Day 2, Tuesday.

My first morning back in Pattaya.

Other than traveling in the middle of the night when there is much less traffic on the expressway and in the city, that is one of the fastest Pattaya/Walking Street-to-Bangkok/Nana area trips I have ever taken so I will probably do it that way again. Maybe do it that way in reverse on the Bangkok/Nana area-to-Pattaya/Walking Street trip as well. Total train costs were about 65-70 baht I think; 40 baht for the Airport Rail (from Lat Krabang station) and 25-30 baht for the bts portion.

Anybody else try it that way or know of an even faster ground transportation route? For me, the downside to taking a taxi all the way from the Pattaya to my apartment near Nana bts and vice versa is the high probability of spending almost an extra hour in city traffic on the Bangkok side. But this method cuts all of that out since you are on an elevated train to and from the Lat Krabang Airport Rail Link station. The taxi takes you right to the steps for that station, easy access to it from the expressway. There seemed to be plenty of taxis at that station for the ride from there into Pattaya as well. And as long as you only have a small bag or wheeled carry-on, those train transfers are a snap.

My trip usually to Bangkok / Nana.

Reverse usually is a bit longer since from Ekaimai bus station there is only 1 stop to another station prior to getting on the highway to Pattaya, Traffic is heavy on Sukhumvit if you travel on weekdays, I've done it on Sundays and it is much better.
