When you say Thailand I assume you mean pattaya because that's a big statement to compare pp to good Bangkok restaurants. Do you remember the names of some of these restaurants? I only know a handful of decent places near the rld. Many times I end up going to the street 360 area to eat. .

I said Thailand because I meant Thailand. Phnom Penh has equally good restaurants at all price levels, though on the cheap end if you're eating street food like Som Tam, then Thailand is usually less expensive. Have you been to LE Saint Georges? Do Forni? Khema Pasteur? Piccola Italia the Luigi? As good as anything in Bangkok.

You can't really stereotype like this. The average income in the US is much higher than in Japan or Korea. The average annual household income in South Korea is only $16,000! Japan is 39,000. In the US it's over 60,000. Also more married guys in Japan and Korea than the US. So it just depends who exactly you are talking about. Even if the US you could go fro Trenton New Jersey to the Upper East Side of Manhattan and feel like you crossed an international border.

So now I can not understand what was that. Such a big fail in the beginning and decision of never coming back, then couple of nice experiences and I left with pleasant after taste. Like a roller coaster. Not sure but looks like I will want to return to Thailand for P4 P. But not sure if possible to avoid all mistakes I made and avoid bad feelings. Probably my problem is that I come rarely and just for couple of days so I do not have enough time to learn proper way of doing things. And I regret I did not have time to swim through Soi 6. I think it could be better than go-gos of WS.

Wait what? Almost a week in Pattaya and no Soi 6. Shame on you! At least it's something for you to look forward to. Imo top Soi 6 girls blow away Windmill girls but we all have different taste in women.

Glad things turned around for you in Pattaya. One of my friends had the same thing happen to him in Jakarta. On night 2 he was ready to leave back for Thailand. By the end of the trip he didn't want to leave Jakarta!

My thoughts exactly. If you are not ready for bed but you like the girl get her out ASAP but go to a disco and not another bar where her "sister" may work. It's all about who controls the situation and you staying in there environment gives them control.

Except the Mamasan may object to letting the girl leave the bar too early. Those girls need to fill their drink quotas. I have seen all sorts of schemes used by mamasans to keep a girl in the bar longer, hence selling more drinks. I found it much easier to get the girl out sooner, after 11 pm. Hence I may hit the gogos earlier, but refrain from selecting a girl until later.

From your reports it seems that you don't really switch up chicks when you go into the gogo bars. You pick one chick and keep drinking with her. So why not, as soon as you figure out the chick that you want, barfine her immediately then go out for a change of scenery. No sense in keep spending money on lady drinks when you already know who you want. That way you don't buy 10 drinks then the girl runs off on you. You can even buy a bottle when you get to the disco. Just a thought.

I find the attitudes of some of the Agogo girls indifferent and like you, I know they are hookers and why do I need to pander to their needs. I have found some gems in the Agogos but I have worked out a system to rid myself of the scammers. It works for me and I save money and time.

I have visited Pattaya for six days recently. Have not been there for 2 years and it was a quick trip among other places I travelled between Europe and South East Asia during my vacation. Was doing quite poorly first days and started to wonder what I did come here for and whether I ever return. But last days were pretty ok so I left with mixed feelings. Certainly I lack some experience and did mistakes but on the other hand it was also a matter of purely luck and coincidence. Sorry, I do not remember names or numbers of most of the girls because initially I did not have an intention to write any kind of report. Sorry for crooked English, it is not my mother tongue and I write large texts rarely.

01 Sep: went to Walking street and walked around for 40-50 minutes enjoying the vibe. I had good memories from the past and nostalgic feelings and it was just pleasant to look at crowd, girls at the entrances of go-gos, the old handicapped guy selling flowers (can't imagine for how long he is there; saw him 5 or 6 years ago when I arrived Pattaya for the first time and he has not changed at all), tourist police officers etc etc. I felt warm and relaxed. Then decided that I was ready for some action and approached Palace. Fail number 1: security man said it was packed full and suggested that it would be better to come after one hour. Ok, no worries. Tried Windmill. Entered, fully packed inside. Asked staff what is going on second floor. She said same. Really too many people so I left. Then I entered What's Up. Pretty much people as well but was proposed a round seat close to central stage. Random girl sat by which said "Hallo" and usual quick chat occurred. I was in good mood so offered her a drink just for fun, I was not interested in her sexually. She thanked, sat a little more, then her turn to dance came and she went to stage on the right. Meantime I have spotted an attractive girl for my taste on the central stage and asked staff to invite her for a drink. Soon she came, we talked, sat and drank together. One of the better tables with sofa became free (customers left) and she proposed to move there where it is more comfortable to sit. I liked to sit with her and keep looking other girls on stage because many of them were attractive. Not in rush. My girl kept consuming drinks, from time to time she came dancing to the stage and then returned. First girl walked around, made exaggeratedly sad face and said "Seeing you have busy time". I say nothing, smile. It got quite late already and I thought I would pay barfine and take second girl for a short time. However, before I took any action she said "Sorry, I greet my customer and come back, ok?" Then she crossed the bar and came to table of big and slightly fat Asian guy, talked to him, he offered drinks to her as well. Fail number 2: after 15 minutes she did not come back and I felt things were going in wrong way. Another girl (also good looking for me) was just descending from stage to the floor and I tried to catch her as a substitute but she did not accept my invitation explaining she was heading for another table where she was occupied with a customer earlier (it was behind me so I did not notice in advance). So fail number 3. Well, at least she sticks to the guys who invited her earlier, unlike my second girl. At this stage I started to feel quite irritated, I really have no intention to compete for hookers, so if things do not go my way, it is better to leave. I paid to the staff and stood up. My second girl saw I was leaving and quickly came back asking where I go. I lost my mood so said I go another place and went to the exit. She followed me till the street but anyway did not make any attempt to stop me. It was like 1:30 AM and I had flight to Singapore in the afternoon so I decided to come back to hotel, sleep and take some rest before travel.

02-03 Sep: I was in Singapore for business matters. Visited Geylang once. Not bad. Will post in relevant thread later.

04 Sep: back to Pattaya, Walking street. Tried Windmill and left, extremely crowded like three days ago. Went to Sensations. Girls were cute and I liked their outfit. Understand most of the guys prefer naked dancers. But I really like sexy dresses, lingerie etc. One girl which was not on stage approached and we talked. She was not bad so bought her a drink. Again was not in rush, relaxing and looking around. Soon she started to push me to pay her barfine. I explained that I would maybe do it later, now I just wanted to sit and drink. She tried again several times but I declined. She surrendered and turned it other way: invited her "sister" or "friend" (whatever, who gives a f**k?) to drink with us and I agreed. But could not resist, she was looking much like the girl I loved many years ago (as much as Asian girl can generally look like European girl, of course, you need certain imagination). I invited her for drinks as well but she kept quite distant unlike two other girls, sat in front of my table but not on my left or on my right on sofa. Girls suggested me to pay barfine for all three of them and go to the disco, I smiled and declined. Two first girls left to dance on stage and I asked Jum if I can pay her barfine. She said yes but she could only go to disco, nothing else. I chuckled. She asked, "Why do you look at me like that, is it funny?" I asked, "Do people pay your barfine just to take you to the disco?" She replied, "Yes, do you think it is funny?" I confirmed that it was funny in my opinion. Certainly there was no chemistry and discussion withered. The first girl returned and again suggested to pay her barfine, 1000 Baht. I asked how much she wanted for short time. She quoted 4000 Baht. I decided to bargain, said, "What about 3000?" But she declined. At this stage I become irritated again. 1000 Baht is no big deal for me but my total bill at Sensations was around 6 or 7 thousand Baht and part of that will come to the girl as lady drinks. Also she was pushing me that much the whole evening for barfine. Also that stupid story from Jum for paying barfine to take her to the disco. As the girl was adamant about 4000 and it was around 2:00 AM again I thought, WTF, stay here and look for a customer who pays at these wee hours your barfine and 4000 Baht. So I paid my bill and went to hotel to sleep. Fail number 4.

05 Sep: tried Sugarbaby. Not much customers, no cute girls. Three girls sat bored. Bought them drinks just for fun. Usual stupid chat. Then they went to dance and another two came spotting me as easy target and also asked drinks. But I already saw there was nothing to catch, politely declined, paid bill and left. Entered Lighthouse. Small place, but they have drinks menu at each table which is convenient. Invited a girl from stage. Drinking, talking. She kissed me aggressively, sometimes biting my lip or tongue. Not that I did not like that but not very much used to such kind of things. Asked how did she learn about Pattaya and she said that her older sister started to work here earlier. And soon sister (maybe it's bullshit, of course) came for drinks as well. I did not object, was listening their stories that their father was Australian, mother also a go-go dancer in the past, now father disappeared and mother with daughters work in Pattaya. Frankly girls did not look like 50% (or even 10%) white for me. Soon first girl told me that if we would keep sitting here my bill would just increase and instead it is better to pay barfine for two of them and we go to the disco. LOL, seems I was following same wrong path. It was well after midnight and I was not in mood for any discos. I asked how much she wanted for short time. She quoted 3000. No objections and she went to change clothes. Her "sister" pushed me again to pay her barfine as well. She said that if I would not, the girl I chose would come back after short time with me and pay that barfine for her sister herself from money earned so that they could leave together. Not sure why should I care? I declined. Then we left with first girl. She proposed to use short time room on Walking street. I preferred to move to my hotel. She agreed but asked to go first to see her mom. WTF? It started to become funny. I agreed just to see what would come out of this. We went to Rolling Live 6 where her mother worked as bartender. Strange situation. I am sex tourist on short stay in Pattaya, her mother is ex-hooker, her daughter is actual hooker and everybody knows I am going to fuck her. But anyway, we sat and drank together for some time. And I spotted very nice girl, Mimi was her nickname, at this bar and regretted a bit that I was already committed. Decided to come for her later. Then we left with Lighthouse girl to my hotel. At this stage I realize that she had too many tequilas and got really drunk. I asked if she was ok and she kept insisting that she was. In my room she undressed, fell on the bed (neither of us showered), sucked my dick for 30 seconds and demanded to fuck her. I did not waste any time and mounted her. She was quite aggressive in sex (like it was in kissing), scratched me, moved sharply under me etc. But after the deed had been done and I went to shower, finally all her tequilas broke out. I was offered to play some board games and spent some time but it was rather boring (OK, I am not good with women but my IQ is around 125 and I am simply not interested in things that may be entertaining for Thai bar girls) so after some time I returned to sleep in my hotel. Not a fail but still ambiguous experience.

06 Sep: finally explored Windmill, floor 1 and floor 2. No cute girls. Left. Walked past Mandarin and Panda. Girls at the entrance are clearly not interested in white customers. They chase aggressively Asian guys, touching and ripping them out of the crowd even though they resist and keep walking by. But no attention to Caucasian males at all. Entered Palace. Girls were pretty and I liked the music. Music was shit to my taste in all go-gos I visited except Palace. Many tracks sounded like synth wave or synth pop, not the music I am big fan of but at least can listen to. Most of the customers are Asian, almost no European guys. I invited a cute small red-haired girl. She introduced herself as Yuki (in bill it was typed Yok though). She was speaking English surprisingly good and also travelled a lot: Hong Kong, Japan and some other countries which I do not remember now. I had been there as well so we could have normal discussion on various topics exceeding usual "what is you age / country / family status / duration of stay in Pattaya" chat. Now I do not see anything too much dramatic in what happened but at that time I was really upset that I was doing something wrong. It was well after midnight, I tried couple of other places. Sapphire looked quite empty already but still all the tables with sofas were occupied. I sat at round seat at the stage and one girl was not bad. Invited her to come for a drink after dancers on stage change and she nodded but then a table on the other side became free where I moved and lost sight of her (and probably she of me) so when girls from stage left and next ones took their place, I did not see her anymore and was not in mood to make any special searches. Paid bill, exited. Entered Skyfall, again it was quite late already so not many girls. Two approached me very aggressively, sitting close to me, rubbing their asses against my knees but neither was to my liking (and others as well) so I left quickly without finishing my drink. Tried Sensations again. Spotted an "ok" looking girl, invited for a drink. Her nickname was Toy. After one she asks to buy a drink for her friend. Ok, I agreed. Then they both asked for one more. I decline with a smile. They thanked me and off they were back to the stage. Clearly not interested at all unless I keep my bill increasing quickly. I was paying and leaving, meantime seeing with lateral vision that first girl is coming back from stage to some Korean guy. Ok, clearly not my day. It was around 3:00 AM so I gave it a try to pick up Mimi at Rolling Live 6. I was greeted by staff who said me that Lighthouse girl's mother (remind you, she was a bartender there) was angry that after her daughter I came to drink with another girl. Well, probably it was not so brilliant idea but WTF? They are all hookers. And it was not my idea to become acquainted with Mrs. Bartender but her daughter's. Anyway, Mimi is not there tonight, she went to the Pier disco with her "friend". Fail number 6. I was tired and really wondered what the hell I was doing in Pattaya. Decided to forget this place and better explore Germany's FKKs during my next vacation. Returned to hotel, sleep.

07 Sep: my last night in Pattaya. Fed up with previous fails but last night is last night, why not to give it a chance. Went straight to Iron. There are two stages, I sat at first close to the one in the deep, far from entrance. Did not like any one but spotted nice girl at another stage (closer to entrance). Moved here. Awkwardly dropped glass with vodka and ice on my jeans so got quite wet. Staff helped with napkins so dried a bit. Invited the girl I spotted earlier. And I did not regret, she was really hot. We spent around 3 hours drinking, smoking, kissing, dancing and jumping all over the place, both Mamasans joined us and one even asked for my Line ID to get in touch when I am in Pattaya next time. To be frank sex was so-so, nothing to write home about but I spent good time in Iron and after all got what I wanted without much complications like in previous days. I spent all cash so we went together to ATM where I took money for her short time fee. She told me I was a good guy and asked when I would come back to Pattaya. Then we went each own way.

08 Sep: I had a flight from Suvarnabhumi in the afternoon. Still something to do. Did not try soapie yet so went to Rasputin around 02:00 PM. Not many girls at this time. Chose one, was quoted 2500. Ok, deal. OKT asked 100 Baht tip, I said next time. In the room, usual routine. Girl was pretty but very petite, her leg almost same as my hand in thickness and I am not a big guy. The thing I always wondered about is the bar girls on soi 6. There is no way all of them are getting customers. There are hundreds of them and cannot be enough customers.

I was at a bar in Phuket yesterday and counted 8 women and 3 customers. All 3 of us left alone. Those girls must go weeks or longer before getting barfined. And not to be cruel, but why would anyone bar fine a few, I don't know. Do some girls just not make money?

Luckily for some of these girls some guys are in desperate need of a good Optometrist. You'd be surprised how many guys take the ugly girls. Maybe it's the theory of the uglier and older a girl is the better service she will provide? Maybe it's because the guy is older or has low self esteem or is just incapable of obtaining the hot girls? Could be many factors and I've seen them all while living here.

However, I bluntly refused and told the mamasan that I will pay the girl, after she did her job. Most mamasans accepted then. Sometimes only after a short discussion, though. I always made it clear that if they insist on upfront payment, I will go to another place. However beautiful the girl was. It is far worse in Phnom Penh, I feel. I was there only briefly but was certainly not impressed by food selections. Numerous carts selling food. Every one of them selling exactly the same shitty "food" as the one next to them. Hard to find anything "edible". Variation extremely low. At least in Thailand, different carts sell different things (in the good areas).

Actually there are over 100 types of food sold on the streets of Cambodia including most of what's sold in Thailand. None of it is set up or catered to foreigners though, so if you don't know what you're looking for or how to look you won't find what you like probably. I personally prefer eating in a restaurant than in the middle of a street. Restaurants in Phnom Penh are as good or better than any in Thailand, especially French, steak houses and Italian.
