I am thinking of renting a bike in Pattaya for a couple of days. Normally I wouldn't need too, but I want to check out some bars on the Dark Side and I am thinking my own transport is the best way to do it.

If you do rent a bike then you have to assume that they will cut in front of you go accross 2 lanes to turn right in front of you, fill the half space with a whole bike in front of you and stop immediately for no seemingly good reason after doing all of the above. And I'm talking about the expats not the thai people. Thais are worse. But I've never let that stop me from renting a bike in Thailand every year for over 25 years. If you do get into a fender bender and it's not your fault, don't under any circumstances, let them move either vehicle. I've had two accidents both a thai persons fault and the first time I let the bike taxi move his bike out of the way for traffic purposes and he made it look like it was my fault. I ended up paying for both our bikes and my hospital. The second accident I had to jerk the keys out of the ignition so she couldn't move the van and the police saw that it was her fault so she paid everything.

The freedom of a bike and the fun factor are both good reasons to rent a bike. I rent from a british man across from the rome hotel on thappraya road on the way to jomtien. His prices are good and he carries the bigger bikes. One of them for sure has a truck air horn that comes in handy. I usually pay 150 / day.

Anyway have fun and drive fast and furiously. LAT

i hire a scooter (not motorbike) every time i go to pattaya and have had no traffics accident problems in all my visits. there is always a first time i guess though. i have had a few 'interesting' incidents (road rage, etc) , and i have had to pay a few fines to the cops. usually no licence. my fault.

why do i do it? the sheer freedom of being able to hop on a bike, be at a bar or beach road within minutes, and be in a position to whisk a girl off to my room from wherever instantly. oh, and tremendous fun.

i hate to under-spend mr o****, but i have never paid more than 150 baht per day for a bike.

hope you have travelers insurance and notify the embassy about your next of kin information.

I am a regular visitor to Soi 6, and have been used to paying the standard 700 + 300 baht charge. On my last visit I noticed more girls were asking 1000 + 300, and I have heard it suggested that this is now the going rate? Any comments?

And what does that make the going rate for LT? Previously I was paying 1500. 1800 + bar fine, and didn't have any complaints. I am reluctant to up this as 2500 baht total starts to seem relatively expensive for a Soi 6 girl.

surely, you jest mr. opebo? why is the vast majority of hotels in pattaya guest-friendly? riding a motorbike in pattaya is for the more suicidally-inclined and for 200 baht you can use a songthaew twenty times. or perhaps you like to subsidize the policemen's retirement fund?

The first time visitors goes to Kenya or Ghana. For kenya specifically Mombasa. You can stay on north coast beach or The village of Mtwapa. (Mtwapa is part of Mombasa district and is simpler to sosua)

After Kenya you may try Madagascar which outperform Kenya for the food, the girls altitude, and sightseeing. Again for non stop fucking go to mombasa. No short time concept so for 20 dollar you can take her for 24h or more.

Assuming you have been locked in prison for 10 years and just went out I may suggest Mombasa as first stop and then Thailand.

Prostitution is over long ago in Thailand as economy developed. Now mostly old ladies ans this about it. Other way is to find a girlfriend. Still from overall tourist experience Thailand is the most safest and the most pleasing destination in the world.

Forget Susua go to Africa it the origin, good only for sex Marathon, otherwise Thailand wins (hotels, food, sightseeing etc).

I have another club for you to try. A very reputable source, ex-patt, tells me a club named "Club 4" is even better than Carre Blanc. Google says this club has been around for some years but has been closed for various reasons.

The owner is also french and possibly the same owner of the Care Blanc club.

The setup. Very nice curtained off reclining booths with full mirrors. Have a shorttime room too. Someone posted in Sept that the place beats the hell out of Carre Blanc, Bliss, and Telephone booth hands down (more classy looking). The girls wear school-girl uniforms without anything on underneath.

The idea of being able to nip out onto Beach Road shopping for talent at my whim is very appealing, being the greedy guts, then take them back to my room where I am comfortable having never had any strife in the six or so years of touring Thailand or any troubles from the girls. I do not carry valuables apart from the laptop and travel light. Maybe I have been lucky or suss the girls out pretty well; if I were in Africa then obviously apply more diligence, I have had amusing escapades with the the big girls of Africa.

The thought of having to take care of a moto is not appealing to me at all, I ride in London and recently the lovely neighbors darling terrorists pushed my great love over damaging her, causing me great anger and the stress of having to take care of a moto parked out on the street is no fun. Beautiful people about. A friend recently had his bicycle stolen in Pattaya, I would rather not ride a moto in Thailand, have done in the past, but the reasons have been covered by other members, Opebo.

Last time I shopped the Beach was at the end of 2012. I found 19 and 20 year olds all 4 times I tried over a two month period, but I had to put a ton of leg work in. The last time it took more than 45 minutes of walking around. .

This has been my motis for years. Get in a work out while looking for a stunner, or at least, has my physical taste. Beach Road. 2nd Road. WS. I actually have shifted my stalking grounds to Africa.

I like big T-TS and wide hips. Its there in abundance. I don't have to walk to find it, just go online. No BF, runners, starfish or over worn p*ssy. And best of all not a million tourist or expats to dodge and duck.

Enjoy all that in LOS gents, I'll be over here relaxing and shagging.

Why would hotel location matter? One should never bring a girl back to one's own sleeping room (use short time rooms), and one should always rent a motorbike when in Pattaya (only 100-200 baht per day, an incredible value).
