I just got back from Pattaya, I'm a black guy from the US, I was concerned about this idea as well before my trip. Once I got there I had no problem finding ladies in Pattaya willing to go with me from massage girls calling out "massage" as you pass their shops, to go-go bar girls and beach road ladies as well.

This might be useful. I have visited a few and I saw no reason to visit that side of town again. And even if you do find something that floats your boat, good luck in getting her to join you at your hotel, which in all likelihood, will be near beach road. Of course, there are plenty of ST options available in those parts, if that is what you fancy.

This list is really and I mean really old! I live on the Darkside, and as you noted not worth the time and money unless you live out here. I do and I rarely visit any of them and when I say rarely it must have been a few years ago like the list.

Taxi from the bus station on Pattaya Nua to Soi 13 should be 200 baht. There are also baht buses at the bus station that may be heading that way. I think it was 50 baht last time I hopped on one to my place on 3rd Rd Soi 18 (and I had my large scuba gear bag). Like LBM said, prepare to get wet.

Three out of the last 5 years, particular the last two 2014-15, The Junction of Sukhumvit and Pattaya Nua was a parking lot, Even with my motorbike going up the sidewalk etc. I was stuck! I'm can imagine what a car or bus is going to take and once you get off the bus on this particular time (19th at around 2-3 pm) not going to be easy catching a Baht bus for that price or even a bike unless you cough up a bit more? I don't think most BM's need to be lectured about their confidence, or level of attractiveness from someone they have never met and who was not there at the time. I have not had to pay with several very cute girls in Bangkok this winter and last. I get the feeling that you always pay.

How many girls have you known to say they find themselves really attractive? Usually women harp on about the faults they find in themselves. So maybe it is you putting them up on a pedestal and not themselves thinking they look good enough to get x amount of money.

And I have seen plenty of women in gogos that I did not find attractive yet they all garner the same 3000 baht or whatever. And even in the soapies where the girls with the expensive price tags do not look better than the ones with the cheaper price tags.

You have to remember that there are no set prices in a freelance market unless the women are colluding. So 3 of us could go up to the same woman and get 3 different prices. Women have told me that they will jack the price up on a guy who they do not find attractive. And remember, if you are not embarrassed by your offer, then you are offering too much.

Thanks, Uncle V. Yes, in this particular instance I felt a bit guilty about paying 2500 baht for the girl in Ibar. However, many times, you read reports about how cheap the girls are in certain destinations or venues but then when you get there, it seems that is already old news.

But when fellow posters read about 1000 baht prices, or less, they need to keep in mind the attractiveness of the girl.

Bell has indicated that they will not offer hotel transportation on that day, so I will need to get a taxi I presume, as I will have a large bag. Anyone know what the approximate taxi fare should be to Soi 13?

I will be making my 3rd visit to Pattaya next week. Thinking that Songkram was from April 13-15, I figured I would totally miss it, but now I see that in Pattaya it runs until at least the 19th (next Tuesday). I will arrive BKK at about 11:30 AM next Tuesday, then will take the Bell bus to Pattaya, probably arriving at around 3:30 PM. Bell has indicated that they will not offer hotel transportation on that day, so I will need to get a taxi I presume, as I will have a large bag. Anyone know what the approximate taxi fare should be to Soi 13? I understand Beach Road will be closed.

I presume there will be relatively little traffic heading in to Pattaya on the 19th, as Bell was showing around 30 open seats. And my hotel has been showing a cheap rate, which makes it appear that Pattaya will be in the low season even if Songkran won't yet be officially over. I would not mind a day of Songkran as I have never experienced it before, but I think one day would be plenty!

I will be in Pattaya a week, then will return to BKK for a week to see my "GF" again (a real life, super sweet, old fashioned Thai girl, still a virgin I met online a few year back), after which I will go, alone, to Phuket for 4 days, then either back to Pattaya for a few more days or possibly back to BKK to see the GF (if I manage to break through that kevlar hymen this time).

Based on your time frame, the time you indicate by the time you or Bell Bus get to the Bus station area the streets will be wall to wall cars and people. Even if you get to the Station I hope you can roll your big piece of luggage easily because you will need to most likely roll in all the way to the Hotel while getting soaked. You be better off getting in around 8 pm or cancel altogether and come the next day!

What you see is what you will get. Negotiate directly with the lady (but watch out. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is).

Well sorry you feel that way. I'm black and live there part time. I have black friends that live there full time. None of us have ever had a problem like you claim. Maybe the Mama's at the clubs and bars you went to thought you like fat girls.
