    Soi 6 was hopping

Girls must be coming into town now, looking for the new wave of tourists that will (or won't) come. Lineups were looking good although not so good early in the afternoon. So anyone who knows me knows I have 'issues' with buying lady drinks and then being told 'no' in whichever way they want to save face. Most common is I am on my period, best answer to that is 'I don't care, we can fuck in the shower'. Hey I understand, I'm a big guy and these girls have a choice to go with who they want. But when your turned down over and over its best to save your money and ask them directly if they will fuck or not. No? Ok move on, next girl up. No I won't buy you a drink now. Happens so often I just ignore it anymore.

So I'm in a soi 6 bar just drinking, not looking for fun because several have already turned me down. So I figure a change of scenery so walk into another bar and the manager comes over and says Hello,. Mind you I wasn't looking for sex, just a night of drinking and maybe a freelancer to end the night. He then says 'do you want a lady?' and points to one and she comes over, he says 'she just go to Pattaya'. She's cute, has that 'new blood' feel to her. Nice body, fresh face. So I ask 'you want to go upstairs and boom boom?' just to gauge her response was a weak 'yes' but then said 'drink'. That was good enough for me. Really wasn't looking looking still but she wasn't a drink guzzler and she was dancing face to face and was fun to be with so head upstairs. Had a fantastic romp, went for a good 40 minutes with multiple positions. Finished up and offered her a drink on the way out. Now here's where it gets interesting, seems there's been a Korean guy visiting her for 5 days straight and spending a boatload of money on her. His bill at the end of the night being over 15 k baht. Well he's sitting there when we get finished and when she sits with me he pays his bill and leaves. Some Koreans can't stand knowing a Thai girl had sex with a white foreigner, wonder if he'll be back to the bar and spend more money on her.

Then it gets even stranger, the manager comes over and explains all of this. Customer leaving, she not being happy that she lost all of that money. Then says 'you buy her another drink'. Which I had planned anyway since she was so good. So in Thai he tells her to get herself a drink. And she then comes back with a tray with 5 shots. I tell the manager "I buy her another drink, not 5 more". So he goes and fixes the bill. No wonder the guys bill was 15 k if he's having the girls come over with 5 shots of fake booze.

    Well.

Why FFS are you commenting about Phuket action in the Pattaya forum?

Shift your ass into the Phuket forum, take a look, and ask there.

Life on the slower side of town

Well it was a first for me I must say, seeing the wild life in that big city we all know as Jomtien. I assumed it would be a tad slower but wasn't expecting it to be 'that' slow. Went on a 'date' with a freelancer who said she didn't want to me to be a customer. But in the end you must pay. Did the dinner, drinks and whatnot and got to experience what a farang retirement community really is like. It was a nice change of pace, pool games that last a half hour because they can't see the ball they are hitting, the 40 year old girls working the bar who might have been doing so for 20 odd years. You'd sit on the railing of a bar and see a hot girl coming towards you. Give her a 9 rating. Couple seconds later that drops to a 7. Closer she comes, now its a 4. Maybe its also the bargirl retirement community as well. I realized that was why the freelancer was trying to get me as a boyfriend. Setting herself up for retirement. I will admit that the beach in Jomtien is ten times cleaner than on beach road in Pattaya. My guess would also be less crime as well overall. I do like staying out here, lets me take 'days off' since I'm here for a good long time now without being tempted to step outside and go drinking.

Well most youtubers make their content by doing those walk along, they normally don't stop at a bar and then film. The signs are all up in front of the bars requiring covid tests but the ones that do ask are accepting the take at home tests that have no date written on an official declaration card that's filled out by a health worker. All bars have those temp scanners of some kind to see if you have a high temp, some bars ask for a negative test and have accepted an undated one I keep in my pocket. Have to be careful with this test because the 'biohazard' emblem on the packaging is almost all worn off. Some places do offer to have a test done for you by their staff and won't call the hotline if you test positive. Personally I don't think I'd ever take a test by a gov't health care worker for a few beers in one particular area because there are thousands of bars out there who won't ask.

I do wonder who 'enforces' this rule? Is it the police? Do they show up to the bar and ask everyone to present an official valid test? Some bars need to make X amount of money every day to pay all of their expenses which might include bribes. If the police come to their bar and scare away all of their customers the bar won't make the money to pay the bribes. So the police stay away. The rules are a joke is what it comes down too, the governor makes these new rules which affects everyone's income. There are some foreigners who just don't see the downside of doing one of these public tests, I met one guy here who just doesn't care and will keep taking them. But he was also forced to pay a 3500 baht bribe when driving drunk on his scooter without a helmet.

    Airfare

Just wait till each tsunami of inflation that typically comes in between 12-24 months after the printing. Just starting. Enjoy the low fares while they last LOL.

Still trying to decide if Thailand is worth the bother, won't be the place I remember, but if I didn't have such a hard on for it, ID just go to Mexico. No hassles currently, other than test 24 hrs before return to USA.

For vaxed and otherwise healthy individuals an Omicron infection is flu-like and does not kill and does not require hospitalization. The risk in travelling to Brazil is the slight possibility of catching a crossover Omicron infection and feeling bad for a few days. Nobody want to feel sick while on a trip, but it happens even in pre-covid days. For example, I remember sitting behind a Chinese National who was coughing his brains out on a flight from HKG to BKK. Sure enough I came down with "Bronchitis" 2 days later in Pattaya and lost all desire to shag for 6 days! It was a bummer. I felt miserable, but then I recovered and spent the next 6 weeks having a great time.

The current risk in travelling to LOS IS mandatory testing, possibly testing positive for the Omicron, and subsequently being forced by Thai authorities to quarantine in a Covid ward or special Covid hotel for a prescribed length of time against your will. That is unacceptable to me.

BTW, one of my favorite girls, Mini, felt sick upon returning to BKK after her New Year's eve visit back home, and so she voluntarily got herself tested. BIG mistake! She tested positive and was immediately placed in a Covid hospital ward for 14 days. She had previously been vaxed twice. She told me that she felt bad for 3 days and then she fully recovered. She feels fine now, but she is still in the ward! The hospital will not let her go home until her 14 days are up this Monday.
I am over-vaxxed, but I don't want to push my luck. So, I left Pattaya when the bars were filled with Omicron (they still are), and will leave Brazil if Omicron gets out of hand. I have about 2 weeks to make a decision.

I may even go back to Thailand if that is the safest place.

    Credit cards

I have three credit cards, two with United miles and one card affiliated with Southwest Airlines. All the cards initially came with miles, which I have used thru the years mainly for emergency purposes or when the cost for a flight is outrageous when compared to using miles. In April of 2020, my United card was especially handy because I booked a one way flight back to the US from Bangkok for a low mileage charge. At the time, flights were being cancelled everywhere due to Covid and the airfare price shot up dramatically. Of course, your miles are also credited based on your credit card purchases but it's also important to consider the yearly fee you are being charged. It can add up if you have a lot of cards, plus your credit rating gets dinged every time you apply for another card.

As a result, I use my cards judiciously and on occasion cancel a card in order to get a card with a better mileage deal. Sometimes, they require you spend X amount within a one or two month period so if you have some big purchases or expenses coming up, keep that in mind when you apply for a new card.

I then had to show her how to use Bolt to get a 60 baht motorbike back to her place. Unfortunately she didn't know exactly where she lived, finally got her friend to send her location on LINE chat and I got her close to where she lived. I was then going to hit some of the bars like camel toe on the way to soi 6 but having to take those antigen tests just to get in for a beer made me just head to 6 again. Its still a fraction of what it used to be but there are some gems here and there. The problem with Pattaya is that its such a large sprawling town and its impossible to navigate it at times. I'm on those Pattaya line chat bar groups and they post tons of photos of the girls, they are out there but the issue is showing up just to hear the girl say "I have period" and then right after 'you buy me drink? You end up spending what you'd pay a girl for ST in drinks just to find out she's not wanting to open her legs.

I flew here from the states using a free airmile ticket. Two years ago when covid hit I saw the writing on the wall and signed up for the airmile credit cards just so I could book this getaway without having to fork over a ton of cash. I talked to some posters here via PM and was told they just used the cash back cards that gave them pennies on the dollar back whereas I got a $700 one was flight for free. Wonder if any of the guys complaining about prices live in the states? If so why didn't you sign up for these types of cards?

    Waiting for Pattaya to reopen

Since the last 8 years (until2019) I've been frequently visiting Thailand, specially Pattaya and Phuket. I fondly remember my first trip with my school friends where we visited the fish bowls and it was a dream from the bath to the massage and then the unforgettable banging.

I really enjoyed the casual pickup from clubs, there was a time when the girl I picked up was really horny and I didn't pay her (except for her taxi).

I wonder how things will be in a few months. Had it not been for omicron, I would be in Pattaya this month end!

But it was her own fault for getting tested. This sums up the risk in travelling to Thailand under the current measures in place. It is unacceptable!

Brazil reported a record 137,103 cases of the coronavirus in 24 hours as Omicron spread in Latin America's largest country, the Health Ministry said on Tuesday, as new infections soared above the previous daily record of 115,228 in June last year.

But no quarantine, no testing on arrival, all the bordellos are open, and the Brazilian girls are fucking fantastic. It is my kind of place! And I am looking forward to my 3rd visit to Brazil in 12 months.

Meanwhile the path forward is clear as indicated by the headline yesterday which read, "Great Britain to Drop COVID-19 Restrictions. Soon other countries will follow the lead and drop their draconian Covid measures as well and sooner or later, probably later, 555, even Thailand will do likewise. Meanwhile I am not stepping one foot inside LOS until the government drops their travel quarantine, their testing upon arrival procedures, and ALL the bars & Go Go's are allowed to open and stay open as late as they want.

If anything good came out of Covid it was that my 25 year Thai addiction was finally broken. I dig Brazilian girls!

200,000 today in Brazil. I am isolated in a beachfront condo, at least for another 4 days. After that, I go back to Rio, but can isolate for a week. Then it's decision time, stay or leave Brazil.

I was thinking of going to Mexico, but numbers are spiking there, too.

I will have a better handle on the pandemic in a week.

It's still possible to use award miles and lately a one way with United will cost you between 44 to 48 k miles from US west coast to BKK or even va Frankfurt with the last leg covered by Thai Airways. This mileage change assessment came about after Test and Go was suspended so I suspect it will revert back to a higher cost in mileage in short order.
