea 80 percent of the population is in Seoul where you need a massive "key money" deposit to even rent an apartment. There are places all over America where you can buy an actual house for $5000. Can't do that anywhere in Japan or Korea. Cars are cheaper in America too.
There are lots of cheap Japanese and Korean backpackers going through Thailand on a few Baht and plenty of big spender Americans making it rain.
Here: http://www.windmillpattaya.com/about...ip-membership/ The Windmill website has its high roller section showing the top ten spenders. There's a picture showing who spent between 25,000 and 103,000 Baht in one night. No Japanese or Koreans on there. USA appears 3 times, more than any other country.
Not every white guy in Thailand is a pensioner on a budget and not ever Japanese and Korean is a big spender. So no, the stereotypes just can't be applied according to the color of a person's passport.
Just say, some people spend a lot of money and some don't. Don't try to tie it to countries.

Whether you accept it or not Chinese, Koreans and Japanese are the heavy rollers all over the world now. Gone are the days when the white mongers ruled the roost. I spent my summer in German FKKs this year and Caucasian bobbyists have to get out of the way or they'll be trampled by the European working girls making a bee line for the Asian mongers. I understand, its a hard pill to swallow but the evidence is everywhere. Whoever throws around the most cash calls the shots.
