    Coming to pattaya

Greetings to all the forum members, particularly the senior and more active forum members, who as always have been most insightful with their various posts.

Anyway, am all booked up for a week 1st week of December and have RTFF and continuing to do so.

Also am on TF and Tinder.

I have been to Pattaya before, but am still very much a newbie with limited Pattaya experience and will be travelling on my own for this trip.

Was just wondering if any of the forum members were around during this period and were happy to meet for a few drinks or a wonder, particularly those that are more experienced in Pattaya.

Me, British, early 40's and easy going.

Have PM in case you prefer to message there rather than cluttering the forum.

    Jack.

So if I am planning to return to the establishment for another meal, I will tip. If you do not plan to return, you can tip zero with no bad consequence to you.

I concur GreenBud. Best to do as the locals do: leave a 20 bht note and any spare change. Don't over tip, this is NOT the West. And look at your bill, some places include a 10% service charge.

    Gents,

Will be flying into Bangkok next week for a few days. I've made a few trips before but was considering exploring Pattaya this time. Have heard that there's at least passable scuba diving and that the nightlife might be a nice change up from Bangkok.

    1) Anyone here done any diving (in the water, not on the girls!) in Pattaya? Worth it?

    2) Given the timing, any concerns for next week with respect to the ASEAN naval exercise or what have you? I don't usually go with FL, prefer higher-end options.

    3) I realize this has been a topic of much discussion, but general thoughts on BKK vs. Pattaya?

I am tempted to join you for Songkran.

LOL. But why would that be your concern? That should be the concern of the employer, not the customer. You do not walk into other businesses and tell the owner that you will pay his employees. You are only concerned with paying for what you are buying and the owner should be concerned about paying his employees.

But I understand that many westerners feel obliged to give extra money for everything. Why do most people tip the taxi driver, but not the bus driver? Why do most people tip the person that served them at the restaurant, but not the person that served them in the airplane? Why don't most people tip their doctor or dentist, when they are providing the most valuable services that you will ever need in life?
OK thanks for the heads up. I didn't feel like the $90 paid in total was a ripoff, she did put in her best effort, but I'll tip less next time.

To answer your question why tip the waiter. They will spit in your food next time if you don't or serve you last, make you wait longer to take your order, etc. Why don't we do the same with the dentist? I know how much he's getting from the fee paid (most of it), with the waiter I don't know, he could be getting 20% or 0, some of them live entirely on tips.

And we don't tip for airplane food because it's always disgusting slop.

Haha, we think alike. Actually, seeing your questions here made me think of the Seinfeld show!! I think Pattaya needs a stand up comedian. Perhaps that's a business idea for you. I think talent will be happy to come there, don't ya think?

(and yeah, why don't we tip the auto mechanic, the guy or gal that helps us try on several pairs of shoes in a shoe store, etc). Well, maybe some of these guys will soon start tipping the ATM machine too haha. In the future when we are all serviced by robots? LOL.

Actually she was the Fast Buck Artist not you despite your handle. Those of us who do tip give B200-300 in a soapy with B500 being a max tip for a great experience. B1000 is way too much for sure. She was trying to take advantage of you. I never have exceptional soapy experiences now. I seldom read about exceptional soapy experiences here too. Can't recall the last great soapy report. Soapies used to be my favorite venue. I didn't go to a soapy (other than to look at the line-up) on my last two Thai trips. The Lord in BKK is now on my bucket list after reading reports of beautiful girls there.

    G Club Crawl

I hit the Soi Love Inn G-Clubs yesterday at 5 p. I was a bit disappointed. There were better and more ladies back in April. Club 4 only had 4 present. Slightly better line up in 007, with 6 ladies present. However the best of the bunch was a 35 yr old, with a smokin figure. Pirates had about 8 present. One Hottie with boltons was the best one there but she was busy. I didn't see her initially, safe to assume she's in demand. Older lady kept me occupied, and tried very hard to convince me to take her. I held out because I wanted to see the Carre Blanc lineup: They were the oldest of the bunch. Hit it off with a 36 yr old, with a hot body, who turned out to be a nympho. Had a Great time with her. Carre Blanc and Pirates were the busiest with customers.

I didn't go into J Club nor Club Sin.

    Beach Road

Yes, they've chased them off beach road. They've moved across the street. Some are working the WS discos. It's because of ASEAN International Fleet Review. Nov 13-22.

I was cheaper. I only paid the 2400 demanded upfront.
