Finally I'm here. Not much time to read and write, so I will delay my reports later (maybe after journey) and go straight with my request:

So, after weeks of reading and knowing secrets to make it here, eventually I found out an unexpected (for me) turn, giving me some trouble to solve.

So, even venues like Lucifer or the Walking Street Bar where girls are pretty and you don't need to barfine suddendly revealed hostile territory!

I also tried to catch them on street before they go in but they didn't care and walked straight in. They look like they really want them ears bombed with that shit.

I end up several nights at Bamboo, where the music is live, easy-listening and not so noisy, but quality of girls is average very low.

Is there another venue like Bamboo with better looking girls or where do you suggest I can find a cutie to pick up for longtime at my hotel without either callling expensive escort or going to those hell-like dens?

Dude, have you tried some of the beer bars on Soi 6, 7, 8? Sure you can find one that fits your requirements with ample lights and not very loud music. Atmosphere there is also much more relaxed than on Walking Street.

Secrets is a good bar but I gather from talking to hostesses at Secrets that they have some interesting management practices. Some of these practices are industry-wide but Secrets seems to take things a bit further in some respects.

Like most bars, if a girl gets sick she must pay her own bar fine, in the case of Secrets this costs her 400 baht per day but at Secrets she must pay double (800 baht) on Friday, Saturdays and Sundays unless she attends until midnight, thus you can sometimes see sick-looking gilrs on weekend evenings sitting it out until 12 so they only have to pay 400. The fine takes a big chunk out of her monthly pay of 4500 baht.

She will also have her money cut if she fails to meet a monthly target of 60 drinks and 8 bar fines.

If a customer buys her drinks and then she declines to be barfined by him, she will be fined 100 baht per drink she was bought if the customer complains about her not agreeing to go with him.

Oh, and she will be fined 100 baht if she does not drink tequila bought by management, that's 100 baht per tequila. You can see the mamasans going round periodically telling the girls to go and drink, if they don't drink they get fined even if they are with a customer. This compulsory drinking policy of course helps to keep the bar buzzing but here's the twist. On quiet nights (roughly half of the nights) girls may be expected to drink 10 tequilas. The idea appears to be that the girls will get too drunk to work on nights when there are too few customers to warrant their presence and management can save money as then each girl can be fined 400 (or 800 if it is a weekend night). Few girls can stay upright after 10 tequials and they often collapse in the locker room. Some of the girls hold the tequila in their mouths and then spit it out in the toilet but they will be fined if spotted doing so. This practice is also carcinogenic as the strong spirit damages the mouth tissue. Coyote dancers are banned from using the toilet while dancing so they do not have this option.

By the way the girls when sick will often pay for an intramuscular antibiotic jab so that they can return to work quickly. This is expensive and not good health practice.

I try to avoid being rude or blunt in these situations as a general rule, so on 1 I usually say "maybe later". If she doesn't leave at that point she will after a little while when she figures out she isn't making any money from you. If she is seated then I sometimes just whisper in her ear that she is very pretty but tonight I want a different girl. Girls that are pushy for lady drinks usually are no fun to sit with and no good in bed, IMHO.

For 2 I would just say that it sounds exciting, but not tonight. Then hold firm on the "not tonight" line.

Re Mouse 1's question re noise levels at Penthouse Hotel. It's fair to say that people' don't come to the Penthouse or Pattaya in general for peace and quiet. The nightclub downstairs Kittens / Obsessions (Ladyboys) fires up around 8pm and quietens down around 2am. The rooms on the 2nd floor directly over the club are going to be booming during this time, but the rooms to the side or on 3, 4 and 5th floor are fine. Though geographically in the center of the action (which is generally a short walk in almost any direction, soi Pattayaland is not as busy as apparently it was before so the whole street is pretty quiet by 2. 30am.

Of course you are probably going to hear something of other customers coming back quite late but generally as its a relatively old well established hotel so the walls seem quite thick and fairly soundproof.

In general of course it's not a place that will suit everyone. Though I think you certainly get alot for your buck, alot of guys here are on a tight budget. Generally prioritized to booze and girls so will look for the cheapest place available which is never going to be afull service hotel. Similarly the hotel is a little eccentric and some guys are going to prefer a more standard place, but personally I am fed up with the standard hotels which I stay at on business so prefer something more memorable and more geared towards hedonistic sex, when in Pattaya.

Hi this is my first report,. I've been a lurker for some time and benefitted from some excellent advice. Now I've finally got to Thailand and have some action of my own to report. I guess this will be old hat to you experienced mongers, but thought I would give some details that may be useful for those planning an initial trip.

I could have got the bus for about 165B but as a newbie decided it would be better to get a cab. Asked for 1500B but following the advice of my pal on the plane got it down to 1000B. This guy had suggested that I check out the Penthouse Hotel in Soi Pattayaland. I had read something about this hotel before generally very positive but with some people bad-mouthing it. Anyhow I figured as I had the cab I'd check it out for myself and if I didn't like the vibe, I'd go elsewhere.

My buddy had told me it was a boutique hotel and I could find cheaper places in the back roads but having looked forward to my trip and for so long, I figured this was no time for penny-pinching. Actually the room rates were better than I expected as they have now come off the 'High Season' rates and there was an excellent selection of rooms at the 1000.2000 Bt range. One look at the rooms was enough to dispell my doubts and I paid off the taxi and was offered a complementary welcome drink and cool towel as I checked in.

The flunky took my bags to my room and showed me the various gadgets. After years of staying in identikit business class hotels this place was a serious novelty. The rooms are covered in textured stucco. The bed is firm with crisp white cotton sheets its higher than most beds which I figured would come in handy for bending a young cutie over and ravishing her from behind.

The room has a 42 inch LCD which I may try and hook my laptop up to later. The room has a bewildering array of mood-lighting options. I am new to Thailand but have been to the phils a few times. The cherry girls in the bars are generally young often more attractive girls who are there just to chat with customers and generate drink sales. Of course almost every cherry girl will one day lose her cherry, but typically this will either to be a local or foreign guy who pretends to love her and talks about an interest in marrying her. As the Koreans/Chinese guys will pay around $500 to do a genuine cherry girl, a bar cherry girl who decides its time to lose it will generally be marketed to these guys, not offered to some shmuck for 1500 pesos.
