I heard today that Walking St. Will close for may / June for electrical works. Laying wires under the ground I think, or similar.

WS is NOT closing, but they are going to be doing construction in the area, it a continuation of the road work on Beach Rd, iirc. The construction will take 2-3 months.

Am an Indian and ventured on my first solo trip to LOS. There is lot of negative publicity against Indians travelling in groups and behaving rude, So I decided to travel solo and visit all the places where usually we are not welcomed and make an attempt to break the stereotyping. "Reports on social media that a staff member at a bar located on Soi 6 in Pattaya had contracted the coronavirus are false, officials have said.

Rumors started circulating over the weekend that a beer bar staffer had been infected with the coronavirus and that she could potentially be a so called 'Super Spreader' having come into contact with hundreds of customers.

Health officials later contacted the woman and sent her for tests at Chulalongkorn Hospital, where it was confirmed she just had regular flu and not the coronavirus, which is now officially known as COVID-19.

I've been visiting Pattaya since 2010 and moved to the City two years ago. One could do worse.

Despite changes and price increases, it's still the best deal on the planet for women (actually for men who enjoy women). Being old. In my early days, I stayed right on Soi 6 at the Queen Victoria Inn. Cheap, decent food and nice staff. Soi 6 can wear on you. It did on me. And after a couple of years I relocated. Seems like the numbers of Ladyboys in that part of town have only increased and become more annoying. The girls. Not so much, but I rarely found much to my liking there. These days I visit Walking Street a couple times a week for indoor sightseeing and to refresh my memory of what female flesh feels like. Seems I'm always forgetting.

I always find Windmill and it's sister, Annabels across Soi Diamond, while a little weird, reliable for willing women / girls who expect and invite hands-on and many of whom skip any semblance of wardrobe. Those are all before their percentage from "lady drinks," which run from 50 to 80 baht in most places; or for "take out" should they get lucky.

Most venues are going through hard times with few tourists, fewer customers and now this virus thing. A waitress I know at Windmill got told recently the only work they could offer would be as a dancer. Not a happy conversion, but she (Mo) supports two kids.

Three things I've learned living in Pattaya: (1) there is someone for everyone when it comes to pairing up. Some of the combinations seen on the street are truly unbelievable; (2) I will never understand the ladyboy or gay male business, but the culture in this town (and in Thailand in general) embraces it save for the criminal element). There's a lesson to be learned from the level of acceptance and lastly, (3) there is no place else on the planet like it where to get by without losing your mind you just have to forget or suspend for the duration anything you ever learned about western morality.

Try Thaifriendly for online. Try Beach Road for cheap (1000 baht) and try Soi 6 for on the spot fun (1500 baht).
