I've been visiting Pattaya since 2010 and moved to the City two years ago. One could do worse.

Despite changes and price increases, it's still the best deal on the planet for women (actually for men who enjoy women). Being old. In my early days, I stayed right on Soi 6 at the Queen Victoria Inn. Cheap, decent food and nice staff. Soi 6 can wear on you. It did on me. And after a couple of years I relocated. Seems like the numbers of Ladyboys in that part of town have only increased and become more annoying. The girls. Not so much, but I rarely found much to my liking there. These days I visit Walking Street a couple times a week for indoor sightseeing and to refresh my memory of what female flesh feels like. Seems I'm always forgetting.

I always find Windmill and it's sister, Annabels across Soi Diamond, while a little weird, reliable for willing women / girls who expect and invite hands-on and many of whom skip any semblance of wardrobe. Living Dolls, a block over to the North is equally dependable. I've got friends in all three and it's fun. The girls in these places don't make all that much - 8 K Baht / month for a waitress, 14,000 per month for a dancer who opts to keep her interesting parts covered; 17.000 to skip panties and show tits and 20 K / month to ear nothing but a smile. Those are all before their percentage from "lady drinks," which run from 50 to 80 baht in most places; or for "take out" should they get lucky.

For the most beautiful women in the smallest space I've ever been, I like Pinups. It's packed. With beautiful girls. And with Asian customers, expensive. Most wear gauzy outfits (the women, not the customers), and after a few minutes bare their breasts in unison which is a sight to behold. Pinup girls at first appear "stuck-up" and clearly believe they're exceptional. Many are. But they're approachable if treated civilly or if you're dropping a lot of cash. Drinks for most of them are 200 Baht. I always say "no shots" as I hate to see my money go so quickly for so little. Saturday night I visited Pinups for a while and sat next to a nice looking, older Japanese gentleman who was clearly affected. Finally he got up, approached the stage and went from girl to girl, gently squeezing their tits and handing each of them a 1,000 Baht bill for the experience. He skipped a few who were clearly disappointed, but probably dropped thirty grand in the time I was there. Direct to his interests. I have no clue what his bar bill was.

I've not seen that before, it was clearly a sight to behold and any "stuck-upness" or pretense on the part of these beauties disappeared in a second. Funny as hell. I took a twenty baht note out of my pocket and waved it around, but it didn't raise much interest.

Most venues are going through hard times with few tourists, fewer customers and now this virus thing. A waitress I know at Windmill got told recently the only work they could offer would be as a dancer. Not a happy conversion, but she (Mo) supports two kids.

Three things I've learned living in Pattaya: (1) there is someone for everyone when it comes to pairing up. Some of the combinations seen on the street are truly unbelievable; (2) I will never understand the ladyboy or gay male business, but the culture in this town (and in Thailand in general) embraces it save for the criminal element). There's a lesson to be learned from the level of acceptance and lastly, (3) there is no place else on the planet like it where to get by without losing your mind you just have to forget or suspend for the duration anything you ever learned about western morality.

Enjoy it while it lasts, which ought to be a while.

Now that I got. Working phone I used it to track down a ATM to withdraw money. I have a Capital One checking account that doesn't charge international fees etc.

So off I go looking for trouble and found it by using sugarbook (https://sugarbook.com/). Skinny Vinnie who quoted me 5000 baht and of course I didn't negotiate down to 3000 baht like I should have. And when we get to the room she asks for payment up front. Now I should have negotiated all this beforehand but didn't. So I get what is coming to me in spades. I tried the "if you do a great job you get a great tip, not good then no tip. " So she proceeds to ask for another 5000 baht. Wait, that's not the way this is supposed to go!

After lunch and a rest I walked over to a unknown massage shop. The ladies at reception were nice and asked me to sit down and wait for the introductions. Kind of to my surprise the lady behind the desk got up and introduced herself first. She was seriously pretty and she was flirting with me as the second lady came in to introduce herself. Then I was asked to choose. Yeah only two. Well I picked the receptionist of course. And let me tell you I made the right choice. We started out dancing together. She slowly stripped off her clothes as we continued to dance together. Well the rest of the time was spent not totally GFE but with great enthusiasm. We pretty much finished when I gave her the big O. After that I was too tired to do more although she was willing.

Lesson learned: unless you have great negotiating skills (which I don't) I now think it's better for me to go to the Thailand. For some reason I have worse luck in Thailand.

Did you parachute into Pattaya? Most of that you should've taken care of at the airport when you first arrived.

I don't know what sugarbook is, but 5000 baht or even 3000 baht for someone online in Pattaya is crazy. For that much money you can go to any of the Walking Street clubs and pick out exactly what you want.

Try Thaifriendly for online. Try Beach Road for cheap (1000 baht) and try Soi 6 for on the spot fun (1500 baht).

If you're having the wors (t) luck in Thailand (Pattaya) you are doing something wrong.

Sometimes life sucks. I arrived in Pattaya for a relaxing holiday but three days later I found myself in the hospital with an acute appendicitis. Bad luck, but it's is treatable. Thailand has a good medical infrastructure and I had a good medical insurance, so no problems here. I survived and there were no permanent consequences.

However due to this incident I couldn't enjoy the available fruit as planned. I had to stay away from strenuous activities and avoid body contact. Keeping a fresh operation wound clean is a challenge in the tropics. In other words: a simple B2B massage or even too much sweating could put me to the risk of an infection.

So what could I do? The most important thing after any surgery is to stay active. So when they discharged me, I upgraded my hotel and spent the remaining time walking, talking and observing the streets so that I could still provide a humble contribution to this forum. No P4P for me this time unfortunately. But I forgot that I was in Thailand. Especially, I forgot I was in Pattaya.
