In all due respect how in the world did you come up with the perception that the bill had anything to do with Koreans or Japanese? Whether it was one guy, two or even 3 etc. ?

He had a perception based on.

1/ japanese and koreans, by "culture", tend to spend a lot in The evening Entertainment, especially on drinks.

They do this a lot At home. They Can easily do this on vacation in LOS where drinks are cheaper and they are there to have fun.

2/ Japanese and Korean tend to go out in groups, easily 3-5, one pays or all goes under one tab, hence a large bill.

Split that bill in 3-5 and it gets down to a more "reasonable" spending capacity of each individual.

There have been nights when I spent 2/2500 baht in two people in a bar, and I am not a drinker.

What's wrong in spending money if you have it and want to spend it?

It is thanks to the spenders that lots of bars do exist and are around.

For the benefits of the non-spenders too as they can have them available.

I can't see a bar making a living based on 5-10 customers buying 3-4 drinks a night.

The average guy whether he's been to Pattaya once or ten times is manipulated by the whole system of opening up wallets. The top bars (aggressive drink pushers) are geared to get your money, and not provide you w / quality service. Probably half the bars I went into are aggressively pushing alcohol on me, every 4 minutes, another drink sir? The bargirls are a big part of this money grabbing system, so are the waitresses.

So when a nice guy who enjoys a few drinks walks into aggressive bars he is really up against a big machine geared to fleece him. After a few bars you're drunk and throwing money around you love everybody and that's the intention of the bars. They all work together, they all benefit from each other.

That's why the local expats don't toy w / these bars, it's a no win. They hang in the low end beer bars, day time gentlemen clubs etc, and once in a while hit WS w / visiting friends.

If you like to drink the bar will try and take control of how much you consume to get more out of your wallet and make you stupid. As you can see their system works very well.

Bangkok, Pattaya, it's not a friendly poker there unless you stay away from the aggressive gogos. The last few times in Patts I enjoyed the lower pressure at LK Metro bars. Not as many stunners (no where near) but plenty of nice women and little drink hustle.

It's the system that's the enemy, not the savvy bar girl, she's just doing what management tells her she must do.

That's my take anyway. Thailand was a letdown for me. I'll give it another go soon.

Funny side story, I was visiting a buddy in Udon Thani and we were at the Day and Night complex (20 bars in a big barn like structure). At the end of one side there was this lively sexy MILF bar girl wearing a cute hat. She got us to sit and have a drink. She was nice and of course I offered and she excepted a LD. The drinks come and I take a sip of my beer and she has her drink in hand. I turn to say something to my buddy and this liquid hits my right shoulder and face. I thought WTF was that? I turn towards her and she wiping liquid off her arm. I asked, did you just throw that drink away? She was shocked that she got caught. Yes you did, as I turned my attention she chucked the drink w / her left hand accidentally hitting me w / it. We left and did not pay for the LD. What a little snake she was. Apparently she had a bad reputation up there, my buddy read about her before that night in the local expat news.

Anyway, in Thailand if your expectations are low then you will be on easy street. OTOH if you're into high end gogos, Sensations, Happy Agogo, Bacarra etc, I forget the others because I don't patronize them, you'll get played and spend more than intended. Most stunners will not go w / you unless you're K or J.

I liked Electric Blue a hustle bar too but less so. Bikini Agogo (more user friendly) etc. In LK Metro Sugar Sugar, Champagne Agogo etc I liked those.

The sharp younger mongers might do quite well along w / the older more disciplined guys in the rip off top bars where the hottest pussy dance.

I'm unhappy in these places more times than not. I'm in awe of the beautiful Thai women (I can't have), just unbelievable. I'll figure it out someday or continue to be manipulated.

And disappointed. I don't play Soi 6, probably much easier going there. Lots of guys love it there. I like the farm fresh dancers in the gogos, I'll continue to hunt in the gogos.

During the day I mainly hit Soi 6, Kinnaree, and look for cute girls in MP's. Are their other options I am missing during the day to find cute girls?

Night agenda is easy to fill for me with soi 6, gogo clubs, and regular dance clubs. I also check out soapies but have yet to go with anyone since the value isn't there (ie. for 2500 I'd rather take out a gogo girl ST than pay 2500-4000 for a soapie). FYI, the only decent girls at Honey 2 now are in the 4k group.

If we are talking about Pattaya with the exception of go go girls. The cost is 500-1000 baht. 1000 is the maximum. If she is charging you more it is because she either does not respect you, things you are a sucker or is repulsed by you and is demanding more money to bribe her to spend time with you. In any case be a man and stand up for yourself and walk away.

I don't think the main issue is girls disrespecting customers, what's said to who when we aren't around. The main issue here is the concern rates will go up, happens on every board. Guy blows into town with a wad of cash, spends it all over the place and next thing you know your being asked for double the going rate. But if people still want to discuss prices and how some are overpaying, please provide us with your sources of income so we can get a better picture of what's really driving you.

As a tourist your world is not really available (for me / others) but if you have a couple of months or live there some charm / baht will make your dreams come true.

Guys just a harmless comment but it needs to be said. Please don't come on here and cry about being overcharged for amounts such as 500 Baht. If you can't afford to pay an extra 500 Baht over the so called going rate, then you should not even be coming to Thailand. Every lady has the right to ask for whatever she wants. It's her body and frankly I'm tired of the price police on here.

Not all guys let these woman hustlers walk all over them. Yes a woman can ask whatever she wants and obviously she will try to get as much as she can from you. She sizes you up from the way you dress, your jewelry, and the way you act. Guys, also have the right to pay as much or as little as they want. Some guys are doormats and these woman who are pro's will eat you alive. I can almost guarantee many of these guys that just give the girl what ever she wants are the same guys that after they leave continue to send money to these girls actually thinking the girl is his girlfriend. Many guys have no negotiation skills with woman or even know how to talk to woman. So they can't understand the fact that they are paying two to three times more when everyone else is paying less.

Many guys go to Thailand themselves. They never see the girl interacting with other customers. If they did they would no be on her bragging about paying an extra 500 Baht. They would realize wow I am being treated differently than other customers. This girl is taken advantage of me and just walk away right there if she does not charge me what everyone else pays. But, because this is mostly done on a one on one discussion. Guys don't see what's going on even if other guys are telling him.

If you look closely at the photo it seems that the bill is itemizing ladydrinks for each girl, most only got a few drinks but the one near the top's bill is in the thousand baht number.

Don't believe what your NY friends are telling you. Great looking Russian girls performing all the good stuff in NYC will run you at least thousand dollars, probably a significant amount more. You don't believe me? Listen to what Jordan Belfort had to say about NY hookers in the early '90's:
